Extreme Love (Love to the Extreme 1) - Abby Niles

The Book
Release Date:  30 April 2013
New body. New clothes. New men.

Used to the average Joe, Caitlyn Moore is overwhelmed when the supremely masculine Dante Jones walks into her life and expresses an interest in her. At first she pushes him away, refusing to encourage the attention of a cage fighter. Then she learns Dante has a love ‘em and leave ‘em reputation. What better way to fine-tune her non-existent flirting skills than with a male who won’t stick around? But Dante has no intention of being a practice dummy; he’s out for all or nothing. Now Caitlyn must accept Dante—violent career and all—or let him go.

Dante “Inferno” Jones has one goal: win the Welterweight Championship. At a time when focus is crucial, the last thing he needs is a distraction. Yet Caitlyn Moore becomes a challenge he can’t resist. When the light-hearted pursuit shifts to a battle to win her heart, his focus is shot. Faced with losing the biggest match of his career, Dante must decide if his extreme life also has room for Extreme Love.

My Opinion  3 STARS
This book focused on Dante and Caitlyn.

Caitlyn is a woman who has been big most of her life but has now lost eighty pounds but still sees the big girl she was before and has very little confidence with the new her. She is therefore completely unprepared when MMA fighter Dante 'Inferno' Jones decides that he like her.

Dante has fought hard to be in his position and does not give up anything with a fight. When Cait shows herself to be so different to the usual girls he is surrounded by he is instantly drawn to her.

In a change for a romance book its not the man who has the attachment issues it the girl. Cait struggles to have confidence with her new body and is unsure how to act with a man actively pursuing her.

A good book to read that sweeps you up in the romance and true feeling from both sides.

My Opinion  2 STARS
**Provided by Netgalley and Season Publishing for an honest review**

I can honestly say that I didn't like this book.

Although there was a good idea for a story there, it wasn't plotted well and the writing?  OMG where do I start?  I guess the easiest thing to say that the writing was atrocious and hard to follow.

The sex scenes were laughable and you didn't feel any of the emotions were true and it was hard to relate to any of the characters.

At times I actually rolled my eyes the book was that bad.  I mean, how often can one creme oneself, have another orgasm... and would you really , after you have just been attacked go off with a strange man?

I honestly would not recommend this book to anyone, but if you really want to try it, get it from the library, this is not a book to buy.

The accident ended her dancing career and sent her fleeing back to Chicago. Skye is convinced that her stalker caused the crash, and she fears that he won’t stop pursuing her, not until she’s dead.

When someone breaks into her apartment in Chicago, Skye turns to the one man she believes can protect her—Trace Weston. Once, Trace was her lover. Author's Note: MINE TO TAKE is a sexy romantic suspense novella—it contains approximately 41,000 words. MINE TO TAKE is intended for adults. Sexy situations and adult language will be found within the pages of this story—please consider yourself warned.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**Provided by Netgalley and Cynthia Eden for an honest review**

Wowzers...

This book has so many twists and turns in that who I thought was the stalkers changed numerous times.  Even then I didn't guess who it was until he was he was revealed.

The story was completely captivating and the love and trust between the two characters was absolute.  Frightening circumstances brought her back to him and you see how will they fit together having grown up together.

I would seriously recommend this book to all romance lovers who wish to have a whodunit woven in so beautifully.

Officer Off Limits (Line of Duty 3) - Tessa Bailey

The Book
Release Date: 10 June 2013
His need to possess her is non-negotiable.

Story Brooks’ fiancé just called off their wedding two weeks before the happy day. As if that isn't bad enough, her semi-estranged father, an infamous NYPD hostage negotiator, has suffered a heart attack. Not wanting to examine her lack of emotion over the broken engagement, she hops on a plane to reconnect with her father before it’s too late.

Playboy hostage negotiator Daniel Chase has never, not once, been refused by a woman, so when a debate over hospital snack foods with a delectable kindergarten teacher ends in flat-out rejection, he makes it his mission to seduce her. His only obstacle? She’s the daughter of his mentor who implicitly forbade Daniel from pursuing her.

Despite her father’s warnings and Daniel’s troubled past, Daniel and Story can’t resist their intense attraction to one another. But when the reason for her fiancé’s abrupt wedding cancellation comes to light, can Story and Daniel's already forbidden relationship survive?

