COVER REVEAL - The Year We Fell Down (The Ivy Years #1) by Sarina Bowen

The Book
Release Date: 17 March 2014

She expected to start Harkness College as a varsity ice hockey player. But a serious accident means that Corey Callahan will start school in a wheelchair instead.

Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be real Adam Hartley, another would-be hockey star with his leg broken in two places. He’s way out of Corey’s league.

Also, he’s taken.

Nevertheless, an unlikely alliance blooms between Corey and Hartley in the “gimp ghetto” of McHerrin Hall. Over tequila, perilously balanced dining hall trays, and video games, the two cope with disappointments that nobody else understands.

They’re just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together. All Corey knows is that she’s falling. Hard.

But will Hartley set aside his trophy girl to love someone as broken as Corey? If he won’t, she will need to find the courage to make a life for herself at Harkness — one which does not revolve around the sport she can no longer play, or the brown-eyed boy who’s afraid to love her back.

The Author
Sarina Bowen writes contemporary romance and new adult fiction from the Green Mountains of Vermont.  She lives with her husband, two children, eight chickens and an unwieldy pile of ski and hockey equipment.

I can see why some may like this novel, but for me I did nothing which is surprising.  You would have thought a musician, time-travel and romance would do it, but it fell so flat I just wanted it over with.

The whole romance felt off for me and there were too many questions I had that were left unanswered.

Hard As It Gets (Hard Ink #1) by Laura Kaye

The Book
Release Date: 26 November 2013

Tall, dark, and lethal...

Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey's tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome--pure temptation to a very jaded Nick. He's left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander's daughter. Loyalty won't let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.

With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn't expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.

Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge..

My Opinion  5 STARS
This was another scorcher from Laura Kaye.

Both the characters and the back story have such depth, you could very much wonder if this was a true story, even though we know its not.

Nick is the ultimate in sexy.  An ex special forces man who is also a tattoo artist with a kind and loyal heart. It is not only an injury that causes him pain, but betrayal from his commander that he had trusted.  I would love to gets my hands on this man thats for sure.

Becca is also a very strong individual.  Its nice to have a female character than falls to pieces when things fall apart around her.  When she needs to she can put everything aside and focus on what she needs to even if she is scared.  The chemistry between both Nick and Becca was undeniably hot.

The other members of the Hard Ink team are also awesome.  Jeremy is a cool brother and has a good sense of humour.  The other members of Nicks team are a good bunch of guys even if they look intimidating and it was good to see the familiarity and loyalty they showed each other when they needed to, even if there was hostility between them at first.

I must admit, I'm gutted that I have waited so long to read this awesome-sauce book.

BLOG TOUR (Review & Excerpt) - Sapphire Blue by Gene Doucette

The Book
Release Date: 27 February 2014

WARNING: DARK THEMES, EXPLICIT CONTENT

Has Mara lost control, or has it been taken from her?

Mara Cantor’s life is boring and uncomplicated, and she likes it that way. She has her internship at the museum—a job she shares with her roommate, Davis—and while it is low-paying and occasionally mind-numbing, it gives her all the free time she needs to finish her thesis. And that is just fine.

But when Argent Leeds, the internationally famous playboy and raconteur, visits Mara’s museum, he brings with him the most exciting archeological discovery in decades: the Pazuzu gemstones. Long assumed to be nothing more than a myth by most scholars, the gemstones are rumored to possess mystical powers.

Between Argent, his gemstones, and Davis, Mara’s boring life has suddenly gotten very complicated. Now she is caught up in a sexual adventure that is either the most exciting time of her life . . . or the most terrifying.

This book leads you along quite nicely and you think its a fairly pleasant ride until two thirds of the way through. The book then abruptly turns into a dark WTF.

Certainly not for the faint-hearted but as i said the whole thing twists on its head the the darker uglier side comes out to play.

There is an erotic aspect to this book along with a thriller and paranormal aspect and it starts out as an ordinary erotic romance.

This book wont suit those who like generic romance books, but will those who like a bit of grit.

