REVIEW - Sheikh's Surprise Son (The Sheikh's Wedding Series Book 1) by Leslie North

 The Book

Release Date: 30 December 2021

Goodreads Link

The desert stars align for passion and romance…

Years ago, Sheikh Hadi Toma allowed himself one night of freedom, one night to be a normal young man. Little did Hadi know, his one night of passion resulted in a son—a son who has been adopted by his daughter’s quirky, pink-haired teacher, Willow.

It isn’t long before Hadi realizes Willow might solve a major problem. He’s duty-bound to fulfill an ancient prophecy, and must marry during an upcoming astronomical event. Who better to marry than his son’s adoptive mother? Now he just needs to convince Willow. But is he marrying her for love? Or just to satisfy his superstitious family’s wishes…

Willow may not be her son’s biological mother, but she’s fiercely protective of her little boy. Can Hadi, a gruff, taciturn man, learn to be a patient, caring father? Sure, he’s the sexiest man she’s ever met, but that’s not the point. Still, it’s hard to keep her priorities straight when she gazes into the Sheikh’s smoldering eyes…

My Review  4 STARS

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

It has been a while since I have read anything by this author and I have not been disappointed that this author is still really good at weaving her story and creating some drama.

Willow has been raising her nephew after the death of her sister and only after her death did she find out what the father of her nephew looked like.  She has been trying to find him ever since.

Sheik Hadi is a single parent since the death of his wife, who he got on with as it was an arranged marriage.  He goes to visit his daughters teacher when he is hit by the bombshell that has daughters best friend is also his son.

Things move quickly and his family embrace the new member of their family and his aunt.  Although the Sheikh is worldly, Willow is the one that ends up teaching him far more about raising a family than he thought and how to love and make a child prosper when there is a lot at stake.

I really enjoyed this story and will read more from this author in the future.

REVIEW - There's Something About Molly (Mommy Wars #2) by Christina Hovland

 The Book

Release Date: 20 September 2021

Goodreads Link

Molly Princeton hasn’t met the right guy. Yes, she’s a dating coach. But she’s also a single mom with a rocky relationship history. She may be able to help others find love, but she doesn’t really need it in her life. Happiness doesn’t require falling in love. Winning a matchmaker competition however requires being part of a couple. And darn it, she needs to win this one. That’s when she sets her sights on Gavin Frank—the one man she would absolutely never fall in love with.

Gavin is her nemesis, her best friend’s ex, and yeah, okay, he’s sexy as sin. He’s also off limits. But she’s out of other options. Plus Gavin could use a fake relationship to keep his meddling mother from setting up blind dates with every available woman in the Mile High City. There’s no way he’d fall for Molly. None. Nada.

The two quickly learn there’s a thin line between hate and love, and she finds herself tipping onto the wrong side. For the first time, she doesn’t have all the answers. What the heck is she supposed to do next? Lucky for her, Gavin realizes there’s something about Molly he can’t resist…

My Review   5 STARS

**My thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing LLC for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Molly is a single mother to an 8 year old boy and his best friends are the twins of her best friend Rachel and her ex-husband Gavin who has made some questionable decisions in the past, therefore on principle Molly has never liked him.  However when Rachel gets married to Gavins brother, things take a change when he dives into a lake to rescue her son when he is trying to be a stuntman.

While Gavin is currently on a voyage of self discovery after his fiancee left him, Molly is a MyTube influencer who gives dating tips online and gets paid with ads and online views.

Molly soon discovers that there is more to Gavin than meets the eye after she spends time with him and actually gives him a chance as a decent person.  Gavin admits his faults and that he is trying to be a better person and may still mess up.

Mollys friends are a great support and she has the support and love of her landlady Agnes who has been like a mother to her and a grandmother to her son.

I really enjoyed the journey of this pair and the supporting roles of the friends and family that they have and I am really looking forward to Aprils story.

REVIEW - LORD KING (The King Series, #7) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

The Book

Release Date: 19 November 2021

Goodreads Link

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a Paranormal Suspense, Lord King.

A curse he cannot break without her…

KING

Before I became evil, I was king of a great people. Now I am cursed to walk the earth until I pay for my misdeeds. After three thousand years, I have much to answer for.