My Opinion  5 STARS
Another fantastic read from Tessa Bailey.

The flaws in her characters really bring them alive and make them that much more realistic.

Tessa knows how to make you swoon over the alpha males, leaving you with yet another wanted book boyfriend.

It story is fast paced, but not so fast you can't keep up and I really hope there will be another book in the series.

This is a brilliant fast read for all romance lovers.

PLAGIARISM ALERT - DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK

We all know how hard an honest author works to get her book publish and put out there to the greater public.  How bad is it then that some individuals capitalise on something good by plagiarising their work.

Therefore it saddens me to say that Jordin B. Williams book Amazingly Broken is a book of such obvious plagiarism from Tammara Webber's Easy and from the book Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire.

To read more, please see the link below and tell as many other individuals as you can.  http://dearauthor.com/book-reviews/the-plagiarizing-of-tammara-webbers-easy-by-jordin-williams/?fb_source=pubv1

Apollyon (Covenant 4) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Book
Release Date: 4 April 2013
Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

My Opinion  5 STARS
Wow. This book never stops and ends with a punch.

All the characters seriously grow in this book especially Alex and Aiden. Alex turns from a self centered girl to a mature adult with a large heart.

It also shows us how strong Aiden is and that he would do anything for Alex and his brother. Seth on the other hand you feel a little sorry for, but know he is going to get what he deserves.

There are lots of twists and turns, some questions are answered and others are opened up making you want to read more.

Apollyon is a masterfully crafted book that deserves a place on any bookshelf.

Elixir (Covenant 3.5) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Book
Release Date: 27 November 2012
Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

My Opinion  5 STARS
This novella is told from Aiden's POV.

This novella shows how much Aiden will do for Alex and just how much he loves her.

He does not give up in his faith of her and does what he can to make things easier for her which, at most points, is not appreciated.

Aiden no longer struggles with his feelings for Alex, and now, no longer cares who knows how much she means to him.

We also see more from the Gods on the approaching war against the pures and half-bloods. We also see how much Apollo cares for Alex.

A good filler to gain greater prespective for the next novel Apollyon!!

Deity (Covenant 3) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Book
Release Date: 6 November 2012
"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

My Opinion  5 STARS
This series keeps getting better and better!! And it's totally made of some of the best awesome sauce around.

The book ends on yet another cliff hangar, totally amping the oooooh factor, wanting me to immediately rip into the next book in the series and not stop until I find out what happens next.

Armentrout is a master in her craft, spinning webs that completely ensnare you into the story so much so that it is hard to put the book down.

I love the complete faith that Aiden has in Alex and never lets her give up.  They have a wonderful relationship.

Lots has happened to Alex and you can't help but be enamoured at her strength.  She really is one tough cookie, and the battle hasn't even finished yet.

While your all waiting for Before Jamaica Lane to be released Samantha Young's novella Until Fountain Bridge is now available.  Find the cover and book information below:

The Book
Ellie Carmichael had a crush on Adam Sutherland, her brother, Braden’s, best friend, for years, and although Adam treated her with proprietary concern he made it clear he thought of her only as a little sister.

Over the years, as Ellie’s crush develops into love, her romantic idealism makes it difficult for her to move on. To make matters worse, as she’s gotten older, Adam’s attitude has changed toward her. His affection for her is now joined by attraction, but his loyalty to Braden, and his fear of losing the only family he has, stops him from claiming Ellie the way she wishes he would.

But one night his attraction is put to the test, and as much as Adam would like things to remain the same everything changes between them in a simple brush of the lips.

Soon lust, love, jealousy and heartbreak combine to force change upon their relationship… and Adam discovers the hard way that life is too damn short to spend it on regret.

Pure (Covenant 2) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Book
Release Date: 3 April 2012
There is need. And then there is Fate...
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.
When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.
When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

My Opinion  5 STARS
Wow. This is an all actioned packed novel complete with romance, double crossing, magic, intrigue and some damn sexy men.

I do with however that I had been warned that there was a blub fest section in it as then I could have avoided crying at my desk during my lunch break, trying desperately to hid said fact.

Alex grows as a character and I really warm up to Seth as a character, but I am still team Aiden.

Leon is a strange character. He's kind of there, but not there in the story. I have to wonder if something big will happen with him future down the line.

