The Book
Release Date: 29 May 2014
One guy, one girl. One in the spotlight. One in the shadows.
Falling in love with your best friend isn’t always a great idea, especially when he’s Noah Lockton - the sexiest, most famous new talent on the planet. When 21-year-old small-town photographer Chloe Campbell is offered the chance of a lifetime – to join her celebrity childhood friend Noah on tour as an exclusive blogger for a New York magazine – she’s certain both have put what happened four years ago behind them. But his eyes still burn; his voice is still a jackhammer to her heartstrings; all his songs are about her. Is it possible that that night still haunts them both?
The music industry is a machine, spinning hype and rumors as much as his records. It’s not just Noah’s girlfriends who’ve got it in for Chloe (there’s no stopping the Twitter-obsessed, cat-loving pop-star Courtney Lentini for starters). Pretty soon, the jealousy and media frenzy surrounding these so-called-friends takes a life-changing turn and it seems making love means making enemies at every turn. When tragedy threatens to pull the final curtain on their relationship, both Chloe and Noah must make a choice. As much as this world leaves them starstruck, is living their dream really worth living without each other?
A story of lifelong friendships, love and hope, set in a world of celebrity, fame and social media gone very, very wrong.
From International Bestselling HarperCollins Author, Becky Wicks, comes a new adult romance that will leave you starstruck.
***Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and mature situations. Not intended for young adult readers.***

This is a fabulous book, and I was so upset when it ended as I wanted to read MORE. Needless to say it got read in just one sitting, whilst asking my husband not to talk to me.
The book is really well written and has you wondering what its really like for the winners of reality show winners and those around them as the media and the fans go out of control.
Its a friends to lovers book, that again, is written so well, you really imagine thats its happening right before your eyes. It may have taken the pair time to actually get together, but they needed the right time to realise their feelings and, well, to be single at the same time.
This is certainly an author I will be looking out for as I have a feeling that I will love all of her books :)
REALLY looking forward to reading more...

Beneath the Surface (Reluctance #1) by M.A. Stacie
The Book
Release Date: 29 August 2013
Kyran Reese is a man in control. Driven when it comes to work, focused when it comes to play. From his office to the chalk circle of the bare-knuckle boxing ring, his only thought is to win. That thirst heightens when Dale Porter enters his life. His brother’s assistant should be off limits, but her witty comments and sarcastic comebacks have him desperate to get her between the sheets.
When Dale agrees to Kyran’s relationship stipulation of no labels she’s sucked into a whirlwind of lust, money, and underground boxing. Dale fights her growing affection, trying to hide it when the world around them spirals out of control. All too soon she realizes she can’t hide her true feelings any longer.
Has Kyran finally met his match? Could playing to win mean playing for keeps?
My Opinion 3 STARS
** ARC Provided by NetGalley and The Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House for an honest review**
This book follows the tried and tested formula of slightly tortured sexy alpha male (Kyran) who sees 'the one' (Dale), but doesn't realise it until his comfort and her presence in his life is threatened. I also liked the fact Judah had a 'secret' MAN type of bare fisted fighting thing going on.
Dale who only VERY recently split up with her boyfriend after he broke her heart starts a new job and both fall instantly in lust with each other.
There are plenty of sex scenes, however the emotion doesn't grip you with them. However the dialogue did have me laughing out loud at times, they could really spit and spark.
I liked the interaction with Taylor, but we didn't really get into enough depth as to the reactions and feelings Taylor's action had.