Then along comes Jeni, further complicating matters. She claims to love me, though I could never reciprocate. Her loathsome people placed me in this predicament, and frankly, I gave my heart to another woman long ago.

But I am about to discover that meeting Jeni is no coincidence.

Our true connection will shock even me.

A power she didn’t know she had…

JENI

I am what they call a Seer, an ancient people with unusual gifts, and I’m the last of my kind. Surprise! Because up until recently, I thought I was a regular person.

But meeting King changed everything. He opened my eyes to the world around me, filled with more darkness than I could’ve imagined. And King? He’s the darkest of them all.

That’s why I can’t wrap my head around my feelings. With every moment we spend together, I’m falling for a man who can never love me back. His heart belongs to his dead wife.

That’s when I meet Ansin. The only man on earth who could rival King for darkness and ruthless ambition. Like me, Ansin is the last of his bloodline, which is why he demands I marry him and give him children.

Do I get to choose, or has fate already chosen for me?

My Review

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

In this book we start with Jenni going back to Kings office to help him with his tasks, but she is hiding a secret.  She is pregnant with his baby.  She wants to help him end the Ten Club so that he can die and be with his family, but she is also conflicted as she likes King.

Enter Ansin, when he rescues Jenni when she is attacked after King goes in to kill another member who had killed her mother.  He lets her know that he wants her and will kill King.

Eventually Jenni has to decide for her self who she trusts, King, Ansin or the Seers or none of them.  She does not know whether she trust what the Seers are telling her, Ansin will help her when she needs it, but for a price, and King does what he needs, but will protect her and the baby.

There are a few twists and turns in this book, however I did not see the ending of this book happening, it certainly gave me a surprise.

I am now really looking forward to the next book to see what the author will bring out of the bag and what twist and turns will happen for King to get a happy ending.

REVIEW - The Dead King (The King #6) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

 The Book

Release Date: 21 January 2021

Goodreads Link

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a Paranormal Suspense, The Dead King.

When a large metal box washes ashore after a hurricane, Jeni Arnold’s construction crew has no idea what to make of the dead guy inside.

Who put the poor man in there? Was it murder or something else? All questions for the police to solve. Unfortunately, their hands are full, dealing with the hurricane’s fallout.

Then Jeni is attacked leaving work. She knows the perpetrator, but not the mysterious man who stops him dead. All she knows is that his otherworldly beauty and piercing blue eyes haunt her.

But Jeni is about to learn that her rescue comes with a price.

Everything with King comes with a price

My Review  5 STARS

In this book we have the return of King, a man we all though could not come back, but we were wrong of course.  At the beginning he does not know who is is as he wakes up in the safe after being washed up after Hurricane Mia.

Jenni works as part of a clean up crew and after the box is found she is attacked by a colleague, but rescued by a man who does not remember who he is.  She knows that he is dangerous though.

King has been in the box at the bottom of the ocean for the last 25 years, but now out he needs to find out who he is and Jenni is the one he sees that can help him, with a little bribery. When a woman goes to Jenni and gives her a bracelet to help him with her memories, Jenni is a little suspicious, especially as the woman says she will be back in a few days to kill him.

King certainly uses her and her resources, and although I am not sure on this new romance, he does sleep with her. Jenni knows she feels a connection with him, but does not know why.

King goes to places that he has memories of and Jenni follows even if some of the places creep her out, but it is only when he sees the date on a newspaper does he actually put on the cuff to get his memories back and she gets a message from the Seers that King needs to clear up Ten Club so that he can die.

I have enjoyed this book and the turn that the book has taken and I really look forward to see what is going to happen next.

REVIEW - Knocked Up by the Rockstar (Mile High Rocked, #2) by Christina Hovland

 The Book

Release Date: 10 December 2021

Goodreads Link

The only thing music publicist Courtney Lincoln dislikes more than knock-off sugary breakfast cereal is Dimefront’s lead singer—Brennan “Bax” Baxter. So when she discovers she’s pregnant following one teeny, tiny, mind-blowing morning with her nemesis, her world tumbles upside down.

Dimefront is on the rocks. Again. Bax is ready to move on. But following the implosion of his engagement, he makes a slip-up that ties him to Courtney as unlikely co-parents. He doesn’t like Courtney. Doesn’t care for how she’s able to see straight through the façade he’s painstakingly curated. But he’s always wanted a family and he’s being offered that chance.

