REVIEW - The Chocolate Comeback (Love at the Chocolate Shop #7) by Roxanne Snopek

The Book
Release Date: 6 April 2017
Goodreads Link

Fame, fortune and fashion: that’s aspiring model Deirdre Cash’s ideal life. But when her splashy New York career dries up, she swallows her pride and returns to Marietta, Montana, desperate for any work she can find.

Isaac Litton doesn’t want the intrusion of a home care aide for his brother, Mark. But when the young man takes a shine to DeeDee, Isaac decides to give her a chance. He can’t help but be impressed when DeeDee changes his brother’s life around, by rewarding his healthy habits and exercising with treats from the Copper Mountain Chocolate Shop. Gorgeous and opinionated, DeeDee stirs everything up in the Litton household, including an attraction that Isaac can’t deny.

As DeeDee and Isaac start to fall for each other, an unexpected opportunity arises that could launch DeeDee back into the modeling scene. It’s her chance to achieve everything she’s ever wanted. But taking it would mean letting down her friends at the chocolate shop, her family who believes in her, a boy who adores her, and a man who thinks she’s already perfect, just the way she is.

My Opinion  4 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I can't say that i have read the whole series, but i have read the other book in this series by Roxanne Snopek and i loved that book too.

Deirdre (DeeDee) is the twin sister of Maddie who is in her previous book and she has returned home as her modeling career has not taken off the way in which she had hoped.  Re-evaluating her life she meets Issac and his brother Mark.

A push leads her into looking after Mark who has Downs Syndrome and making all of their lives better.

Issac is more reserved, but DeeDee brings all of them out from the shadows and their preconceived ideas to new beginnings and new friends.

DeeDee finds more than friends on her return home.  She reconnects with family, finds a man and his brother she turns out to love, but more importantly, she finds herself.

Loved this book.

REVIEW - Adrift (Kill Devil Hills #4) by Sarah Darlington

The Book
Release Date: 30 May 2017

What happens when the world thought you were dead and now suddenly you aren’t?

Ben Turner is back! Not quite as dead as everyone thought, fresh out of a nine-month stay in prison, and back home in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Having been dishonorably discharged after charges of desertion from the military, this once well-loved local has fallen from the top. With no plans for college or the future, and hated by the town that once loved him, Ben feels like he’s drowning all over again.

Juniper is pregnant, alone, and running from her crazy fiancé. With only enough money for a one-way bus ticket, she heads to Kill Devil Hills, NC, a town she vacationed in as a little girl, a town she knows, come February, will have plenty of beach rentals to lie low in for the next couple months. Except she didn’t plan on getting caught on day one by the man living next door. Ben. He’s a man who has even more problems than she does, but maybe it’ll take a man like Ben to save her life.

**NEW ADULT ROMANCE**
Recommended for 18+. ADRIFT can be read as a standalone, but is recommended to be read fourth in Sarah Darlington's KILL DEVIL HILLS Series.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

We start to get to know Ben a little bit before in books two and three in the series, but this can be read as a stand alone book.

The book takes place well after Ben's return from the dead.  He has completed his sentence in Prison and is now on probation.

Juniper feels that her past life choices have made her weak and that her judgement of men is off, but a simple white lie has her pretending to be someone she is not in order to make a new life for herself.

Ben and Juniper have chemistry from the beginning, but with their pasts are slow to start things up with each other, however they find that it is only with each other can they relax and be more of themselves.

We get to see all of the other previous characters in tis book which help out when required showing a strong family bond.

I really liked this book and would be more than happy to read this series all over again.

REVIEW - Sexy Motherpucker (Bad Motherpuckers #2) by Lili Valente

The Book
Release Date: 22 May 2017

When the family dog trots in with my diaphragm in its mouth—in front of my date, his parents, and his adorable little girl—you would think I’d hit rock bottom.

WRONG.

Let’s back this up a sec…

Brendan Daniels is the sexiest man alive. The captain of the Badger’s NHL team is also clever, kind, funny, and was my good friend…until we cruised out of the friend zone one weekend with a red-hot fling. Come Monday morning, I wanted to keep riding the Big O train to happy town, but Brendan wanted someone who was “stepmom” material.