Red Hot Dragon (Dragon Heat #2) by Lolita Lopez
The Book
Release Date: 1 October 2013
Griffin Cadogan is shocked to see Avani Monroe, sworn enemy of his dragon family, walk into his gym. With his mating phase soon approaching, Griffin is curious as to why she has to come enemy territory knowing the risks. Not only does she surprise Griffin and his cousin, Mad, by coming to enemy territory, but what she wants is borderline insane-Griffin must help her have a baby.
After her mother's line was annihilated by the Knights, Avani accepted her duty to ensure the continuation of their unique dragon breed. She's searched the dragon registries and Griffin is the most likely candidate for her crazy plan. Working up the courage to approach a man who considers her an enemy wasn't easy but she manages to calmly lay out her carefully orchestrated plan.
But Griffin isn't about to agree to her harsh terms. If she wants him to father her child, he intends to play an active role in his offspring's life, not simply walk away as she requires. Shocked by her instant attraction to him, she agrees to his terms. Once together, they realize their connection is about more than creating a child, but that happiness is short-lived when Mad suddenly disappears. Knowing the dragon slayers are behind it, Griffin must risk it all to save the ones he loves.
My Opinion 5 STARS
This novella was much better than the first in the fact that Griffin acted more like the alpha male i was expecting, however he definitely still had a very soft side.
It was a very short read due to the length, but still it follows the same pattern as book one. The pair get together very quickly and make mad passionate love, then the knights make an appearance and the lady saves the day.
Told from both points of view it does not feel flat and you get the best parts of both emotions and how their views and wants change over the few days that they have been together.
Looking forward to reading Madoc's book!

Dead Sexy Dragon (Dragon Heat #1) by Lolita Lopez
The Book
Release Date: 6 August 2013
The last thing dragon shifter Stig Wyvern needs is his dead friend’s kid sister showing up on his doorstep. He’s just minutes away from entering a mating phase. Sharing his isolated house with the young woman he’s desperately lusted after for quite some time is a recipe for disaster.
But Cora Cardenas has nowhere else to go. She’s in deep trouble with some really nasty people and Stig is the only one who can protect her. That he’s deliciously sexy and makes her tingle with the simplest of smiles is just a bonus.
Cora quickly realizes Stig is hiding something from her. To make matters worse, she’s plagued with breathtakingly naughty dreams starring a shadowed lover who bears a startling resemblance to her host. And just what the hell is going on down in the basement at night?
Stig needs to get Cora out of his house but his inner beast has other ideas. He’s found his mate and she’s not going anywhere...
My Opinion 4 STARS
** Copy provided by Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an honest review**
My only complaint about this book is that it was more of a novella than a novel, therefore, although we find out these two characters had been attracted to each other since they first met, things happened altogether to first to seem real.
No thought was even mention about birth control or if the other were clean even the next day when both were more themselves. It also was a little strange that even though Stig had not confided in anyone before, that he so easily gave details of his life and of what he was so easily to Cora, even knowing that she was a human.
The heat between the two however was explosive and had me drooling at how yummy Stig was, even how he fought to protect Cora at whatever it cost to himself.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Ever since Kylie left him, he hasnt been able to forget her sweet country smile. After writing a song just for her, he sets off for her hometown to prove hes not the player she thinks he is. But as much as Cole cant forget her, Kylie wonders if she can forgive him.
My Opinion 2.5 STARS
** Copy provided by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an honest review**
This is certainly not the best book that I have read from the Entangled Bliss line and it is the first book that I have read from this author. In fact it is quite mediocre.
There was absolutely no taming of this country star however and even Kylie seemed a little wet, constantly going back and forth as to whether she can make it work between her and Cole.
I expected more of a fight to be put up between either of the characters and that not what we got. The only problem they had was her 'issue' with the photographers, even their chemistry was a little lacklustre.
The novel was more of a novella in length, but it very light hearted, but would not be the first book I recommended from Entangled.