Now the band is mending fences, there’s a baby on the way, and feelings start getting tangled. Maybe Bax isn’t really such a jerk? Perhaps Courtney could be the woman of his dreams? Or, maybe, just maybe, they were right all along…

My Review  5 STARS

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Courtney is Linx's little sister and the publicist with the band.  However even though Courtney and Max used to get on as children, something happened to them whilst on tour and they have been like enemies ever since.

This book overlaps the first book a little, but when Bax finds himself in trouble after his girlfriend cheats on him, he needs a place to lie low and their manager gives Bad to Courtney to look after.  The first night at her place and things take a major turn, leading Bax to skedaddle.

Unfortunately this one time leads to consequences.  Courtney finds out she is pregnant and has to let her family know, this is turn results in Bax knowing and Line and Bax having a confrontation.

Bax does his best to turn things around and man up, doing his best to be calm and non-confrontational with Courtney which she finds strange, but he does his best not to fuck things up and to be there for Courtney and the baby, there is a little miscommunication, but as ever we get a lovely ending and the beginning of a new couple on the scene.

I really enjoyed this story and I am really looking forward to the next story in the series with this band.

My Review  3 STARS

**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an honest review**

This is the first book that I have read by this author and although  the story was good, nothing really stood out about it to make it special in my case.  However I may have read some exceptional books lately.

Dr Aiden Denali is a trying to help wolf shifters like himself battle a change in their DNA which means they are aging faster than they were and he is trying to fins out why and getting as many packs as he can to help them.

Dr Holly Gray wants to help but so far has been denied by her pack leader, when a chance meeting in a mall with Aiden gives her his number she decides to help anyway, especially as she finds out that he is only near them at present to find and help a banished member of her pack.

The story moves quickly, there is drama, some sexy scenes, that just fell a little short for me, and a decent ending.  I feel something more could have happened with the pack leader Ronald and his brother Jared, but I can see how it would resolve better how it did.  I just feel his bad behaviour was suddenly gone far too quickly.

The book was decent and had a fairly solid story, the character were mostly ok, but for me it just lacked a certain spark, which does not mean that this could be a good book for you.

REVIEW - Virgin Tribute by Delta James

The Book

Release Date: 30 May 2019

Goodreads Link

I was not asked. I was chosen. Every year, the creature who keeps our community safe requires a virgin as tribute, and every year she is thoroughly ravaged and then returned ruined for any other man. No one will tell me exactly what is in store for me, I only know he's not going to be gentle.

But the elders underestimated me, and when they left me in the sacred clearing I took the chance to escape. Now the beast hunts me, and if he finds me I can only wonder what he'll do to me...

Publisher's Note: Virgin Tribute includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

My Review  2 STARS

This is the first time that I have read anything by this author and even though I was not the greatest fan of this book, I would like to try another of her books.

The world building in general was good, but the story itself was a bit of a let down.  We have a feisty female who wants to get out of where she is and questions everything around her, but when she is finally forced to be the virgin tribute, although she makes an escape to run, she very quickly becomes obsessed with the dragon and having sex with him.

It was not quite insta love as she tries to escape once after meeting the dragon, however she gives up far too quickly for my liking.

REVIEW - Owned By The Mountain Man (Montana Mountain Men #2) by Gemma Weir

 The Book

Release Date: 22 April 2021

Goodreads Link

Huge, muscled and sexy in plaid, Huck Barnett is one of the most beautiful men I’ve ever seen. Every woman in Rockhead Peak wants a taste of the mountain man. Including me.

Except, after a drunken girls’ night out, instead of waking up with him in my bed, I wake up with a killer hangover and an inbox full of his texts telling me how reckless and dangerous my antics are.

Now my dad and brother want to find me a husband, and my ex-boyfriend has decided he wants the job.

But I’m not looking for marriage, I’d rather have a few incredible nights with the annoying mountain hottie. Only it turns out he’s not looking for a hook-up, he wants to own me.

My Review  5 STAR

This is the second book in the series and can certainly be read as a stand alone, it is also the second book I have read by this author and I shall certainly be reading more of her books.