A.K.A, not me, apparently.

The problem? I’m crazy in love with him and his daughter. So when he asks me to be his pretend girlfriend for a long weekend with his former in-laws, I say yes. We’re still friends, after all, and friends don’t let friends fake it alone.

***

Laura Collins is the last woman I should be thinking about taking in the back seat of my car, in the woods behind my in-laws’ house, or in a hotel room where we’re sharing one very small, very squeaky bed.

I need a steady, stable influence for my daughter, not a fling with this too wild, too young, too impulsive red head. So what if she’s beautiful and intense and passionate and has the biggest heart I’ve ever known?

I don’t want to fall in love. I really don’t. The whole “pretend girlfriend” thing was supposed to solve my problems, buy me a little more time.

But when it comes to Laura?

Hell, maybe I’m just not cut out for faking it.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Lili Valente has knocked another puck out of the ice rink with this book, it had me crying, laughing and routing for both of our main characters to get their happy ever after.

Although this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone even if we were introduced to the characters in the first book.

Brendan is sweet and loyal to what his daughter needs, but has gone without companionship for the last two years, it is only the thought of losing his little girl that spurs him on further to find someone to share his heart and his bed.

Laura has a very soft spot for Brendan's daughter and is the sister of Libby who found her happy ending his book one with their best friend.  Laura is the PR guru for the ice hockey team that Brendan plays for and has always thought that he was good looking, he has just been really grumpy and unwilling to cooperate in the PR.

These characters were a good laugh and i will never forget the moment the dog comes in with her contraceptive.

A lough out loud book!

REVIEW - Falling for her Brother's Best Friend (Tea for Two Book 1) by Noelle Adams

The Book
Release Date: 7 June 2017
Goodreads Link

Special pre-release price of just $.99!
After too many bad decisions in romance, Emma is going on a man-fast. For the next six months, she's fasting from men. No sex. No dating. No soulful gazes. No fond memories of her first crush. She's going to spend the time focusing on her career, getting in touch with herself, and helping her two best friends with the launch of their new tea room. No men.

And that includes her brother's best friend, Noah Hart, who has just returned to their hometown.

She doesn't want Noah anyway. He might be even hotter than he was before, but he's not a nice guy anymore. He's made a fortune by acting ruthless in business, and the last thing he's looking for is small-town domestic life. He doesn't even want to be in town again, but a sick grandmother guilted him into it. Then he has nerve to not even recognize Emma when he sees her again. Maybe it's been seven years, but a decent guy would remember his best friend's little sister.

Noah is not a decent guy. Anyway, Emma is on a man-fast. And she doesn't want Noah.

At all.

Fifteen years ago, three girls were thrown together because their brothers were best friends. Now they're all grown up, and their brothers are grown up too. The Tea for Two series tells their stories.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is another great start to a new series from this author and we get to see bits from all of the other characters that will have books of their own.

Emma had a very bad crush on Noah when she was a teenager and when he does not recognise her when he first sees her everything changes, he see's a side of her he has never noticed before.

Patrick, Ryan and Noah were friends so when they were younger they pushed their little sisters, Emma, Carol and Ginny together who also became best friends.

Carol and Ginny have set up a tea shop with the brothers as investors and Emma who did the business plan.  Its a business where all have something invested.

Things move very quickly with Noah and Emma and it had me almost in tears sometimes, but they are more open with each other than they expected.

A lovely story that had me wanting to read the other books immediately.

REVIEW - Apollo's 11: A Filthy Rich Single Dad Romance by Anna Collins

The Book
Release Date: 16 May 2017
Goodreads Link

The moment I saw Calista Cohen, I knew I was screwed. She looked so much like the girl on the painting. I had to find out more.

I was so intrigued to meet the woman who had the nerve to say exactly what she thought of my manuscript that I had to see her in person.
Her review was so insightful, as if she already knew me. It almost felt like a window to my soul.
She should definitely be worth checking.
Suddenly I find myself in her house and I am mesmerized by her sight. She looks divine and sexy as hell. And at that moment, I already know.
I have to have her.
Calista Cohen is going to be mine and there is no way around it.
I am Apollo Irons and I always get what I want.
But I have to be careful. No one must find out my most precious secret.