Tied With Me (With Me in Seattle #6) by Kristen Proby
The Book
Release Date: 18 March 2014
A man whose lifestyle is so different from her own…
Nic Dalton’s cupcake bakery is thriving. She serves both rock stars and locals alike, content with her growing business. But one adventurous night out with her best friend, Bailey, turns her life upside down. She meets a handsome stranger who makes her skin sizzle and her heart race. Their one night together is explosive and unexpected, but when he has to suddenly leave without taking her phone number, Nic resigns herself to never seeing him again.
…What will it take to trust and submit to his every desire?
Matt Montgomery is one of Seattle’s finest. He works hard, loves and protects his family fiercely, and is loyal almost to a fault.
And he has a penchant for bondage.
Matt enjoys the way a woman looks wrapped up in his ropes, and makes no apologies for his preferences. When he meets Nic at a fetish festival, the small, beautiful woman catches his eye, drawing him to her. His one night with her was everything he’s ever looked for in a partner, but is cut short because of a family emergency. Even before he sees her again weeks later, he knows he’ll never get her out of his system.
And he’ll do whatever it takes to make her his.
“Give in to this, Nic. Let me prove to you that I will be one of the best decisions you ever make.” –Matt Montgomery
My Opinion 5 STARS
This book should seriously come with a massive heat warning and come with a cold shower (trust me you will need it with this HOT book).
This is the best book in the series so far, even if i have a crush on all of the Montgomery men so far. Matt though is one male you would not pass up if he came your way. Not to mention that he's a cop.
In a lot of ways, although Matt likes to tie up his women and dominate in the bedroom, it is only on a soft level. He is only slightly kinky, but he doesn't take his dominance outside of the bedroom and demand Nic acts or dresses a certain way. However he does take care of her and wants complete honesty so that he can look after her the best he can and gets really annoyed when she hides things from him that he believes he needs to know.
Nic is a cupcake baker that owns her own shop and has a few celebrity visitors, and her shop is getting more and more popular, however the diabetic does not eat her own creations.
You can't help but fall in love with the way Matt makes his way into Nic's ordered life and quickly settles himself in and shows her new ways to look at things. Nic however has her eyes opened from her very vanilla life by Matt, but gets scared off him when she realises that she cannot give him what he deserves.
Love how the whole family are a part of this novel and that the family support and help the lovers come back to gather (thanks to his mom).
I'm waiting with baited breath for the next book.

Deep in Crimson (Return to Sanctuary #2) by Sarah Gilman
The Book
Release Date: 24 September 2013
Kidnapped by humans and raised in a research facility, Jett was taught to believe his own race of demons insidious and violent. But a friendship with the archangel Raphael shatters Jett’s reality. Caught between two worlds, his first months of freedom find him lingering on the fringes of his home colony, Sanctuary.
When the human who stole Jett captures another demon youth from Sanctuary, Jett learns of the real plan—to steal Raphael’s archangel grandchildren. Jett wants to bring his captor to justice, but he must overcome the lies from his past and join forces with the demon Guardians, and the demon child’s older sister, Lexine.
Irresistible attraction grows between Jett and Lexine, but Lexine’s prophetic dreams of being mated to a poacher make her wary. And if Jett goes through the all-consuming process of becoming a Guardian, he may forfeit any chance they have of being together.
My Opinion 5 STARS
** Copy provided by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an honest review**
This is another brilliant book by Sarah Gilman. I love this world that she has created with the Archangels and Demon protectors, and Jetts story can't help but bring you even further in. I TOTALLY fell for Jett, he has suffered so much and still stayed so strong.
Lexine is also another strong character, her help in reaching out to Jett is lovely, and you can see how Jett could easily fall for someone as strong as her. Even through pain she is strong and does what she needs to.
We learn a lot more about the demons in this book and the special abilities that they have. Would have loved an epilogue, but hope to see all of the characters in further books.
Cant wait for the next book in the series.

