REVIEW - Enslaved (Enslaved Trilogy #1) by Shoshanna Evers

The Book
Release Date: 8 April 2013
Goodreads Link

From a red-hot erotica writer comes an original eBook—a sensual romp across the playgrounds of the unbelievably rich and extremely sexy.Elisabeth Anderson has seen Trevor and his friends at the infamous Manhattan BDSM club WhipperSnapper, where everyone calls them the BAD Boys, for “Billionaire Arrogant Doms.” The BAD Boys—Trevor Brooks, Marc Wilde, and Roman Chase—are aptly named; they’ve made money hand over fist due to their aggressive investing at the Brooks Wilde Chase Fund. These guys are so rich they can get away with anything, or so the rumors go.

Trevor gives Elisabeth full reign of his estate in Westchester, letting her do as she pleases. He has only two rules. Rule One: she must obey and submit to him while she is living in his house. Rule Two: always answer the blue cell phone. She’s happy to oblige, because being with Trevor makes her want to obey, to love him the way he seems to be falling for her. But Elisabeth’s never been good at being the quiet sub; she's feisty and gets off on the punishments more than she does by pleasing Trevor.

Elizabeth can’t submit to Trevor the way he needs her to, so his friend and business partner (and fellow BAD Boy) Roman takes her in hand. But love triangles can have sharp edges...and somebody’s bound to get hurt.

My Opinion  3.5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Gallery, Threshold Pocket Books, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

At first. Elisabeth seems quite a weak person as she is unable to make a decision without Gregory's input. It stays very safe on the BDSM lifestyle, giving you a glimpse with Elisabeth being a pain lover.

The story is told mainly from Elisabeth's POV, however we do get some from Trevor and a few appearances from Gregory which I don't think was really needed.

The passing of time passes fairly quickly, however sometimes it's hard to realise how fast it has gone.

I really did not feel Elisabeth's struggle to choose between Trevor and Roman and the ending felt a little rushed.

However saying all of the above, I did really enjoy the story and i'm looking forward to Roman getting a HEA.

REVIEW - My Stepbrother the Groom: A Romantic Comedy (Lexi's Sexy Romantic Comedy Series Book 1) by Lexi Maxxwell

The Book
Release Date: 23 March 2015
Goodreads Link

He'd be perfect if he wasn't getting married … and if he wasn't about to become her stepbrother. Romantic humor has never been so deliciously tempting. It's been a rough day for Ella Roberts.

First, her social-climbing mother Valerie dragged her to yet another wedding -- something that always reminds Ella that real life offers few happily-ever-afters.

Second, Valerie's goal isn't to have fun at the event, but to schmooze clients for the family wedding business that Ella’s hated forever.

And third (after too much wine, and being mocked by her black sheep sister for "letting Mom bind you with her bitch chains"), Ella gets a text from her latest disposable boyfriend, Chase: NOT WORKING OUT. SORRY. I HAVE YOUR GYM SHOES.

But things are finally looking up. The handsome, charming, successful man Ella meets at the bar fills her with flutters and makes everything better. Gazing into Nathan Hayes's kind blue eyes, Ella can almost believe that love at first sight is true after all.

It's too bad that in just two months, Ella's mother will be marrying Nathan's father … in a double wedding with Nathan and his fiancee Natasha.

She should run from her feelings for Nathan. She should back away and find a new mediocre man to amuse her. But Ella’s been unlucky in love too many times to ignore what she feels … and so for Ella, "taboo" turns to "game on" instead.

This romantic comedy about love, temptation, and the desires that drive us is the first humorous contemporary romance from Lexi Maxxwell, author of La Fleur de Blanc, Together Apart, A Temptation in Time, and many more. This tale's romantic humor is spot on … and will keep you longing, laughing, and turning the pages in time with your quickly beating heart.

This is the first time in a long while that i have had to stop reading a book, and I really like the write up for this book as it really sounded like my kind of read.

Ella really annoyed me.  Yes there are a few funny moments, but she never really acted her age and the internal dialogue really, again, annoyed me.  I also do not like anyone trying to break up what is a happy relationship for their own gain.

Nathan did not appeal to me either, he was just plain boring, so I didn't see what Ella saw in him.

The book is only told from Ella's POV and may have been improved should we have had Nathan's POV and made him little more interesting.

I certainly will not be reading any more in this series.

fugly, a USA TODAY BESTSELLER from Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

UGLY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER...
My name is Lily Snow. I am twenty-five years old, and despite being born with an unattractive face, I have never doubted who I am: smart, driven, and beautiful on the inside.

Until I met Maxwell Cole.

He's handsome, excessively wealthy, and the owner of Cole Cosmetics. It's been my dream to work for this man for as long as I can remember. The good news is he wants to hire me. The bad news is he wants me for all the wrong reasons. Ugly reasons.