Huck is a brother of Finn from book one and Cora is best friends with Finn's fianceé, however after waking up after a night that is hazy, her whole world changes when Huck takes it upon himself to look after her when even her family are not.

Huck finds himself however like his brother and he comes to the conclusion very quickly that Cora is the woman for him and all but refuses to wear a condom, then tampers with her tablets in order to get her pregnant and bound to him in every way.

I loved the alpha male in Huck and his brothers and cannot wait to read Grangers story to see how things pan out for yet another brother.

My comfort zone owns me.
It consumes me.
It's marked me.

Ridiculous demands that only I understand. I can’t step outside. And when I do, there are rules for every step, every breath, every second. I’ve never kissed a boy. I’ve never had the chance. I live in the dark corners of my mind with only the men from the books I read to keep me company.

Until Finn.

A friend of a friend. He's a tattoo artist, and he's a gorgeous human being. We make an agreement. He’s the teacher. I’m the student. It’s pretend for him. But for me—one touch and I'm his.

My Review  5 STARS

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Having read Amanda and Nicks story in Inked I was looking forward to reading Finn and Lou's story and I was not disappointed.

Finn showed real patience in dealing with Lou with all her insecurities, but was also not afraid to push her a little or to give her a bit of a challenge.

We see a little more of Amanda and Nick in a different way too and we get to meet Patrick a little more.  I cannot wait until his story.

I enjoyed this trip to kill devil hills and hope that we get some more stories in this place.

REVIEW - A Lair So Primal (The Last Dragorai #3) by Zoey Ellis

The Book

Release Date: 20 September 2021

Goodreads Link

From a dark, magic-ravaged world comes an enthralling new fantasy romance series. Five brothers, last of an ancient Alpha bloodline, each bound by fire and blood to their majestic dragons.

She trespassed on his land. Now she is his to keep.

While traveling to a dragon lord’s lair, Elora crosses forbidden land belonging to the lord’s brother, a viciously territorial alpha named Zendyor.

Known for his legendary temper, Zendyor and his bonded dragon are feared across the realm… and now, because of one mistake, she must be turned over to him.

Though she has suffered tragedies through a long-waged war that would make most crumble, Elora is the ultimate optimist and looks to the future with hope.

But nothing prepares her for the seductiveness of his fury.

Terrified, she tries to avoid him and shine a light against the darkness that permeates his lair, but the alpha will not allow it.

His dark attentions turn into a carnal obsession.

Soon she is caught in his storm, unable to tell the difference between his never-ending fury and his primal hunger for her.

When a sudden opportunity arises to escape him, Elora discovers secrets about herself that crush her eternal optimism.

But Zenyor will not allow her to evade his claim. As his rage reaches heights that threaten the realm, he wants everything she is.

He may be the final battle she cannot survive.

A LAIR SO PRIMAL is the third book in The Last Dragorai, an adult fantasy romance series. This series can be read as standalones but will be better enjoyed if read in order. Includes romance of a dark nature and a HEA.

My Review  5 STARS

**My thanks to the author and Hidden Gems for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the third instalment of the series and we finally get Elora and Zendyor's story.

Elora on her way to the meeting point to get to Nyro's lair, went across Zendyors range, but was not noticed before she crossed through, this has annoyed Zendyor, but he does not know who the person was, just that they crossed through and went to Nyro's side.

Elora is a bubbly person and always wants to help and make people happy, but when she gets to Zendyors lair, everything is so different to what she is used to and the staff ignoring her is really hard for her.

Both have their predujuces that stop them seeing what is happening between them, but of course it is the alpha male who realises first and has to let the omega know.

We get more action, fighting, strength of character and of course sex and we get to see a little more of Oshali and I'mya along with more of the other dragorai alpha's.

I can already see that Sethorn and Uraya will be mate, but I am certainly waiting to see who will be mates with Khyros and how he gets his dragon back.

Really looking forward to the next book coming out.

REVIEW - A Lair So Loyal (The Last Dragorai, #2) by Zoey Ellis

 The Book

Release Date: 14 June 2021

Goodreads Link

From a dark, magic-ravaged world comes an enthralling new fantasy romance series. Five brothers, last of an ancient Alpha bloodline, each bound by fire and blood to their majestic dragons.