Excerpt
When Nina first saw the rack, she thought it would be funny to try it out just once, to see what it felt like to be attached to one. She told Marcus this and he laughed, but then he suggested she give it a try because why not? That was what the toys were there for—touching, exploring, maybe some shopping even. Nathan was a pervert, but his perversions had some taste, he said.
The rack looked like a sturdy, freestanding drying rod for clothing, except it was bolted to the floor and had chains dangling from the top bar with cuffs on the end. A second set of cuffs ran along the bottom bar. It took very little imagination for either of them to figure out how it was used.
Nina first stood under the middle bar and held up her arms so Marcus could clamp in her wrists. There was a thin layer of padding inside the metal cuff that made them a little bit more comfortable when tightened, for which she was grateful. At the time, Nina was only thinking she’d be locked into the manacles for a short while, so the degree of comfort was only a passing concern. Without the padding, she soon realized, her wrists would have been bloody messes.
But before she discovered that, Marcus had to finish attaching her.
He knelt down in front of her and looked at the ankle cuffs before concluding that they would only fit Nina if she first took off the boots.
The boots were what made the outfit she’d picked out for herself. It was not nearly as daring as some of the other costumes she’d seen over the course of the evening. It was essentially a French maid outfit, if the maid was a dominatrix. But the boots were the thing everyone loved, and so she loved them, too.
She hadn’t wanted to remove them. But she did want to feel what the cuffs felt like on her ankles, so when Marcus found the zipper that ran up the back of the knee and started pulling off the first boot, she didn’t protest. Truly, with her hands chained she could have done little more than complain, and when she realized that, she got a little excited.
The boots came off, but then Marcus didn’t look like he was done taking things off of her. How about we slip these off, too, he said, and then he put his hands up her skirt and slowly removed her panties. Nina thought she was supposed to be stopping him, but again, even if she wanted to, it wouldn’t have mattered, not with her hands cuffed.
She could have shouted. She’d heard someone on the other side of the room shouting, but nobody had run off to see what was the matter because it didn’t sound like a distressed scream. Nina decided then that if she was going to be shouting, it would only be to make a sound like that. Because it was a carnal sound. It was that sound that made Nina wonder what the rack was like, and why when Marcus decided she needed to be naked from the waist down Nina didn’t object. Anyone could have walked up and seen, except the skirt still covered her so it wasn’t so bad as that. And if they could see, maybe that was okay, too.
Marcus knelt down again. When he did, his face was right near her clit, and for a few rapid heartbeats Nina thought he was going to lean forward and kiss her there. But then the cold metal was clamped around her ankles.
Nina had been faintly disappointed then, both because Marcus hadn’t lingered below her waist and because once attached to the rack there was very little to be said for the experience. She could stand and move around a little. She couldn’t go anywhere, but that was all.
But then Marcus asked her if she was ready, and before she could answer, he loosened the vise holding her left wrist to the top bar and pulled it until her arms were spread in a Y formation and she couldn’t touch the ground any longer. And then he pulled again, and she could feel the chain attached to her ankles going taut.
With a little work he was able to separate the ankle chains as well, until her legs were open—not as wide as her arms but wide enough to expose her labia to the air. Everything waist-down was fully exposed, in fact, since her skirt rode up when her arms had been stretched.
Then she really couldn’t move.
That was when she would have asked Marcus to let her down had this still been a fun little game, but something had changed in the room. Nina didn’t know what that was—it was associated, in her mind, with the woman who had screamed, especially after she heard a second scream—but this something made it okay for Nina to stay where she was, chained and exposed.
Marcus felt it, too. He’d always taken care of her, financially and, in his own way, sexually, but he wasn’t an adventurous sort. But there he was telling her how blue her eyes were—which must have been the lighting, as her eyes were green—and producing, from out of nowhere, a leather flail.
This Marcus was rougher. He always acted like he was afraid to hurt her, but the Marcus with a flail in his hands seemed to want to. Not in a bad way—in the exact way she wanted. So he grabbed her long hair and pulled her head back and whispered things in her ear she’d never expected to hear from him. And then he unzipped the back of her outfit and pulled, and when the sleeves created a problem, he yanked on them until they tore and the costume ended up on the floor next to her boots, and she was naked.

Marcus started whipping her then…

Blindness by Ginger Scott

The Book
Release Date: 14 February 2014

It takes a while to know who you really are. And when you lose your way, sometimes it’s hard to find it again.

Charlie Hudson was on the verge of figuring that out when her dad—the only parent and friend she ever had—died suddenly. She was barely 18, and she was alone. So she went for easy—playing life safe, running away from a home that harbored nothing but bad memories and challenges and loving a man who would take her away from it all forever.