In exchange, he's offered me my dreams on a silver platter. The job. The title. A beautiful future. But this man is as messed up and ugly as they come on the inside. I'm not sure anyone can help him, and he just might take my heart down with him

“Lily Snow?” I heard a woman call my name.
I looked over at the slender, gorgeous redhead, not much older than me, wearing a fitted blue dress and strappy blue heels. Her smoky, mascara-caked eyes scanned the nearly empty lobby, looking right over my head.
“Hi. I’m Lily Snow.”
Her eyes fell on my face with a spark of shock she quickly tried to conceal. “You’re…Miss Snow?”
I gave her a quick nod.
“Oh,” she said stiffly. “Don’t you have lovely hair.”
Her comment was what I liked to call a “conscience clearer.” It was when someone realized they just acted like a coldhearted ass and then quickly tried to make it up to me with a compliment. Usually about my long, wavy blonde hair or my “cute little body.”
I stood from my chair and extended my hand. “Thanks. I’ll trade my hair for your shoes. Your Manolos are to die for.” They were a limited release made just for Oscar season. Very expensive.
My shoes, for the record, were Franco Sarto heels I’d found on clearance at The Rack, black and simple, just like my pencil skirt and blouse. I would’ve loved to wear something more expensive, but the job I’d been in—a one-year consulting project at B&H Cosmetics—was for the experience rather than a big paycheck. I could’ve done better, but I’d had my sights on C.C., and I knew Mr. Cole, the owner, worked at B&H right after college.
I’m on your heels, big man.
A little smile popped on the redhead’s face. “My boyfriend got them for me,” she said, doing a little pivot to show off the shoes. “He works for Babs Levine.”
Uh. Wow. Babs was the world’s top formal dress designer, who once worked for some of the biggest names in fashion before going out on her own. She practically owned the red carpet this last season.
“Well,” I smiled, “if you ever get tired of your boyfriend, I’m single.”
She laughed so loud her voice echoed off the sterile-looking walls of the lobby. “I don’t think so.”
I wasn’t sure if she’d meant she’d never give the guy up or that he’d never go for me in a million years.

Both. Definitely both. I didn’t take offense, though. I’d made the comment to break the ice, and it worked. She introduced herself as Keri and became all smiles and warm chatter on the elevator ride up. I liked her immediately.

REVIEW - Chasing Jane by Noelle Adams

The Book
Release Date: 23 September 2015

My mother named me Jane after Jane Austen--or maybe Jane Eyre. She said either one would do. With a name like Jane, I might not be a beauty queen or the most popular girl in the room, but I would be smart and strong and make good decisions.

I guess I've mostly lived up to my name.

My mother died before we could go on our trip to England to visit all of the best Jane-spots, so I'm going with my best friend instead. That's Nate. He's sweet and funny and adorable, and we've known each other since kindergarten. In fact, he was almost my stepbrother until my mom and his dad broke up. But don't get the wrong idea about him. It's never been romantic between us.

At the moment, I'm crazy about this mystery guy I've been talking to on a dating site, and he's nothing like Nate at all. I don't know why I'm suddenly finding Nate so attractive, and I don't know why he has started acting kind of strange.

Anyway, this is my Jane trip, and I've been waiting for it all my life.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a light and fluffy novella and delivers what you expect from a friends to lovers story.  Its is also exactly what I needed to read after a long day looking after my twins.

The book is only five chapters long and covers two days, but its sweet and fun is is the perfect read to relax to of an evening when you don't have too much time.

It may have taken my two days to get through, but ordinarily i think it would only take an hour of two.

I continue to love all of the books from this author.

ROCK THE BEGININING (Black Falcon Prequel) Full Story

My Opinion  5 STARS
In this very small novella we get to see a snippet of Lane and Noel before the split and before Black Falcon took off making Noel famous.

We see the innocent kids they were as they start their romance from friends, to the end of their senior year.

Just four short chapters, two from Lane's point of view and the last two from Noel's point of view.

Certainly worth reading before you start the series.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Month9Books, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

It took me a long time to get through this book, purely because I got bored reading it and that the whole book stayed dark.

Quinn annoyed me as never once had she spoken to anyone about what she had seen, neither had she spoken to a doctor about not sleeping, a fact that very quickly forgotten. I also didn't like the way that she kept pushing those around her away that tried to help.

Aaron also annoyed me. I couldn't really identify with him or Quinn and we really didn't get that much time to identify them as a couple.

To be honest i ended up speed reading through this at 50% as it was taking so long to read and i just wanted to finish it.

There is a cliff hangar ending, however i have no intention of reading the second book in the series

REVIEW - The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

The Book
Release Date: 30 September 2001 (Original Publish date 1969)
Goodreads Link

Suitable for children, this title covers colourful collage illustrations and its deceptively simply, hopeful story. It features die-cut pages and finger-sized holes to explore.