Also what will become of lucien, is he a baddie as Alex thinks him to be? And what of Marcus? Lots of loose ends that can be twisted and turned into something else. I like that not everything is as obvious as it seems.

I'm so looking forward to see what happens next.

Half-Blood (Covenant 1) - Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Book
Release Date: 18 October 2011
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

My Opinion  5 STARS
So I TOTALLY get why people are saying that this series reminds them of the Vampire Academy series, but there are definitely enough different story lines, twists and turns that it also feels totally new.

Let me just state that I am completely TEAM AIDEN. Seth, although I can see things happening with him at some point just won't cut it in the end.

Alex, a half-blood, is really put through the ringer in this book and has so much to contend with that it's surprising that she doesn't go completely nuts. It shows her strength of character and how hard she tries to lean on others only when she has too. Completely the norm for lead characters in series like this.

Just like the Vampire Academy series you will completely devour the book in one sitting if given a chance, just like I did. Luckily I have the next book sitting on my kindle waiting to be read as I need me more of my Aiden fix :)

**This book was provided to me by the author for an honest review**

This book grips you from the moment that you start reading the first page.  It pulls you into a world of mermaids and a new race of underwater people called Artagasian's.

Theia learns that she is not fully human, but also part Artagasian, meaning that she is a Siren and should not exist and would have been killed at birth.  Able to live on both land and underwater she is hunted by others who would want to use her for their own selfish purposes.

The story ends with a cliff hangar and you can't wait for the next book to come out.  I will be waiting to see what else this author comes out with.

Fire (Elements of Power 1) - Heather James

The Book
Release Date: 5 January 2013
Is control over the elements a gift, or a curse?

Roxy thinks that she is in control of everything: with flames flaring at her fingertips and an equally fiery attitude, what more could she need? But then she meets Brae, a prince from a rival Realm, who turns her assumptions of superiority upside down.

Jasmine has none of Roxy’s confidence or intensity. But she does have a secret - and Brae - and she’s not going to give either up willingly.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**This book was provided to me by the author for an honest review**

First, i'm glad that I didn't judge the book by it's cover, as I would have totally dismissed it.

This author is up there with the likes of Robin Hobb and Maria V. Snyder in her telling of other worlds and really brings you into the story. So much so that I could hardly put the story down and even woke up thinking about the story.

The book alternates between the views of Roxy aka Roxanne a Helian and Jazz aka Jasmine who was brought up as an Arcan and both bring a different way into how each side looks at things.

Roxy is a princess with the power of fire and control and has the personality to match the fiery streaks that are in her hair showing the world of her race and power.

Jazz, found in a basket in her adopted fathers boat feels the cold and her best friend is Brae the Arcan prince who has the silver streaks in his hair telling the world of his power with air (wind). Jazz has recently found purple streaks in her hair and thinks that she is turning into a monster.

After having a prophetic dream, Jazz gets a friend to help her get to the Helian realm where delegates from the other realms have gathered (including Brae) for a conference for the first time in many many years. She finds Brae and tells him of her dreams, but scared of what she is becoming hides the purple streaks in her hair at all times.

The ending of the book is left on a cliff hangar, but also feels a little rushed. However that does not sour what is an excellent story and I would gladly recommend it for others to read.

I wait with baited breath for the next book in the series.

Skinny Bitch in Love - Kim Barnouin

The Book
Release Date: 4 June 2013

From the coauthor of the phenomenal #1 New York Timesbestselling Skinny Bitch lifestyle series—a clever, kick-ass novel about friendship, romance, and making healthy choices both in and out of the kitchen.

Clementine Cooper is a born vegan, committed in every way to the healthy lifestyle she was raised with on her father’s organic farm. But how bad could a little butter be? Bad enough to get the ambitious and talented sous chef fired when an influential food critic discovers dairy in Clem’s butternut squash ravioli with garlic sage sauce. Though she was sabotaged by a backstabbing coworker, Clem finds herself unceremoniously blackballed from every vegan kitchen in L.A.

Like any vegan chef worth her salt, however, Clem knows how to turn lemons into delicious, cruelty-free lemonade cupcakes. She launches the Skinny Bitch Cooking School in hopes of soon opening her own café in an empty space near her apartment. But on the first day of class, sexy millionaire restaurateur Zach Jeffries puts a fork in her idea with his own plans for the space—a steakhouse. Clem is livid. For a carnivore, Zach is more complicated than she anticipated. He’s also a very good kisser. But could dating one of the most eligible bachelors in the city—and a meat-eater—be as bad for Clem as high-fructose corn syrup? Shouldn’t she fall instead for a man who seems to be her perfect match in every way—like Alexander Orr, a very cute, very sweet vegan chef?