It’s funny how chance takes over when you need it most. And that’s exactly what brought Cody Carmichael into her life. A former motocross super star, Cody was now happy to be living the blue collar life, spending his days finishing up school and his nights under the hood of some classic car, just trying to keep everything his father taught him alive. Cody and Charlie were living parallel lives, until they finally collided. And the moment he smiled at her, Charlie knew he was the one who would change everything. But was she willing to take the risk?

Cody saw through it all. He saw her—all of her. But would letting him in be too much to take? And if Charlie let herself love him—really love him—could he love her back?

My Opinion  4 STARS
**ARC Provided by Netgalley and Ginger Scott for an honest review**

It took me a little while to get to grips with this authors writing style, but once I did I was glad I picked up this book.

From there I struggled to put the book down at all. There was one particular section where I was curled up in bed at 1:30 in the morning bawling my eyes out, hoping not to wake my husband. All the emotions feel real and at times very raw.

Charlie has lead a hard life, but she never uses it as an excuse even if we can see how it has held her back. Yes she can act a bit immature, but thats understandable. All of the characters grow and I love Gabe and Jessie. Truly the best friends you can have. I do feel sorry for Trevor though. That poor man really deserves a HEA.

A deffinate book to read if you get the chance.

The Cowboy Lassos A Bride (The Cowboys of Chance Creek #6) by Cora Seton

The Book
Release Date: 23 February 2014

Jake Matheson loves everything about ranching the Double-Bar-K, except for his father’s controlling nature. It’s bad enough the old man won’t step down and let him run things his own way. Now Holt has demanded that Jake find a wife—in the next thirty days. Jake knows just the woman he wants–Hannah Ashton–but they haven’t even gone on a date, let alone been together long enough for him to propose. He’ll have to work fast to secure her hand in marriage before his time is up.

Hannah Ashton loves the fifteen hundred pound bison she rescued from being the object of a trophy hunt. She’s grateful for Gladys’s temporary home on the Double Bar K—and for the chance it gives her to see Jake on a daily basis. But now Holt Matheson is threatening to kick Gladys off the ranch—or eat her!—unless Hannah spends fourteen consecutive nights with Jake. What they get up to together is their business, but if Hannah misses a night, it’s bye-bye bison.

Jake can’t believe Hannah has agreed to move into his cabin, but now his brother Ned is stirring up trouble, trying to break them up before he can propose. Hannah’s beginning to think it’ll be hard to leave the ranch when her fourteen nights are over—even if she’s heading to veterinary school. She’s falling for Jake–hard–but Jake wants a traditional wife, not a career woman.

Will a pregnancy scare unite Jake and Hannah in a common goal? Or will it drive them apart for good?

**ARC Provided by Netgalley and One Acre Press for an honest review**

This book seemed shorter than the previous books.

We have another Matheson finding love with the meddling of Holt. Holt invariably ends up creating yet another mess and having to readjust his way of thinking and back-peddle so that he doesn't end up losing his son.

All the previous members of the group have small roles and we hear more as to the group dynamics, which keeps me coming back for more.

This book also seems to set up both Ned and Luke with potential partners of their own, so I look forward to reading their stories.

This is a very short, fun story about a girl suffering after getting a chain mail email three years ago and not forwarding it on.

Calamity after calamity happens until Mr Right shows up and helps her break her bad luck curse.

I did laugh out loud (ok, I snorted) a few times at the mishaps that happened to Tilly. Its was light-hearted, it was fun and it filled my lunch hour completely.

Loved it.

Killer Frost (Mythos Academy #6) by Jennifer Estep

The Book
Release Date: 25 February 2014

I’ve battled the Reapers of Chaos before–and survived. But this time I have a Bad, Bad Feeling it’s going to be a fight to the death … most likely mine.

Yeah, I’ve got my psychometry magic, my talking sword, Vic–and even the most dangerous Spartan on campus at my side, in Logan freaking Quinn, but I’m no match for Loki, the evil Norse god of chaos. I may be Nike’s Champion, but at heart, I’m still just Gwen Frost, that weird Gypsy girl everyone at school loves to gossip about.

Then someone I love is put in more danger than ever before, and something inside me snaps. This time, Loki and his Reapers are going down for good … or I am.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**ARC Provided by Netgalley and Kensington Books for an honest review**

This is the last book in the series, but it was left in such a way that it will be possible to do a spin off series should Ms Estep want to.

The fight scene as epic and Jennifer really holds no punches in giving us exactly want we want to see.  There is a lot of action and it has a very face space.