No one must find out about my son. I can't risk losing him over anything.

*Apollo's 11 is a steamy, yet sweet STANDALONE contemporary romance with a scorching hot alpha billionaire single dad. I don't enjoy cliffhangers or cheating, so I don't include them in my books. I can also guarantee you a super sweet happily-ever-after ♥ Please note this contains a bonus book, both books are full-length novels.

My Opinion  4 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Apollo Irons is writing his autobiography and has sent it out to a select few to get feedback.  It is only Calli that returns negative criticism which has Apollo wanting to meet her and hiring her to ghost-edit his book.

Calli is already in a relationship but Apollo decides that he wants to pursue her, regardless that she has been in a stale relationship for four years.

The chemistry between the two is instantaneous and is purely PG until the inevitable breakup of Calli's relationship with her boyfriend.

The Irons family seem fairly close, well Apollo and Perseus, with their sister Helen only a good thing when she is around.

We get backstabbing wanna be lovers who are friends, business adversaries and a whole lot of angst as to the relationship as to what their "relationship" is.

The writing is good and had me turning page after page, although there are some issues that we sorted a bit too quickly for my liking.

I will certainly be picking up other books by this author.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This series has continued to get better and better with each book and holy hell, where do i find me an Agent Gill Clausen!!

We get to see a slightly wilder side to Jo along with the other personalities that we know that she has to foster.  Jo like her friends finds herself in danger, but this time she has someone else apart from her friends who want to help.

Gill Clausen is a man who has a little wild side, but tempers that with his good side as a federal agent.  When Jo comes in for a training course offered by his partner who met and befriended Jo  when Hope was missing, Gill finds someone  who is his match.

I loved Gill, i loved Jo and the fact we get to see her friends relationships evolve as they continue to be happy since their own books.

This is an author that i always greatly anticipate each and every book and this one has not disappointed.

Another must read book.

REVIEW - The Dangerous Billionaire (Tate Brothers #1) by Jackie Ashenden

The Book
Release Date: 2 May 2017
Goodreads Link

Money doesn't always change the man in this new standalone romance from Jackie Ashenden.

Navy SEAL Sullivan "Van" Tate has been called home to reluctantly inherit an empire and finds himself facing the most difficult mission of all: love.

"Sinfully sexy."--Opal Carew on Mine to Take

Nothing about Sullivan "Van" Tate is what it seems. A Navy SEAL raised among the New York City elite, Van prefers heart-pounding action over a Wall Street corner office. But when his adoptive father dies and his business rivals move in to overtake his empire, Van must suit up to save the company and protect the one woman most forbidden to him...and the object of Van's most dangerous desires.

Chloe Tate is as ambitious as she is gorgeous. With a newfound independence, Chloe is no longer a prisoner on her father's ranch. But everything changes when losing her father may also mean losing her life. Even with her survival on the line, Chloe can't deny the burning attraction she feels the moment she locks eyes with Van, her rich, rough and ready, foster brother and the new head of her father's company. Tall, dark, and muscled, he's the one man who she has no business being with. But how can she resist a Navy Seal Warrior when he'll do anything to protect her?

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

A series with three SEAL brothers?  Count me in!

Sullivan "Van" Tate is the oldest of three brothers who were adopted and one much younger sister.  Van is with his brothers when they all read the letters that their adopted father leaves them and Van has been instructed to look after Chloe as her life is in danger.

Van having been in the Navy has issued to work out and Chloe has her own issues, but mostly it is Van that needs to let go and get through his past.

Cesare de Santis makes an appearance and he is the father of the brothers in the Billionaire Fairy Tales Novella series.

Chloe takes quite a few knocks and her entire world seems to spin around her.  The only person she can really trust now is Van, but can she trust him with her heart?

I really loved this book and cannot wait to read Lucas and Wolf's stories.

REVIEW - A Baby For My Billionaire Boss #1 by Cassandra Zara

The Book
Release Date: 3 May 2017

“I told you not to do that,” he said, a lustful look of intensity in his eyes...