She was saved by a dragon lord. And now he thinks he owns her.

Rescued as a baby by Tyomar, a powerful alpha bonded to a fierce dragon, Oshali was raised in a secluded sanctum. Historic tales of adventure and epic love captivate her, and she’s convinced there is a breathtaking world beyond the sanctum’s walls.

Twenty-five years later, she is now the liaison between the sanctum and Tyomar’s notorious clan… and his visits are equally rousing and nerve-racking.

The rules of the sanctum forbid him from seeing her face, but she is in awe of his intense good-looks and charm, even though she knows he still sees her as a child.

When Oshali accepts an assignment to travel across dangerous war-torn lands without her veil, Tyomar is furious. His overbearing protection reveals a fierce, dark possession.

Insatiable fire ignites between them.

And the passionate tension erupts into something deliciously carnal.

Yet Oshali knows Tyomar is a threat to her heart and her freedom. He refuses to leave her side, and she refuses to tolerate his controlling interference.

When a shocking revelation about her heritage exposes a deception, Oshali must choose where her loyalties lie, knowing Tyomar won’t easily relinquish what he has decided is his.

A LAIR SO LOYAL is the second book in The Last Dragorai, a steamy fantasy romance series. This series can be read as standalones but will be better enjoyed if read in order. Includes a HEA.

My Review   5 STARS

Oshali starts the book close to her twenty fifth birthday and needing to make a big decision.  Will she stay with the sanctum that has raised her from a baby or will she leave and enter the world, not able to come back home.

At the sanctum, she is the dragorai liaison, and each visit is as arousing as it is frustrating.  When the sanctum give her the option to go on a mission before she chooses she accepts, but is both floored and annoyed when the dragorai alpha Tyomar decides that he is going with her.

Tyomar has always enjoyed his visits with the child that he took to the sanctum on his range, but the last few years he has been more and more attracted to Oshali, even though he cannot see her face, only her eyes.

Tyomar becomes more possessive of Oshali when they trek, leaving the dragon back in his range, especially as now he can finally see her face.

Oshali during er quest however finds out who she truly is which rocks her, she also falls fully for Tyomar, but is confused when she finds out that she is his mate.

Again we see the other dragon lords come together to plan and are there to support their brethren and are equally excited to learn that a second brother has found his mate.

We also get more sex, more misunderstandings, support, a little action and an omega in heat in which her alpha lord cannot help but satisfy.

Cannot wait to tuck into book three.

A LAIR SO SINFUL is the first book in an adult fantasy romance standalone series. This story includes romance of a dark nature and a HEA.

My Review  5 STARS

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was completely captivated by the world created and the characters in the story.

I'mya wakes up not knowing where she is or who she is.  The only thing she knows is that magic is bad.  She is in the lair of a dragon called Nyro and she is there to join his harem and she is called a kon'ayas.  A person who is there only to sate the dragons sexual desires.

I'mya, however is unlike the others however and stands up for herself and this excites Nyro when he first meets her, she is something new while she gets him doing things he has never done for others before.

In I'm Nyro finds something that his clan thought could never happen.  Even though the dragon females have been hunted to death, the clan thought they were the last and would die out.  Now, Nyro has found his mate, the person that completes him, along with the chance to have children.

We get lots of sex, betrayal, love and devotion and action.  Both characters grow and you can see the connection between them develop with the story.

We get to see glimpses of the rest of the clan members when they meet and help each other when trouble arises along with what each brings to the table of their family.

I cannot wait to read the next book.

A tormented dragon shifter encounters his greatest temptation in this sizzling new Dragon Lords novel from USA Today bestselling author Kiersten Fay.

While gearing up for the challenge, he is surprised to find two extra crew members aboard his ship, one of them a mysterious female named Onnika who tempts him beyond reason.

Onnika’s special brand of magic has always been the key to her survival…and the reason she and her sister Caryn are constantly on the run. While escaping a ruthless band of outlaws bent on exploiting her powers, she entangles herself with a dangerously handsome dragon shifter named Aidan and an infamous race that could ultimately lead her home. With everything on the line, she must use every devious trick in her book to gain Aidan’s trust while concealing her true identity.

My Review   5 STARS

**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Victory Editing Netgalley Co-op for an honest review**

This is the third book in the series, but can certainly be read as a stand alone story.