Wings of Redemption (Return to Sanctuary 0.5) by Sarah Gilman
The Book
Release Date: 1 December 2012
Reading Order: Stand Alone
Humans and archangels don’t mix on the best occasions. When Saffron Morin goes to the gates of the demon colony, Eden, in search of her sister, she meets an archangel who is curious one minute and hostile the next, and she ends up the colony’s “guest” against her will.
Kestrel’s archangel psychic talent tells him the human woman’s life is in danger. Despite her family’s association with poachers who hunt archangels for their valuable feathers, he vows to save her life. Enemies by birth, lovers by choice, they give in to growing attraction as days pass.
Even if he succeeds in saving her life, he must hurt her to protect others of his kind, and he may not be able to live with himself after a betrayal he has no choice but to commit. In order to find redemption, the Collector’s daughter and an archangel must first find each other.
My Opinion 5 STARS
Having read this after book one I already knew about the world Ms Gilman can weave within her books.
I loved this series from book one, and this novella did not disappoint.
Kestrel (Kes) was an intriguing character, and I loved how he blossomed out of his shell upon meeting Saffron, even when he found out her true identity.
Saffron was another good character who seemed to get a lot of information from Kes even though it could have proven costly. I even liked Kes's demon protector, who was a good friend to him.
I just wish that this had been novel length instead of a novella.

Nothing Waits Forever by Cyndi Raye
The Book
Release Date: 20 November 2013
Abby is a free spirit who was raised by parents of the 70's, who taught her life is what you make it. When tragedy strikes and she settles in the Keys, she makes a life helping others and dressing up as Pippi Longstocking for the patients at a local hospice.
An incident with a hot doctor leads Abby on a search within herself. Her plans don't include a man who drives her to distraction when ever he is near. Abby can't decide if she wants to stay and make a life with him or set about on her planned adventure. Was the one thing she always searched for right in front of her?
Jon and Abby's story will take you from an incident at the Urgent Care Center to a tragedy at a famous bar on Duval Street to a stake out in a campground.
This is a clean read, with a bit of sauce and spice included. Just like the Florida Keys, no one knows what kind of adventures await.
My Opinion 3 STARS
A sweet book for those who only want a little kissing with their story and nothing else. A soft hearted romance with plenty of action and drama to keep you turning to the next page.
We met Jon in the previous book as the twin of Jake Hatfield.
Jon seemed the series type in the first book, but in this one we get to see deeper into him as a person and his nature. Abby as the free spirit really helps him loosen up and has his protective streak running hot and wild.
Abby learns well that not everything is what it seems and that she has been deceived her whole life. She handles it all rather well, but does seem a little immature at times.
A sweet read.

Overexposed by Noelle Adams
The Book
Release Date: 30 May 2014
For five years, Leah has been known as the fame whore who screwed Kevin Grayson, son of Hollywood royalty, as a step up the ladder to stardom and then maliciously exposed footage of their most intimate moments to the world. Only Leah knows Kevin is the guilty one, using the public sympathy to advance his career and breaking her heart in the process.
Leah isn’t naïve anymore. She’s given up on romance, and she’ll do whatever necessary to prove she hasn’t been defeated. So when she needs another shot of notoriety to ensure the success of her new restaurant, at the same time Kevin needs some PR help of his own, she agrees to a crazy plan.
She can fake a two-week romantic vacation with Kevin, pretending to rekindle their relationship for the eyes of the world. And she can resist Kevin’s breathtaking sexiness, even in such close quarters. And she absolutely won’t fall for any of his lies.
My Opinion 5 STARS
** Copy provided by Netgalley and Noelle Adams for an honest review**
I think that this was the raunchiest book i've read by Noelle Adams.
It starts five years in the past where both Leah and Kevin have other partners but are getting closer as friends. It then alternates from present to past to see how and why they got together and how things blew up in their face.
Both have emotional scars from their past especially Leah who was completely broken when private images were splashed around of her and Kevin in intimate moments.
Both however come to a startling realisation and a few home truths and the chemistry between them really ignites the pages.
Noelle Adams is an author that I'm certainly finding that when a new book has come out that I make a beeline for it. I think that my only disappointment was that there was no epilogue, but that could be me just wishing that the book didn't finish so quickly, but it would have been nice to see what happened a little longer down the line.