Winthrow Financial. The fastest growing firm on Wall Street, and I had been lucky enough to land a job there right out of college.

Despite being the youngest woman on the floor, I quickly made waves in the company. Even the CEO, Carter Winthrow, took notice of my mathematical skills. When he came to meet me personally, he also took notice of my body as well.

Within days, I was promoted to Carter's personal assistant, second guessing his stock moves and checking his managers' work. While the job itself was fantastic, the best part was getting to work with Carter himself. The suave and sexy billionaire playboy managed to exude charm and confidence every time we spoke. And as I proved myself great at the job again and again, he became more and more comfortable with me.

As I saw him giving to charities and holding his niece, I realized he was the ultimate alpha male. Those strong, chiseled abs and huge arms was all that the “Sexiest Bachelor” lists saw, but I saw the real man. A family man, just waiting for someone to give him that family.

I knew that what I wanted, more than this job, more than a career, more than life itself, was Carter's to give. I would do anything to get Carter to give it to me. And I had a feeling that he felt the same way. He wanted to give me something that would keep us together for the rest of our lives.

A baby.

My Opinion  3 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a very quick read as this is a novella series for a book.

The story moves very fast as a young twenty something seems to find that what she really wants to be is a mother when she has only just started her first full time job after college.  She wants a baby with the playboy billionaire CEO Cater Winthrow.

What annoys me is that there is no mention of contraception between the two, however we already know that Jane is no going to ask for any GRRRRR. STD's anyone?  It is more than stupid, but i couldn't help but get swept up in the story, i just now have to wait until the other novella's come out to finish the story.

REVIEW - Relinquish (Balm in Gilead Book 1) by Noelle Adams

The Book
Release Date: 10 May 2017
Goodreads Link

She was supposed to be taking a break from work to rethink her future. She wasn't supposed to be falling in love with her boss.

He was supposed to be resting at a beachside retreat and unwinding from the stress of his job. He wasn't supposed to be wanting her in ways that had nothing to do with the job
.

Betsy has worked with John Davenport for four years, and she's always been an efficient, practical member of his crisis response team. He might be brilliant, attractive, and good-hearted, but he's also driven, rather grumpy, and emotionally unavailable. Plus, he's never looked at her with any interest other than a friend and co-worker. No one has ever really been interested in her. She's never been the kind of woman that men fall for.

No matter how much she loves her job with an international relief organization, she knows she can't do it forever. But as soon as she begins thinking toward a different future, John starts to respond to her in a completely new way.

Maybe it's just a temporary feeling, prompted by some much needed downtime. Or maybe they've had more in their hearts than they've ever admitted.

Relinqiush is the first book in the Balm in Gilead series, a spin-off from the Willow Park series about couples who fall in love in a physical and spiritual rest center on the North Carolina coast called Balm in Gilead.

My Opinion  4 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a spin off of the Willow Park series which i loved and this no doubt will become another series that i love.

Both of these series loosely originate along the christian faith and the couples doubts and struggles as they find their way through their own troubles and into a happy and successful relationship with both God and a spouse.

John and Besty have been working together as colleagues abroad for years, but are taking a sabbatical, of which John's is forced.

Betsy is strong and has to tell John that he has been duped, but it does not take very long out of their normal lives that things start to change in the way they see each other and the way they start to treat each other.

This is another solid book and i was really happy that we got to see some of the characters from the Willow Park series in the book, long may it continue.

Can't wait for the other books to come out!

And when Sierra's ex comes back into the picture and threatens to ruin their arrangement, William has to decide whether he is willing to lose everything to keep the thief who's stolen his heart...

My Opinion 2.5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I really wanted to to like this book, the description captivated me and i liked the front cover, but the story itself, just didn't do it for me in the end.

Things moved just a a little too fast, there were too many silly secrets between the two, or lies that you just knew straight away that were going to come between the two and bite them in the butt.

The characters themselves were well rounded and we got a good backstory in order that we could understand them a little better, i just wish that they hadn't been quite so stupid about things.