Gwen finds out how to do more with her powers although she still tries to do everything by herself and keeps to many secrets.  Logan seems to have grown up a little however and seems to trust that Gwen knows what she is doing and that she can take care of herself in her own bull-headed way.

Again Gwen's friends show her their utter loyalty and how well they know her and the way she thinks when they surprise her with their help, which of course ends up helping.

This is definitely a series that you need to read.

Midnight Frost (Mythos Academy #5) by Jennifer Estep

The Book
Release Date: 30 July 2013

Here we go again …

Just when it seems life at Mythos Academy can’t get any more dangerous, the Reapers of Chaos manage to prove me wrong. It was just a typical night at the Library of Antiquities — until a Reaper tried to poison me. The good news is I’m still alive and kicking. The bad news is the Reaper poisoned someone else instead.

As Nike’s Champion, everyone expects me to lead the charge against the Reapers, even though I’m still hurting over what happened with Spartan warrior Logan Quinn. I’ve got to get my hands on the antidote fast — otherwise, an innocent person will die. But the only known cure is hidden in some creepy ruins — and the Reapers are sure to be waiting for me there …

My Opinion  4 STARS
Another all action adventure in the life of Gwen Frost and her friends at the Mythos Academy.

Gwen is still sore that Logan has left her, she is sad and upset and kind of jealous that Logan even has the opportunity to run from the troubles that she faces.

With Logan out of the picture her friends rally around her, protecting her and supporting her.  Reapers are coming out of the woodwork intent in killing at all angles and an accident happens in the library involving poison.

The only cure is a rare flower which can be found in some ruins in colorado.  Knowing that it could be trap, Gwen and her friends make their way over where she finds unexpected help and new friends.

There are quite a few re-caps but they help build the bigger picture of what Gwen is battling and the challenges that she faces.  Gwen never loses sight of her focus and shows tremendous courage and resiliance for a girl who know nothing of the mythological world such a short time ago.

Well worth a read.

Spartan Frost (Mythos Academy, #4.5) by Jennifer Estep

The Book
Release Date: 25 June 2013

I'm Logan Quinn, the deadliest Spartan warrior at Mythos Academy. At least I was--until the day I almost killed Gwen Frost.

Professor Metis and Nickamedes say that I'm fine, that Loki and the Reapers don't have a hold on me anymore, but I can't risk it. I can't risk hurting Gwen again. So I'm leaving Mythos and going somewhere far, far away.

I know Gwen wonders what's happening to me, whether I'm safe. I can't tell her, but this is my story. . .

My Opinion  3 STARS
First of all it was a bit disappointing that Logan was not on the cover as this was his story.

We don't get a lot of Logan's point of view in regards to his feelings towards Gwen, we get a very short story with his dad and a reaper bust.

Not quite what I was expecting, but it's not a bad spin story to keep us interested.  A small gap filler into what Logan is doing with his dad.

EXCERPT

Roxy’s POV

“Shut up and kiss me.” I pull Cole in by the back of the neck, slamming my lips to his, and I go for it. I swallow him whole, swirl my tongue around his mouth as if I were taking up residence, then something in me loosens, and I surrender as he digs his fingers into my waist, his tongue roaming freely in my mouth, slow and deliberate. A soft moan gets locked in my throat as I wrap my arms around his neck and press my body up against the wall of granite that is his chest. It’s as if I had found a wormhole in this desperate universe I’m wallowing in, and now I’m transported to some fantastical place I’ve only heard about, and, ironically enough, the portal was right here through Cole’s mouth.

Home to Whiskey Creek (Whiskey Creek #4) by Brenda Novak

The Book
Release Date: 30 July 2013

Sometimes home is the refuge you need-and sometimes it isn't.  Adelaide Davies, who's been living in Sacramento, returns to Whiskey Creek, the place she once called home. She's there to take care of her aging grandmother and to help with Gran's restaurant, Just Like Mom's. But Adelaide isn't happy to be back. There are too many people here she'd rather avoid, people who were involved in that terrible June night fifteen years ago.

Ever since the graduation party that changed her life, she's wanted to go to the police and make sure the boys responsible-men now-are punished. But she can't, not without revealing an even darker secret. So it's better to pretend....

Noah Rackham, popular, attractive, successful, is shocked when Adelaide won't have anything to do with him. He has no idea that his very presence reminds her of something she'd rather forget. He only knows that he's finally met a woman he could love.

My Opinion  5 STARS
Wow. This book covers some really hard and gritty issues.

