REVIEW - Make It Hurt (Texas Bounty #2) by Jackie Ashenden

The Book
Release Date: 6 December 2016
Goodreads Link

The Texas Bounty series heats up as a female bounty hunter goes toe-to-toe with the tantalizing biker who never stopped loving her.

Nora Sutcliffe enjoys having tough guys at her mercy—preferably in handcuffs. The best fugitive recovery agent in the business, Nora always gets her man. But when her latest pursuit leads her to a notorious biker hangout, she’s reunited with “Smith”: the one man who was too hot for Nora to handle. Once upon a time, she was a rich girl and he was a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Now she needs his help, and she’ll do whatever it takes to get it.

Eight years ago, Smith let a pretty little Texas debutante break his heart. He picked up the pieces, went to hell and back with the army, then rode out of the darkness with a gang of outlaws at his back. The last thing he needs is a blast from the past like Nora, who has reinvented herself as a gun-toting badass with the stones to challenge him in front of the whole club. But if she thinks Smith will give up one of his brothers for a single night of pleasure, she’s in for a rude awakening.

Includes an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Random House, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a second chance at love romance whilst showing you that you never know what is going to come and shape your life into something you would never have seen coming.

Bounty hunter Nora Sutcliff is an ex debutante, however when going to pick up her latest bail skipper, she gets a shock in the form of "Smith", the one man she has never forgotten.

Smith is no longer trying to be the nice guy, he has picked up more rough edges along the way and makes no apologies for the way that he is now.

Its another griping book in the series, but could easily be read as a stand alone should you wish.

It has grit, sex, love and humour along with enough plot to keep you turning page after page.

REVIEW - Naughty Boss by Whitney G.

The Book
Release Date: 15 December 2016
Goodreads Link

A steamy, office-romance novella from New York Times bestselling author, Whitney G...

He definitely wasn’t supposed to get that email…

Subject: My Boss.

Have I already told you that I hate my boss today?

Sexy as hell or not, this pompous, arrogant, ASSHOLE asked me to pick up his dry cleaning the second I walked through the door. Then he told me that I needed to take his Jaguar to a car wash that was ten miles outside of the city, but only after I needed to stand in a never-ending line to buy some type of limited, hundred-dollar watch.

I honestly can’t wait to see the look on his face two months from now when I tell him that I’m quitting his company and that he can kiss my ass. KISS. MY. ASS.

All those former fantasies about him kissing me with his “mouth of perfection” or bending me over my desk and filling me with his cock are long over. OVER.

Your bestie,
Mya

PS--Please tell me your day is going better than mine…

Subject: Re: My Boss.

No, you haven’t already told me that you hate your "boss" today, but seeing as though you’ve sent me this email directly, I know now…

Yes, I did ask you to pick up my dry cleaning the second you arrived to work to day. (Where is it?) And I did tell you to take my Jaguar to the car wash and pick up my thousand-dollar watch. (Thank you for taking five hours to do something that could be accomplished in two.)

You don’t have to wait two months from now to see the look on my face when you tell me you’re quitting. I’m standing outside your office at this very moment. ( Open the door. )

No comment on your “fantasies,” although I highly doubt they’re “long over.”

Your boss,
Michael

PS—Yes. My day is definitely going far better than yours…

My Opinion  4.5 STARS
This is a brilliantly written novella.

My only problem is that i wanted more.  The alpha male is a complete dick most of the way through, then we find out why, we also get a little retaliation from our main lady which at times just seems a little petty.

Definitely a hot little red as soon as they hooked up, but i think i would have preferred this to be a full length novel.

“You’re wearing mistletoe panties, princess. Where was I supposed to kiss you?”

Eva Bradshaw used to have standards. But with Christmas around the corner and a six-year-old daughter to feed, there’s not much the former Olympic figure skater wouldn’t do for some extra cash, even if it means violating her hard limit: hockey players.

Like the filthy-mouthed, sex-on-skates hockey god who’s about to slide straight into her penalty box…

NHL center Walker Dunn has been stuck on the injured list for months. So when his trainer springs for some one-on-one time with a beautiful woman, Walker’s more than ready to take the edge off… until he realizes the ice princess with the perfect ass isn’t there to handle his stick. She’s there to coach him back into action—whether he likes it or not.

Walker puts the cock in hockey. Eva’s a champion ball-buster. Hate-f*cking their way onto Santa’s very naughty list might be their only shot at settling the score.

But falling for each other? Never. No way. Not a snowball’s chance in hell…

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

So far everything that i have read by this author i have loved whether it be a novella or this full novel.

This is a wickedly sexy romance that had me turning the pages desperately wanting the misunderstandings or past to get out of the way so that this couple could finally get their HEA.