REVIEW - The Billionaire Beast (Billionaire Fairytales #2) by Jackie Ashenden

The Book
Release Date: 7 March 2017
Goodreads Link

Dark, tortured, and intimidating, these dominant billionaires will steal their innocent heroines' breath away. Overwhelmed by their desire to control their world, they push their heroines to explore their deepest desires. But even the most unworldly of heroines can unlock these billionaires' secrets.
Nero de Santis: Damaged. Bastard. Beast.
Nero hasn’t left his house in ten years—he demands the world come to him, and the world is only too happy to bend to the strong-willed billionaire. Ruthless, cold, and selfish, Nero wants for nothing and takes care of no one but himself. His last handful of assistants have left his house in tears, but the prim redhead applying for the job looks up to the task. Nero has spent his life shut within the walls he built, with no care to have more than a window to the outside world. But the fiery passion he senses beneath his reserved assistant’s exterior makes him want to break down the barriers he lives behind, and unleash the beast within.
Phoebe Taylor: Uptight. Misunderstood. Engaged.
Phoebe needs the obscene amount of money that comes with being Nero’s personal assistant for one thing, and one thing only—to pay for the mounting hospital costs that her fiancee’s two-year coma continues to incur. She’s heard rumors that the de Santis beast is a force that cannot be tamed—but even she isn’t prepared to handle the smoldering intensity simmering beneath his hard shell of feral dominance. Nero is hiding something, something he is fighting with every step he takes. Yet he can’t help but stake his claim on this woman who has shaken up his life, and Phoebe can’t believe this animal of a man is the one person to ever look into her eyes and see her soul. Nero wants to keep her. He wants to devour her. And Phoebe just might let him.

My Opinion  4 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a whole new twist on the idea of beauty and the beast.

Nero seems like the ultimate nasty boss until we get to hear his backstory, which made me feel so sad for him, especially as you can see that he has not gotten over the way that he was brought up.

Phoebe is a very strong woman, who has a saviour complex as she seems to always want to help fix people.  Her parents, her fiancé and now Nero.  Phoebe however is the first person that has show any interest in getting to know the real Nero and understands very quickly that Nero does not seem to understand certain emotions and elects to very patiently teach him.

Nero makes brilliant steps into beating his agoraphobia by the end with Phoebe's help and you can't help but be impressed that he is making the changes in order that he can be with Phoebe.

REVIEW - The Perfect Illusion by Winter Renshaw

The Book
Release Date: 4 April 2017
Goodreads Link

It’s only pretend…

And it’s only three months.

I’m in the midst of scrawling “I QUIT!” onto his fancy cardstock letterhead when my boss corners me. He needs a favor, he says. And then he asks how well I can act …

Hudson Rutherford needs a fiancée.

With his old-moneyed parents forcing him to marry some bratty hotel heiress and his hedonistic, playboy lifestyle at stake, the only way to get them to back off is to make them think he’s truly, madly, deeply in love … with me—his third personal assistant this year.

But I can hardly stand working for him as it is.

Hudson is crazy hot and well-aware. He’s arrogant, spoiled, and silver-spooned. He checks me out when he thinks I’m not looking, and his life is a revolving door of beautiful women. Plus, he can’t even pronounce my name correctly—how’s he going to convince his family he’s in love with me?!

I’m seconds from giving him a resounding “no” when he flashes his signature dimpled smirk and gives me a number that happens to contain a whole mess of zeroes …

On second thought, I think I can swallow my pride.

But, oh baby, there’s one thing I haven’t told him, one teensy-tiny thing that could make this just a hair complicated …

Here’s hoping this entire thing doesn’t explode in our faces.

My Opinion  3.5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a book in where you can tell quite quickly that there is going to be a blow up between both characters as their is a major secret held back by Mari that should have been mentioned right from the beginning.

The characters are well rounded, but you have the arrogant, hot millionaire/billionaire alpha male Hudson with our strong leading lady Mari who initially cant stand Hudson.

The chang in demeanour from Hudson comes quite rapidly along with the change in feelings from Mari, which can give a feeling of whiplash.

Sometimes things felt a little unbelievable, but then this is fiction and not real life.  I especially thought the friendship baby angle was a bit weird, but i guess it does happen.