Onnika and her sister Caryn have stuck together ever since their uncle Ethanule managed to get them off their home planet when it was invaded many years ago.  Onnika has always been the one to be in charge and trusts her sisters powers more than Caryn does.  It doesn't mean however that their past has been easy and it always seems to have been more trouble that they get into.

Aiden was in the other books as the Navigator and he flies the ships he has been on, but now we get to see him as he goes on the Phase Nine flight for the second time as part of an agreement for help for his friends.

When Onnika first meets Aiden he is captivated until he realises that she has stolen his wallet, when she ends up on his ship he is angry, but as Prince Lear has added them to the crew manifest, their is nothing he can do with them.

Lots happens on the phase Nine trip, luck, attraction, battles, a baby who is after Onnika and her sister, poison, and of course a growing attraction that leads to more for Aiden and Onnika along with then going back to her homeward where she finally gets to meet up with her uncle.

I am really enjoying this series and I am looking forward to reading Prince Lear and Caryn's story next.

REVIEW - Finding Time (Chronicles of Madness #4) by Crea Reitan

The Book

Release Date: 3 July 2021

Mal is no longer a Fixer but the Queen of two of Laddenworn’s kingdoms: Redd and Hart. Although the Bloody Reign has ended, Wonderland has not been set free.

For there is a new threat. The Dark Ones are turning Silence into a horror show. Every victim, animal, person, or unnamed, are left a rotted shell, covered in the black clutches of a painful death. But who holds the reins of the Dark Ones?

**This is a new four book series following the Chronicles of Blood. A new adult, reverse harem, dark romance novel with a ‘why choose’ ending, meaning the main character gets a happily ever after with more than one man. It contains magic, demons, shifters, nonsense, explicit sex scenes, blood, murder. There are references to past emotional abuse. This is a MMFMM book with a STRONG focus on the woman (although there is some MM and MMF in here, too).

My Review  5 STARS

Ah.  The last book in the series and the majority of the book now is to restore Wonderland to its former glory, but better, but also to restore time.  Then we get many epilogues from 1, 5, 10, 20 and 35 years after everything has happened and what has happened to the family dynamics within that time and the children that Mal has had with her husbands.

Snow White's defeat is a rather quick and without much fanfare, but there is a mother fight scene and emotional struggle, with new husbands, children and gripping story tales along with the brilliant songs/poetry.

The epilogues are from all other points of view, Rehm, Lanes children, Mal and others, we get memorials, the All Dead Band has been rebuilt and so has Schoolroom and Lessons and a cure from Madness.

Finding time and freezing him was also a little anticlimactic and the relationships between the husbands seemed to take more of the book than Mal's relationships with them even as they continued to travel as a group.

The last epilogue with Lane and his children going to the Fae cave does leave an open story line, so I am hoping that something happens in the future within Wonderland as they continue the task Lane has given them.

I have really enjoyed the whole Wonderland story through the two series and am really quite upset that they have had to finish, I would have loved for the series to continue.

Lets hope that while we next get Ira's story, a friend that Mal had in dead end, that we will also get stories for her brother and the other friend eventually.

Mal is no longer a Fixer but the Queen of two of Laddenworn’s kingdoms Redd and Hart. Although the Bloody Reign has ended, Wonderland has not been set free.
Because, Wonderland does not exist right now. Mal and her men are trapped inside a toxic fairy tale, made dark and bloody by the infection of another. Their biggest problem now is figuring out what triggered Wonderland’s break and right it.
However, there are questions left unanswered and mysteries left to solve. What happened to the original Queens of Wonderland? Where is Wyat’s kindle? Where is the looking-glass? How to cure Madness? And although Redd and Hart are in fact dead - Mal beheaded them herself - where is the new threat coming from?
For there is a new threat. The Dark Ones are turning Silence into a horror show. Every victim, animal, person, or unnamed, are left a rotted shell covered in the black clutches of a painful death.

Goodness, this one certainly packs a punch and gives you all the feels.  At one point I was actually sobbing.

The journey for Mal and her husbands to fix the story continues as she tries to fix the story while helping her husbands get better at being happy too.