A Demon and Her Scot (Welcome to Hell #3) by Eve Langlais
Release Date: 20 August 2013
An unlikely duo, the golfing match from Hell, and a devil determined to win, even if he has to cheat. Lucifer’s up to his matchmaking mischief again in this fast-paced, humorous jaunt into the bowels of the pit. Think you can handle the heat?
“Fetch me a Scot,” Lucifer commands. Sounds simple, except the skirt-wearing jerk won’t cooperate. But Aella isn’t one to give up. Willing or not, she delivers her target to the Lord of Sin. In retaliation, the much-too-sexy Scot has Aella assigned as his bodyguard for the golfing match from Hell.
One shot ruined Niall’s life. A second shot could help him regain it. Niall sold his soul once to win a lady’s heart only to end up betrayed. Does he dare take a risk and give love a second chance?
My Opinion 5 STARS
Another brilliant book in the series that will have you laughing out loud. Seriously the way all the characters interact, especially with Lucifer is epic.
Niall is a Scottish vampire who was turned when he joined hell when he was eventually killed. Seems the girl he won after his golf match was not so innocent after all and his blade found both her neck and his rivals.
Aella is a demon Hunter who is ordered by Lucifer to collect the Scot as he needs him to help with his swing in order to win the up-coming golf match involving God and Zeus and some others.
Both Niall and Aella fall very quickly for each other and have naughty relations faster than in the other books of the series.
As ever both are possessive at are at first unable to Say those magic words, bringing that their lust will go soon enough. But their banter will have you laughing and their sexual tension will have you gripped.
I really LOVE this series.
Date with Death (Welcome to Hell #2.5) by Eve Langlais
Release Date: 28 June 2013
Note: Date With Death was originally published in 2010 by Liquid Silver Books. This July 2013 re-release (with new cover) is a slightly expanded version, with new scenes featuring Hell's favorite matchmaker, Lucifer, so to incorporate this novella into the Welcome to Hell series.
~*~*~
His mission was to harvest her soul, but he captured her heart instead.
Marigold has a date with Death, but when she foils his plan to take her soul back to Hell, she invites him to dinner instead.
Mictain, an Aztec god who now collects the dead for Satan, is baffled at his interest in the plump human who can see him. Intrigued--and in lust--he can’t help pursuing her. But things are never simple when gods are involved.
Lucifer, Lord of Hell tries to warn him away and even Marigold’s long lost father decides to butt in. But, despite the opposition, things heat up between them, and Marigold learns, when Death comes calling, it’s best to get naked and invite him into bed—and her heart.
My Opinion 4 STARS
A very erotic, sexy novella.
The only reason I didn't give this book five stars is because I felt it would have been better as a full length novel.
Marigolds is a very confident, sexy, curvy witch who first meets Mictain the Aztec God of death when she is brewing a potion to get rid of her freckles.
Maintain is sinfully yummy character, and yet another character in the series who gives Lucifer sass, mind you so does Marigold.
Just a few days together turns both into a mess for each other and really ups their heat for each other.
Although Lucifer does an actively set the couple up, he very much interested and we get to see more of the naughty man. Yippee.
I do hope that we get a book for him and mother earth, I would be delightfully naughty.