My Opinion  5 STARS
This is a classic book that I read when I was a young girl. Now i am reading it to my twin boys.

They love the bright colours and the little holes in the food makes turning the pages more fun. This will be a book that we will be reading often as it can also assist in counting to 10.

ITs a book that does not get old over time, its a classic that your children will end up reading to their children, repeating the cycle over and over.

COVER REVEAL - Good Girl vs. Bad Boy: The Marine Meets His Match (Brody Brothers Book One) by Jessie Evans

GoodGirlVSBadBoy
      Release Date -

November 17, 2015

Synopsis
Let the battle of the sexes begin…

He’s hot, wild, unpredictable, untamable, and her best friend’s older brother.
Colton Brody is everything a good girl like Phoebe Page should avoid. But since her sister Kelly’s death, Phoebe isn’t as worried about being good as she used to be. She wants to live big with no regrets, the way Kelly did, and she intends to start with having a top secret, super steamy, no-strings-attached holiday fling with the man she’s crushed on her entire life.

What could go wrong?

Except everything?

Wounded in action and discharged without a chance to prove himself, all Colton cares about is getting back into the Marine Corps where he belongs. He will not get sucked into small town drama, will not take that promotion at the firehouse, and certainly won’t fall in love with his little sister’s best friend. He’s down for friends-with-benefits, nothing more, and plans to leave town long before quirky, bossy, cute-as-a-button Phoebe can get under his skin.

He is in control.

At least until a certain sexy brunette turns his world upside down.

It isn’t long before Colton finds himself buying flowers, talking feelings, and wishing Phoebe wanted more than another night of hot, no-holds-barred sex. Because when he’s with Phoebe even hot and dirty feels like making love.

Now Colton will have to decide what’s worth fighting for—the dreams a plane crash stole from him or the dream he’s holding in his arms.

WARNING: Good Girl vs. Bad Boy contains a mix of heart-warming romance, quirky characters, laugh out loud moments, and blisteringly hot banging. If you don’t like hot sex, laughter, mentions of humping unicorns, turkey bowling, off-beat town rituals, or graphic descriptions of artisanal pancakes, steer clear.

EXCERPT

“I think we should talk about what’s going on here.”

She swallowed. “We’re cooking.”

“Gabi, look at me.”

She shook her head, taking the coward’s way out. If she noticed the lock of hair falling into his eyes a second time, she might have to push it back in place.

“Gabriella?” The smooth texture of his voice was like chocolate on her tongue.

His sticky hand tucked under her chin and forced her to meet his gaze.

He stepped closer, his frame molding to hers and pressing her back against the counter.

She couldn’t breathe.

His thumb traced her bottom lip. “This is a bad idea,” he mumbled her thoughts.

She nodded. “Very poor choice.” Her hands gripped the side of the counter to keep from touching him.

Hunter sucked in a deep breath. “You smell like flowers.”

“I’ll change my shampoo.”

He started to dip his head and she kept talking. “Something musky, so you won’t notice me.”

“I don’t think that’s going to work.”

He was close enough to catch the scent of mint on his breath. “I don’t even like you.” One of her legs lifted and rubbed against one of his.

“I don’t trust you.” His hand moved from her lip the side of her neck.

“You blackmailed me.”

“You tricked me into cooking with your mother.”

She smiled. “The two hardly compare.”

Instead of dropping his lips to hers, he detoured to the side of her neck and kept talking, his breath brushing her skin. “Have you met your mother?”

“That’s sill—”

His lips found her neck.

She moaned and closed her eyes. Such a deliciously bad idea.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I am SO sad to see that this series is ending.  I have loved every single one of the books in this series, and this one is no exception.

We get romance, suspense, blackmail and as always the importance of friends and family.

Hunter turned from a bit of a cold hearted man, to a man who found the benefit of having a loving woman at his side, a companion and someone to look after without thinking of just himself and what he wanted.

Gabi was a woman with emotional scars from her previous husband, wounded in the worst way and has since not had a relationship since, she also flinches whenever a man touches her.  She knows what she has signed herself up with and finds that not everything is as it seems again with a man she has matched up with.

It doesn't take long for hate to end up as something else and for friends and family to say they will help if they can.

Catherine Bybee will continue to be an author that I keep my eye out for as her style of writing draws me in and keeps me wanting more.  I look forward to what she will come up with next.

Callie Wild spent her childhood devouring fairy tales and her teen years soaking in a potent marinade of historical bodice rippers and 1980s time travel romances. *happy sigh*
She finished her first book at age ten. It was a friends to lovers story featuring too much kissing--at least according to the English teacher who called her mother in for a conference--and she has been writing ever since.

Callie loves stories that are hot, fast-paced, sexy, steamy, sweet, and a little silly and is so excited to share her Kinky Adult Fairy Tales with readers.