All the characters go through a lot, their is more kidnappings, LOTS of sex, action, fighting, areas where the group struggle with their feelings for other members of their remcule, but you just get so swept up in the story that it seems a struggle to put the book down for anything.

Lane takes a major focus on this book and we learn a lot more about the Faerie, Lane's talents and the attachment he has with his lovers and more recently Mal.

More things are being ticked off Mal list and things are pulling more together toward an ending and we really find out what the problem is with this fairy tale.

I am so invested in this series and I cannot believe that I only have one more book for Mal's story left to read.

Oh. My. TEA!!  Lots more action, more items ticked off Mal list of things to do and more tears as the book grips you wraps you up, consumes you and spits you out, your head reading from the story and leaving just wanting MORE.

To be honest they all do.

Finally we get the trials for the six new queens.  Trials to put the wanna-be's up to many tests to see if they are the kind of person that the nation needs for a queen.

As with all previous books the story is told from multiple points of view, each part adds to the tale and the emotions of the group, solidifying their emotions and the love and pain their feel at times.

I cannot wait to read book three to see how the story will progress, but I'm also getting sad knowing that I will be near the end of this series all too soon.

This book starts where the Chronicles of Blood left off and had to be read after the first books or you will not understand what has been happening and will be quite lost.  Never fear, they are so good you won't be upset.

Again we get lots of description and world building and awesome characters that are growing and evolving.  Mal also adds another person to her harem which is not initially something the others are happy about.

Mal is still the most important thing to her men and she is just as focused on making sure that they are happy while trying to fix the kingdom and leaving her crown behind.

I so love this series and cannot wait to read more, each book bring new secrets and such emotions.

REVIEW - Chronicles of Blood Series Box Set (Chronicles of Blood #1-4) by Crea Reitan

 The Book

Release Date: 12 February 2021

Mal is a Fixer, a child raised and trained to “fix” broken fairy tales by an organization the Fixers refer to as DeadEnd. Because, once you enter a fairy tale, there’s no getting out.
Mal has been assigned Wonderland. You know Wonderland, the place Alice visited as a child. Wonderland, with a Mad Hatter and a Cheshire Cat. Wonderland, who has consumed twenty-seven Fixers before Mal and has been dubbed “toxic” by the Operators of DeadEnd. But Wonderland needs to be fixed. It’s been toxic so long that every Wonderland story in the real world is being transformed into something entirely not child friendly.
After training for eleven years and studying every re-telling of Lewis Carroll’s classic, Mal leaves the world behind and enters her very own dead-end fairy tale. Well… everything is certainly twisted. The people are broken; the Bloody Queens’ reign has thrown the world into turmoil and upset the balance; and the places are, quite frankly, mad.
At least she found a few mostly-sane, entirely gorgeous men to help her along the way. Help her re-write this fairy tale back to its original wonder. And perhaps help her build a life in Wonderland for when she succeeds - because she is determined to do what the other twenty-seven have not been able to.
Everything seemed pretty straight forward, and going pretty smoothly, until she realized the fairy tale she’d been sent in to fix is actually infected by another…

It contains magic, demons, shifters, nonsense, explicit sex scenes, blood, murder. There are references to past emotional abuse. My Review 5 STARS

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Oh Holy Crow!! how on earth have I not read anything from this author before?  I have completely devoured the four books in this box set in the last few days, even ending with a kind of insomnia not being able to sleep because I just HAD to know what was going to happen next.

This tale is based in wonderland, but not the wonderland that we have read in books.  This tale is wrong, twisted and malformed so that a fixer needs to come in and sort it out.  So far twenty seven have failed, now its Mals turn, knowing that their is no way out of the story once she enters the door.

The world building is captivating, the characters delight, make you cry and make you angry at them.  You just cannot be helped but be swept up into the story as I leaps off the pages and and pulls you under.

Each book ends on a cliff hangar, so I immediately went straight for the next book.

We get some answers to the questions that have been posed, we get lots of action, brilliant writing, and characters that you just want to hug.  The four books leave a lot of questions open, however they open straight into the next series, The Chronicles of Madness. (Yes I have immediately downloaded all the books as I cannot wait for the boxset for the new series to be out in less than a month lol.

I will certainly be keeping an eye out for other works by this author as I get the feeling she is going to become one of my new favourites.