First things first, poor bloody Baxter! I really really hope he gets his happy ever after. He really does have good friends and I loved that Noah was still there for him as his friend.

I really felt for Addy. The poor woman has suffered so much, and to be targeted again when she went back just made it so much harder. She is a strong woman, especially with how well she handled things. Especially with how badly she was treated, her forgiving nature really won me over even more.

Noah too showed a strong loyal side. He not only had to deal with his best friend but with his feelings for Addy and the eventual revelations from Addy, Baxters parents and his own. Loved the fact that he VERY quickly believed Addy instead of everyone else and stood up to them on her behalf and fought for the justice he believed was right.

I was however slightly disappointed in the ending. Yes justice was served, but I felt that something was missing, not that I can pin-point it. Otherwise it was another great addition to the series.

When Summer Comes (Whiskey Creek #3) by Brenda Novak

The Book
Release Date: 1 March 2013

One day, Callie Vanetta receives devastating news.

She needs a liver transplant. But her doctors warn that, in her case, the chances of finding a compatible donor aren't good.

Determined to spend whatever time she has left on her own terms, she keeps the diagnosis to herself and moves out to her late grandparents' farm. She's always wanted to live there. But the farm hasn't been worked in years and she begins to fear it's too much, she'll have to return to town.

One night, a stranger comes knocking at her door...

He's an attractive and mysterious drifter by the name of Levi McCloud who offers to trade work for a few nights' shelter. Callie figures she doesn't have anything to lose. He needs a place to stay until he can fix his motorcycle; she needs an extra pair of hands. The arrangement seems ideal until what was supposed to be temporary starts to look more and more permanent. Then she realises she does have something to lose — her heart. And, although he doesn't yet know it, Levi stands to lose even more.

My Opinion  5 STARS
Brenda Novak really knows how to put just the right emotion in a book. I loved it.

Callie is a very warm hearted individual, cautious when a stranger lands on her door hurt, she brings him in and looks after him even as he refuses an ambulance or police assistance. Gravely ill herself, she puts the needs of this stranger above her own.

Callie is hiding her condition as she does not want people to feel sorry for her as she needs a liver transplant by the end of summer. Having Levi around helps her out as there are things she cannot do and he ends up being added security for her.

Levi has been a vagrant for two years after coming home from war and an argument with his father. He is also on the run. Levi is a fighter and doesn't want to owe anyone, he is also honest and sweet. He looks after Callie one night when she is ill, but she still hides her condition with him and her family until she has no choice.

I really felt the emotions of both Callie and Levi, and was refreshing to have the man as the younger of the two. Although her friends are wonderful I'm glad that Baxter was there for her and gave her warnings.

An excellent author.

The Book  The Makeover
Revenge is a dish best served cold… while wearing heels.

April has just learned the real reason behind her boss' impromptu dinner invitation.  He only invited her to dinner with his colleagues to prove a point: that he can show up at an event with a plain Jane and still be considered 'the man'.  She expected better from him and secretly hoped that one day their friendship would grow into something deeper.  But her two best friends won't let her wallow in her pain.  They convince her to give Dr. Stewart a dose of his own medicine.  The plan: show up at dinner looking irresistible and prove to her boss that even nerd girls can be sexy.  But first she has to replace her unattractive business suits with something sexier and more revealing.  It's time for a makeover.

Dr. Chad Stewart would never 'really' date his secretary.  She was too good, too pure for someone as jaded as himself.  It didn't matter that he was half in love with her.  But when he needed an 'average date' for a dinner party she was the first person he turned to.  He thought his secretary was the perfect choice until he arrived to find her looking like his wildest fantasy.  But now she knows the real reason for his invite and he can see in her eyes how hurt she is.

Can Chad convince her to forgive him for hurting her or will she walk out of his life… taking his heart with her?

The Book  Yours For Now
The question: "Would you like to try BDSM with me?"

Elizabeth Kemp never thought she'd ask friend and colleague, Preston Lancaster to be her submissive. Even more surprising, he agrees – on one condition: she has to return the favor. Her two weeks as his Domme ends with a dramatic climax she wasn't prepared for – she's hopelessly in love and terrified he'll break her heart.

Dr. Preston Lancaster has been in love with Elizabeth since the day they met. His two weeks with her are more than he ever imagined, but when the tables are turned, she refuses to make good on her promise to reciprocate. Preston isn't giving up without a fight, but he's not fighting for two weeks of dominance anymore. He's fighting for forever.

