REVIEW - Wolf Pawn: A Dark Mafia Shifter Romance (Wolves of New York Book 2) by Bella Jacobs

The Book

Release Date: 25 May 2021

I thought Maxim Thorn was ruthless before, but I haven't seen anything yet...

Maxim's pack is under siege. His enemies will stop at nothing to lay claim to everything he holds dear. And thanks to an ancient prophecy, half the shifter world believes being mated to me (or my long-lost sister) is the key to unlimited power.

That's the other thing--the sister I haven't seen in years?

She's alive, and out to destroy Maxim.

When we were younger, Kelley was my hero, but now she's putting innocent people's lives at risk. Meanwhile, Maxim truly seems to want the best for his people, even as he pulls no punches when it comes to interrogating--and erotically torturing--me.

It's getting hard to tell light from dark, good from evil so wicked it'll scare the Big Bad Wolf himself.

Meanwhile, I'm starting to doubt any of us will make it out of this war for the throne alive...

My Review.  5 STARS

This book starts where the last one leaves off with Maxim punishing Willow, it is here that she finally realises his power and it unlocks a memory that she had buried with the help of her mother.

It is in this book that we learn of Bane and Kelleys outcome, and some of what they will go to to get what they want.

Willow makes better friends with Maxims sister Diana and we get to see more of the father and Willow making allies within the pack.  She becomes stronger in herself and learns more about herself and her special gift.

This is a brilliant book in the series and certainly leaves you craving the next book.

REVIEW - Wolf King: A Dark Mafia Shifter Romance (Wolves of New York Book 1) by Bella Jacobs

The Book

Release Date: 4 May 2021

Maxim Thorn is a ruthless Alpha, a mobster king who rules his pack with an iron fist.
He's also my only hope.

As a shifter from the wrong side of the tracks who's just been rejected by my abusive fated mate, I don't have a lot of options in this city.

I have no choice but to make a deal with the devil.

But that doesn't mean I'm powerless. I have an ace up my sleeve, a bargaining chip Maxim can't resist. He wants revenge on my pack leaders for poisoning his father, and I hold the key to his enemy's destruction.

In exchange for one month of protection from my ex and his friends, I promise to give Maxim what he wants--me.

I expect honoring the bargain to be pure hell. I don't expect to ignite every time we touch or to develop a soft spot for this wounded wolf. His blood calls to mine, and I'm starting to think this wicked king may have a heart after all.

But is there room in his world for love? Or am I destined to become a pawn in his dark game?

My Review  5 STARS

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Oh. My. Goodness!  This book was truly fantastic and I cannot WAIT for the next book in the series to come out.  This book left on such a cliff hanger, but in the best way possible.

Willow is an incredibly strong female in character and has suffered a lot in her previous pack, after being given the Alpha's nasty son as her mate, she manages to escape to a rival pack in order to save herself, but after getting her parents promise to get to safety.

Willow also finds out within the new pack that is currently sheltering her that she has a very rare gift and that there is also a prophecy about her and her sister that disappeared eight years ago.

Maxim is the alpha of the pack that Willow escapes to and her actually has the respect of his pack but rules with an iron fist, but is fair with it.  He finds Willow intriguing and the longer he is around her the more he wants her, even though he does not want a mate, Willow is changing his mind.

There is so much packed into this book, that you wonder how the author manager to pack it all in.  I was completely mesmerised from page one and completely pulled into the story.  I ended up reading the book in one day after having been through the longest dry spell for reading I have had in years.

REVIEW - Gabriel's Album (Cruise Control Heroes #1) by Sian Ceinwen

The rock star always gets the girl...

I'm living my dream. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a rock star. And now here I am, about to start my first big tour, when she comes along.

Ariana.

From the second we meet, she's all I can think about.Asking her to come on tour with me is easy. But she's shy, insecure, and the paparazzi scare her. We live in two completely different worlds.

I love her and I know that she's worth fighting for. The problem is, I'm not sure if love is enough.

Gabriel's Album is the first book in the Cruise Control Heroes series. It's the companion novel to The Album. Fall in love with Gabriel and Ariana all over again as Cruise Control embarks on their first world tour.

My Review  4 STARS

This book is from Gabriels point of view and echos the book The Album which is from Ariana's point of view.

I felt for Gabriel even more in this book and Ariana comes out as really insecure and just not as nice, Gabriel on the other hand looks even more patient and kind and i really felt bad with the way that Ariana almost seems to string him along.

Gabriel has a fantastic set of friends who are certainly there when he needs them even if he doesn't realise how much they do for him at his darkest moment.

A good read that certainly had tears in my eyes at times as Gabriel struggled with his emotions and the actions of Ariana.