A Demon and His Psycho (Welcome to Hell #2) by Eve Langlais
Release Date: 17 July 2012
Warning:This story centers around a grumpy demon holding onto an ancient vow and a perky psycho (with killer tendencies) who is determined to make him snap. There's cursing, melt-your-screen hotness, messed up religious tropes and snort out loud fun. If you enjoy raunchy humor, sizzling moments and already know you’re going to Hell, then dive on in.
I'm not crazy. I just have anger issues.
With a giggle and an outrageous mouth – perfect for things other than talking – Katie comes flying into Xaphan’s life, upsetting centuries of self-inflicted misery. How can he stay true to the one he lost when a bubbly psycho, with mismatched eyes, keeps consuming his thoughts – and awakening his desire?
So she was a tad bit nuts, Katie’s insanity came in handy as the Devil’s favorite problem solver. But killing’s not on the menu when a dragon goes missing, and worse, Lucifer teams her up with Hell’s grumpiest demon. His rejection of her advances only makes her more determined to seduce him. And despite her violent reputation, a part of her is oddly tempted to let him live.
Welcome to Hell where the rules are always changing, the ash is constantly raining, and Lucifer is watching, waiting to steal your soul…
My Opinion 5 STARS
Another brilliant book in the series.
I loved that we already know that Lucifer is playing match maker with some of his better staff. It gives us a whole new way to look at him especially the way some of them get away with talking to him.
Xaphan is our moody demon, a man who made a vow to his lover three hundred years ago and still lives by it ever faithfully.
Katie is the fun loving, bubbly psycho intent on seducing him and getting him to lighten up. The problem is that after she sleeps with a man, she feels vulnerable and ends up killing her lover after the first time.
On a mission set by Lucifer the pair set out to find Lucifer's granddaughters pet pink Dragon. The pain both rub watch other the wrong way and the right way. It is mainly Xaphan that struggles with the feeling she brings out in him. Both also have a psychotic possessive side.
Loved the wit and banter between the two, especially when Xaphan started to loosen up.

A Demon and His Witch (Welcome to Hell #1) by Eve Langlais
Release Date: 4 June 2012
An incorrigible demon meets his match when Lucifer pairs him with a witch.
Remy's not ready to settle down, it wouldn't be fair to the ladies who love him so much. A giving demon, why would he deny them the pleasure of his excellent technique? But his view on monogamy changes when he meets a saucy witch with a firm grasp of the word 'No!' Who could resist the challenge? However, before he can put his demonizing days behind him, he needs to catch the bad guys, save the witch, and find a way to convince her to love him, not kill him.
Warning: This story contains a sexy demon with corny pickup lines and a sassy witch who works for Satan. There is coarse language, hot scenes, a twisted version of Hell and a whole lot of giggles. If you possess an open mind, a good sense of humor and a tainted soul, then read at your own peril.
My Opinion 5 STARSThis series is a spin off after the Princess of Hell books.
This is another great Eve Langlais book, with sexual tension and witty banter a plenty.
Both characters seemed played off each other with their barbs with ended up into verbal foreplay. Everything Remy said had a sexual tone to it which should have a times been OTT, but it so worked and his mum is awesome.
Our sexy witch and her sharp tongue were also funny and i loved her relationship with Lucifer, it really is almost like a father daughter relationship.
Can't wait to open the next book in the series.

If there’s a choice between love and friendship, will Edward sacrifice one for the other? Will he be able to live with his choice and never ask himself what if he chose the other?
My Opinion 1 STAR
** Copy provided by the author for an honest review**
Oh Dear, where do I start. This book took me a few attempts to get through it, picking it up and putting it down.
The write up for this book was intriguing and the only good part of this book was that it was from the male perspective, which was refreshing, however i think that was the only bit I liked.
Unfortunately, sometimes you can tell from the first page that you are going to struggle with a book, and unfortunately, that happened in this case. I did make myself read all of it as I feel I hate not being able to finish a book. Unfortunately I found myself keep checking to see how much longer I had left to read.
The book annoyed my on so many levels. First Edwards inner dialogue was completely annoying and irritating. It just made him look unappealing.
All of the characters had no depth to them and did not process as the book went on, they also were completely immature and one minute they were talking, the next they were shouting at each other. None of the emotions flowed well and it felt clunky and awkward to read.
I could not connect to any other the characters, even the girls were awkward to read about. The last chapter was from Ady's POV and was put in via song/verse and really added nothing the the story.
This was a very disappointing read for me, especially when the write up had it sounding so promising.