Can Preston convince Elizabeth that her heart is safe with him – or will two weeks be all he has?

EXCERPT - Yours For Now
She smiled at the sound of a car pulling into her driveway and the door being slammed shut. A few seconds later, her doorbell rang, but she didn’t rush to answer it. She didn’t want him to notice how anxious she was. Elizabeth checked the time on her cell phone. It was only six forty. Ignoring the excitement that flowed through her, she stood and smoothed out the imaginary wrinkles in her dress.
She grabbed her perfume and sprayed a little on the flesh beneath her dress line and massaged the scented liquid into her thighs before it had a chance to make its way down her legs. Breathing in deeply, she closed her eyes and reminded herself that this was her idea. She needed to do this if she wanted to get over this insane attraction she felt for her best friend. She stepped into her heels.
After one last glance in the mirror, she walked out of her bedroom and closed the door behind her.
Nervousness caused her to shake slightly. That was Preston waiting on her out there. He was her best friend, and after tonight, he would probably be her lover. The muscles in her stomach contracted at the mere thought of him being intimate with her. She jumped when Preston rang the doorbell two more times. Coming. She walked through her living room to the front door, straightening her spine as she went.
She placed one hand on the door knob and the other hand on her hip, pausing to take one last deep breath. Here I go. Elizabeth opened the door quickly and nearly stumbled out of her heels as her eyes devoured Preston. Why did he have to be so sexy, and why did he have to wear those damn mouth watering suits everywhere he went?
Her eyes drifted from the top of his head down to the shoes on his feet. His brown hair was no longer pulled away from his face; tonight he was allowing it to hang forward where it barely grazed the top of his black dress coat that clung to his body. He wore a black button down under his coat with black slacks and shoes. Black on black looked sexy on him, causing him to look mysterious. Her fingers itched to unbutton his shirt and start rubbing her hands over the muscled chest she knew his ensemble covered. Elizabeth sighed, forgetting for a second that she wasn’t staring at a GQ magazine.
“Have I passed your inspection?”
Her eyes darted back up to his face. The corner of his lips lifted in a slight smile.
“You are too cocky,” she said as she accepted the roses he handed to her. “These are beautiful. Come on in while I put these in some water.”

The Author:
Hi, my name is Siren Allen. I’m a writer and lover of all things erotic and romantic. I reside in southern Mississippi where I write steamy romances that are guaranteed to make you blush. When I’m not listening to the characters in my head and jotting down their adventures, I am busy working as a Clinical Laboratory Technician.

I love to travel, preferably with my husband, so he can do all of the driving. I enjoy time with my family, who are just as silly as I am. I have no children…yet, wish me luck! My hobbies are reading, writing and shopping, though I hate trying on clothing. If I wasn’t a writer or a Laboratory Professional, I would probably be a Secret Agent. But that’s the beauty of being a writer; you can create your own world and be whoever you want to be. In my imaginary world, I am Queen and my siblings are my minions.

When Snow Falls (Whiskey Creek #2) by Brenda Novak

The Book
Release Date: 23 October 2012

After growing up in cheap motels, moving from town to town with her sister and mother, Cheyenne Christensen is grateful to be on her own. She's grateful, too, for the friends she found once her family settled in California. But she's troubled by the mystery of her earliest memories, most of which feature a smiling blonde woman. A woman who isn't her mother.

Although Cheyenne has repeatedly asked for explanations, the people who could help aren't talking. Cheyenne is set on finding answers, but without so much as a birth certificate, it won't be easy.

Things get even more complicated when her closest friend is attracted to the man Cheyenne has secretly loved for years. For Eve's sake, she decides to step aside — which lands her right in the arms of Dylan Amos, oldest and baddest of the hell-raising Amos brothers. He's the kind of guy she's sworn to avoid. She can't afford to make a mistake, not when she finally has a chance to learn who she really is and change her life for the better. But . . . maybe there's more to Dylan than she thought. Maybe letting him go would be a bigger mistake.

My Opinion  5 STARS
I absolutely loved this book. So much so that having started this book slightly after midnight I couldn't put the book down to go to sleep. I kept telling myself 'just one more page', but in the end I finished the book in one sitting.

Brenda has a knack of narrating the emotions to an extent that you really feel them. I felt for Chayenne and her hard life. I loved Dylan and his honestly and the way he stepped up to keep and protect his family.

They make a wonderful couple, both are strong people and have overcome a lot in their lives.

I can't wait to see who the others end up with.