Clem thought she was open-minded, but as she confronts the challenges of budding entrepreneurship, old rivals, ex-boyfriends, and tempting suitors, she begins to wonder if she can ever say “I love you” to a man who hates tofu.

My Opinion  2 STARS
**Provided by Netgalley and Gallery Books for an honest review**

I must say that I was disappointed by this book.  The book title and the book blurb held such promise.

I felt completely preached to about vegan ways and the was far too much info regarding the foods and recipes used.  It definitely felt more like a half assed book talking just about food with a few other story details twisted into with a romance that seemed to fall more or less flat rather than sizzle like you would have hoped.

I would recommend that you borrow this book from the library rather than buy it.

When she pushes him away, he takes a drastic step so she can no longer escape. The close proximity throws the instinct into overdrive. Can he control the need engrained in him until he’s certain she will reciprocate the bond, or will a moment of weakness doom him to hell on earth?

My Opinion  3 STARS
**Provided by Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an honest review**

This book has your usual scenario.  Boy and girl meet.  Boy is all alpha male and wants to join with his mate.  The mate is scared and refuses to bond even though she has developed feeling  for his and continues to push him away.  An event happens where one is injured and something happens.  The woman then realises that she can't live without him after all, where upon she then has to get said mate to, well, mate with her.  End of story.

The story telling was good, and yes, it does keep you captivated and it did have some concepts interwoven that I had not read before giving the book a slight edge and newness to the whole werewolf story.

Basically this book is about overcoming your fears for love.

Nexi Jones—part witch, part guardian, and wannabe kick-ass warrior—can’t throw a punch or conjure the simplest magic. But that doesn’t stop her from hunting the werewolves who slaughtered her human family. She’ll have her revenge, but only if Kyden, the elite guardian, would get the hell out of her way.

Kyden can’t decide if Nexi wants to get herself killed or if she just has no clue what she’s doing. But her father made it clear: keep Nexi safe…or else. Of course, the more Nexi runs toward revenge, the more she needs Kyden’s aid, and as she grows into her power and confidence, so does his desire to protect her. The only problem? She’d rather he dropped dead.

But when a vampire paints a bull’s-eye on Nexi’s back, she’s hard-pressed to deny Kyden and the help he’s offering. Even if it means getting her revenge will be a little bit harder. At least it will still be as sweet.

This story was previously published elsewhere under the title The Willow in 2010, and has been revised and expanded for Entangled Publishing.

My Opinion  2 STARS (this is being nice)

To be honest i was completely bored for the first half of the book and thought that i was wasting my time.  Luckily the second half of the book improved, but not enough that I would actually go out and buy the book.

You would have thought the idea of men in kilts, vampires, werewolves, witches and guardians sounds exciting, but the way this story was told is a total turn off.  There is a good premise behind the writing.

Nexi seemed to be bad tempered and too self absorbed while Kyden was just plain boring.  Flinn well he didn't add much and Haven only added slightly to the story.

Overall i wasn't impressed with this book and would suggest that if you want to read this book you borrow it from the library.

Don't Bite the Bridesmaid (Sons of Kane 1) - Tiffany Allee

The Book
Release Date 27 May 2013
Alice Shepard needs one thing: a date for her sister's wedding. And not just any date. A hunk who will make her fiancé rue the day he left her for her best friend. Her drop-dead gorgeous neighbor fits the bill—even if he is a bit quirky and never comes out during the day—and Alice has downed just enough appletinis to ask him. But she makes it quite clear that there will be no funny business.

Spending a week on a cruise ship full of humans while sleeping close to his sexy next-door neighbor sounds like a helluva bad idea to vampire Noah Thorpe. But his friends need time to get him out of a shotgun wedding—a vampire bonding that will tie his fate to a female vampire he's never met. And Alice's offer comes at just the right time.

What could possibly go wrong?

This was a sweet light read and fairly quick too. This would be a perfect book to read on your holiday abroad as something to smile at.

Alice and Noah started off slowly, but then they went up in flames together. Both falling hard very, very fast.

Definitely a quick read to recommend.