Eva is a strong woman who does what she needs to do within reason to get what she needs, she has a very supportive sister who helps her when she needs someone to fall upon.

Walker Dunn is your not so average Hockey player, he has two really great friends and under the swagger all has a heart of gold.

I loved how the characters interacted and seemed all so human as with some books things don't always seem believable.

This will certainly be on to to re-read pile for future holidays.

And that someone was her former sorority sister—now former friend—who had just kicked her out of her own hotel room…in the middle of the night…at their friend's wedding…for some hanky-panky with an old fling. So much for sisterhood. With no room in the inn and no place to stay, she's forced to accept help from the last person she ever wanted to spend the night with again: Scott, devilishly handsome, smart, and her ex-fiance's ex-best man.

Scott Parker has loved Marissa since the first day he bumped into her freshman year of college. Only he'd never been able to tell her. After all, you didn't just grab your best friend's girlfriend, kiss her and tell her she was the One for you, no matter how often he'd dreamed about it. Now, years later, Marissa is single and, in a moment of pure luck, staying at his cabin. When a winter storm blocks the roads and snows the two of them in, Scott is determined to make Marissa see there can be more between them than a shared history...if only she'll let him.

This book was so hot that it nearly scorched my fingers!!

Frenemies to lovers this book leaves you feeling that happy ending can happen over the festive period and if you only talked thinks out instead of just assuming, then things may have happened sooner.

Marissa is a woman who has been hurt in the past and finds it very hard to trust her heart to anyone since the event that still haunts her.

Scott is a man who cannot find anyone that matches up to the woman that he has always wanted, when the chance comes for him to finally make his play, the man does it in such a way that he gets under Marissa's skin before she realises what as happened.

Stranded at Scott's cabin, both find the best way to ride out the storm and keep warm, whilst getting to know each other and Scott showing exactly the kind of man he is.

I really loved reading this book and struggled to put the book down for even a second.

A must read.

REVIEW - Snow Place Like Home by Jessie Evans

The Book
Release Date: 12 January 2017

There’s no place like home?

As far as Macy Clayton is concerned, her hometown of Hope Falls couldn’t have a more fitting name. Hope doesn’t just fall. It tumbles. Fumbles. Crashes. Burns. Her hope gave out the day her first love betrayed her trust, nearly costing her what was left of her family.

She’s back home to pick up the things her father left her in his will, and then she’s putting Hope Farts in her rearview. Permanently.

Too bad fate has other plans…

Hunter Roberts has lived in the mountains his entire life. He’s prepared for snowstorms, icy roads, falling trees, and the occasional avalanche. He isn’t prepared to end up snowed in at a remote ranger’s station with Macy, the only girl he’s ever loved. And he really isn’t prepared for the attraction between them to be more combustible than ever.

Can Hunter convince Macy that a long winter’s night is the perfect time for a new beginning? Or will the one who got away slip through his fingers all over again?

Warning: This is a sexy, second-chance romance featuring a man who isn’t afraid to put it all on the line—or take it all off—in the name of love.

REVIEW - Take Me Deeper (Texas Bounty #1) by Jackie Ashenden

The Book
Release Date: 4 October 2016
Goodreads Link

Jackie Ashenden’s tantalizing series introduces the men of Lone Star Bounty: three badass bounty-hunter brothers who will have readers begging to be caught.

Even as a Green Beret, Zane Redmond hasn’t faced a tougher mission than going home again. Loyalty to his brothers is the only reason he’s back in Texas, not that he intends to stay for long. Zane sure as hell isn’t going into the family business. One last bounty and he’s done—or so he thinks. Nobody warned him that his fugitive happens to be a red-hot brunette with a smart mouth, a body made for sin, and a brutal cartel on her trail.

Bad circumstances and worse choices have left Iris Callahan in a desperate situation. After getting arrested for a drug drop gone wrong, she skipped bail and hit the road to avoid testifying. Now the cartel wants Iris silenced forever, and she’s just lucky that Zane catches her before they do. Handcuffed to a bed, she surrenders to the cool-as-ice bounty hunter in order to survive. But as the chase heats up, Zane sneaks past her emotional defenses—and Iris is in too deep to let him go.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Random House, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a brilliant start to Jackie's new series and it had me hooked from the moment that i started reading and had me sat there right until i finished.  I literally could not put it down.

All of the characters are flawed in some way, but in a way that is believable and renders you powerless to not live them in some way giving them a more realistic felling to them.

This certainly had me wanting more when the book was over and i really can't wait ti sink my teeth into thinnest book to see who gets their story and their HEA next.

Three very interesting sounding brothers....