BLOG TOUR (Review, Excerpt & Giveaway) The Year We Hid Away (The Ivy Years #2) by Sarina Bowen
The Book
Release Date: 26 May 2014
She's hiding something big. He's hiding someone small.
Scarlet Crowley's life was torn apart the day father was arrested for unspeakable crimes. Now the shock has worn off, but not the horror.
It's a safe bet that Scarlet is the only first year at Harkness College who had to sneak past TV news trucks parked on her front lawn just to leave town. But college will be Scarlet's fresh start. Clutching a shiny new student ID -- with a newly minted name on it -- she leaves it all behind. Even if it means lying to the boy she's falling for.
Bridger McCaulley is a varsity hockey star known for being a player both on and off the ice. But a sobering family crisis takes that all away. Protecting his sister means a precarious living arrangement and constant deception. The only bright spot in his week is the few stolen hours he spends with Scarlet.
The two form a tentative relationship based on the understanding that some things must always be held back. But when grim developments threaten them both, going it alone just won't work anymore. And if they can't learn to trust one another now, the families who let them down will take everything they've struggled to keep.
New Adult romance, including sexual situations. Suitable for ages 17+
My Opinion 5 STARS
** Copy provided by the author for an honest review**
I have serious Bridger crush. Honestly I loved book one in the series, but this book is SOOO much better. Hell that guy is just awesome. Bright, Sporty, does anything to keep his little sister innocent and safe, then he also manages to carve a place in Scarlets heart and manages to keep her sane in her crumbling world.
Scarlet is also a very strong character and you really had to feel for her and the way her family are treating her, along with the residents of her town.
Both characters are dealing with a boat load of issues, making them stronger and wiser than their peers and I loved that we both met new characters and the we still got to see a little of Hartley and Callahan.
You can read this novel as a stand-a-lone book, however to get a better feel of the story and the series I do recommend that you read the first book in the series.

EXCERPT
“Stalker,”
Bridger said, cocking one ginger eyebrow at me. “I need to hear you play.”
“Play what?”
“A song. I
want to hear one.”
“Um… maybe.
If you can do me a little favor.”
He crossed
his arms, and I was momentarily distracted by the curved shape of his forearm
muscles. “Favor? What’s this going to cost me?”
“Well… could
you stop calling me Stalker?” I knew my objection to his nickname was a little
silly. But the past year had made me sensitive to anything even remotely
creepy.
His green
eyes went wide. “Sure. That’s it?”
I nodded.
“Okay. Now play me a song,” Bridger said.
My hands felt a little sweaty, and I had to
wipe them on my jeans. I shouldn’t have been nervous, because I spent a lot of
restless hours last year playing the living crap out of my guitar. When nobody
at school will speak to you, and there’s a full drama playing inside your
house, there is really no better way to spend time than practicing music. But
still, I was anxious to impress.
Putting the guitar strap over my head, I checked
my tuning. Then I launched in to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Sweet Home Alabama.
With its distinctive opening riff, I knew it would sound impressive. And I’d
played it a hundred times before.
I kept my eyes on the fret board, not because
I needed to look, but because I felt shy. After the first few bars I began to
relax, the music pulling me in.
When the song was done, I waited until the
last note died away. And then I couldn’t avoid his face any longer. Bridger was
looking down at me with big eyes, dark green, the color of the sea before a
storm. “Damn, Scarlet,” he whispered. “You amaze me.”
My cheeks did their thing, becoming hot. I
busied myself with removing the guitar strap from around my neck. But I fumbled
it, twisting my hair in the strap. “Ouch,” I swore.
Bridger reached up to untangle me, and I felt
my status tumble quickly from “possibly cool” right down to “dork.” But just as
I was beating myself up about it, I noticed something peculiar. After Bridger
pushed my tangled hair off my shoulder, his hand stayed there, warming my skin.
Then, his fingers cupped my cheek. My gaze flew to his, and I found him
studying me.
Ever so slowly, he leaned in. Then his lips
barely whispered across mine, and I felt myself break out in goose bumps. But
he didn’t kiss me properly. Instead, his lips came to hover over the corner of
my mouth, a spot on my body which I’d never guessed was so sensitive. “Is this
okay?” he whispered, his lips so close that I could feel the words vibrate on
my skin. “I find you a little hard to read.”
Hell yes. But I didn’t trust my voice to answer him. Instead, I turned my
face the tiniest distance towards his, hoping he’d understand. My heart slammed
against my ribs as his mouth found mine…

The Author
Sarina Bowen makes her home in the Green Mountains of Vermont, where
she lives with her family, eight chickens and a large pile of skis and hockey
equipment. She is a graduate of Yale University.
Sarina writes the popular Ivy Years series:
#1 The Year
We Fell Down (March 2014)
#2 The Year We
Hid Away (June 2014)
For Harlequin-e, Sarina Bowen writes the Gravity series:
#1 Coming
In From the Cold (May 2014)
#2 Falling From the Sky (December 2014)
Q&A for Sarina
Bowen:
Q: Is Harkness
College from the Ivy Years series based on Yale?
A: Heck yes! But it’s based on a Yale which has gone soft and fuzzy
in my mind, in all the best ways. So I’ve fictionalized it to avoid the errors
and inaccuracies that I’d be likely to make if I tried to get everything just
right.
Q: How many Ivy
Years books do you have planned?
A: Five, if you’re counting the novella. After Bridger’s book, a
novella is planned for one of Scarlet’s roommates. (Blond Katie.) The title is Blond Date (Ivy Years 2.5), and it’s
funny as heck. Book 3 will be titled The
Understatement of the Year, and it’s a heartbreaker. Book 4 is still a
secret! You can read a bit more about these titles on The Ivy Years page on my
website.
Q: How are the Gravity books different from The Ivy Years?
A: The Gravity books are a heck of a lot steamier than my New Adult
titles. And book #1 is angstier, in my opinion. They’re set in Vermont,
featuring top-level snowsports athletes. That part is so much fun for me,
because we really do have a lot of awesome athletes that live up here. Today my
husband spotted Olympic medalist Hannah Kearney in the grocery store. That’s
the kind of celeb sightings we have on the Vermont / New Hampshire border.
Q: How did you come
to write romance?
A: I’ve always loved novels—all kinds of novels. And my goal is to
make the reader do three things when she’s reading my book: cry, laugh, and
sigh. Romance is the best vehicle for that goal, and I’ve really enjoyed the
ride.

The Year We Fell Down (The Ivy Years #1) by Sarina Bowen
The Book
Release Date: 24 March 2014
The sport she loves is out of reach. The boy she loves has someone else.
What now?
She expected to start Harkness College as a varsity ice hockey player. But a serious accident means that Corey Callahan will start school in a wheelchair instead.
Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be real Adam Hartley, another would-be hockey star with his leg broken in two places. He’s way out of Corey’s league.
Also, he’s taken.
Nevertheless, an unlikely alliance blooms between Corey and Hartley in the “gimp ghetto” of McHerrin Hall. Over tequila, perilously balanced dining hall trays, and video games, the two cope with disappointments that nobody else understands.
They’re just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together. All Corey knows is that she’s falling. Hard.
But will Hartley set aside his trophy girl to love someone as broken as Corey? If he won’t, she will need to find the courage to make a life for herself at Harkness — one which does not revolve around the sport she can no longer play, or the brown-eyed boy who’s afraid to love her back.
My Opinion 5 STARS
** Copy provided by the author for an honest review**
I really loved this friends to lovers book.
Both Hartley and Callahan make friends very quickly over their current circumstances and a hockey console game, that brings out both of their competitive sides. Hartley broke his leg in two places and so is unable to play hockey for college this year.
Across the hallway, Callahan move in and finds a friend with her roommate Dana. Callahan was in a hockey accident last year that left her in a wheelchair and still struggling to walk. She will never be able to play the sport she loves again.
Both look out for and after the other as they spend more and more time together, however, Hartley has a girlfriend who is currently in europe. The only bit i didn't like in their relationship was when they fondled on his birthday as it was technically cheating, but then being a realist, these things do happen when alcohol is involved along with lust.
Both made a wonderful couple and it was zoo nice to see how much he cared for and did for Callahan, especially when they got together. I'm so glad that they got a HEA together.
