REVIEW - The Things I Do for You (The Alexanders #2) by M. Malone

The Book
Release Date: 31 March 2013
Goodreads Link

A bargain. A baby. A billion things can go wrong.

Nicholas Alexander doesn’t mind being called a playboy. His charm serves him well in business and a beautiful woman is always on his arm. Except the one he’s in love with.

Raina Winters doesn’t believe in love, so when she’s dumped right before her wedding, she’s more upset about losing what she really wants from marriage. A baby.

When Nick learns about Raina’s dilemma, his first reaction is to leave her hanging like she left him after their steamy one-night stand. But he finally has something Raina needs, so he offers her a deal. He’ll give her a baby if she gives him something he desires just as much.

Just two little words.

I. Do.

WARNING: This book contains encounters with a drunken Elvis, pushy mamas, tabloid shenanigans, several occurrences of bad cooking and hot sex between two people who aren't even sure they like each other. Just saying...

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and CrushStar Romance for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Even though i have not read book one in the series you really don't need to in order to follow what is happening with the Alexander brothers.

Raina is a model who wants a baby but knows that her time is running out.  Nick is his almost brother in-law thanks to Raina's twin sister Ridley and Nick has wanted her ever since the beginning.

Nick decides he can be the one to give her what she wants, if she gives him what he wants. Her. Forever.

Nick goes to long lengths to make sure that Raina always feels loved, wanted and respected and always tells her that he does not expect her declarations of love, although he hopes that with time she will change her mind and start to love him.

We meet characters from the previous book and other brothers who will no doubt have stories of their own.

This book is really well written and makes me want to blow my amazon limit and download the rest of the series.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Patchwork Press for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This  is a book i am ashamed to say that I just could not finish, at 65% i finally gave up on the too over the top environmental world saving stuff coming out of the pages.

Caitlin is supposed to be in her 20's but acts more like a stuborn teenager and the way she wants to run away after having been kidnapped, then decides to stay just to see what happens really annoyed me.

Micah is her love interest and the things he has done so far to get her to tap into her powers did not sit well either.

I also had trouble especially at the beginning with the authors style of writing itself.

This is not a series I will be continuing.

REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - Doing It Over (Most Likely To Series Book 1) by Catherine Bybee

The Book
Release Date: 19 April 2016
Goodreads Link

Voted Most Likely to Succeed, Melanie Bartlett ended up anything but. The down-on-her-luck single mom wants a complete do-over—is that too much to ask? With her family long gone from River Bend, strong, independent Mel is as surprised as anyone to end up in the quaint small town she once called home. But with her friends, Jo and Zoe, by her side, and a comfortable room at Miss Gina’s quirky bed-and-breakfast, she just might have turned the corner on a new life.
Wyatt Gibson never liked the big city. River Bend suits the ruggedly handsome builder just fine. Wyatt knows he’s home, even if that means being charmed by the appearance of Melanie and her spunky, adorable daughter. Is Wyatt’s calm devotion—even amid a coming storm—enough to convince Mel she may have found a home to call her own, a family that never leaves, and a true love to last a lifetime?

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I have always loved each and every book that i have picked up by this author and this book is no exception.

Melanie has come back for her ten year high school reunion, but the last ten years have been nothing like what Melanie had expected or planned for.

Wyatt and Melanie's first encounter is not the best, however after a proper first encounter the attraction is very much there, especially on Wyatt's side.

The story is very well written and we get multiple points of view, not just Melanie and Wyatt that not only adds to the story but gets us more acquainted with the rest of the characters which helps set up further books in the series.  I can see novels for at least three characters.

Can't wait to see what happens next.

The Book
Release Date: 18 May 2013
Goodreads Link

Two Steamy Stories in one bundle, includes BDSM romances CLAIMING LAUREN and DOMINATING AMY.

About CLAIMING LAUREN

One night should have been enough...

Twenty-seven-year-old Lauren Brant is the perfect society wife. She hosts dinners for her husband’s colleagues. She attends charity functions. She’s entirely appropriate…except for her clawing need to submit to a man she knows only as Master.

Unable to deny her cravings, she arranges to meet Master. No names, no faces, nothing but submission and sensation. Except it isn’t enough. Even before the night ends, Lauren needs more.

But “more” isn’t part of the arrangement and she returns to her polished life only to discover her estranged husband has come home. After five years of being invisible to Jacob Brant, Lauren doesn’t know what to do with him. He, however, knows exactly what to do with her…

About DOMINATING AMY

Till-death-do-us-part should have been enough…

Mac Corcoran spent a long time running from the specter of his parents’ abusive marriage. He’s worked hard to suppress his dark urges and channeled his energy into building his own relationship upon a bedrock of respect and equality.

It takes two people to make a marriage work, however, and when Amy Corcoran’s submissive needs hit a breaking point, her only options are to walk away from the man she loves or force him to acknowledge her as the woman she is now. Even if that woman isn’t the same one he married ten years earlier.

With no more time for running, can Mac overcome his fear and be the Dominant man Amy needs him to be or will fear of repeating the past cost him the only woman he’s ever loved?

My Opinion  3 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This collection contains two short stories linked by a sex club for those in the BDSM world and a troubled marriage.

The stories are long enough to make you feel satisfied and are only the briefest glimpse into a world where the woman wants to be dominated by her man, in these cases in the mildest of forms.

The stories give you a good idea at the authors writing and help you discover if you want to read more of her works.

A good little taster.

COVER REVEALS - True North Series by Sarina Bowen

The Book
Release Date: 14 June 2016
Goodreads Link

The new series is set in Vermont. True North is populated by the tough, outdoorsy mountain men that populate the Green Mountain State. They raise cows and they grow apples. They chop a lot of wood, especially when they need to blow off steam. (Beards are optional but encouraged.)

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the orchard.

The last person Griffin Shipley expects to find stuck in a ditch on his Vermont country road is his ex-hookup. Five years ago they’d shared a couple of steamy nights together. But that was a lifetime ago.

At twenty-seven, Griff is now the accidental patriarch of his family farm. Even his enormous shoulders feel the strain of supporting his mother, three siblings and a dotty grandfather. He doesn’t have time for the sorority girl who’s shown up expecting to buy his harvest at half price.

Vermont was never in Audrey Kidder’s travel plans. Neither was Griff Shipley. But she needs a second chance with the restaurant conglomerate employing her. Okay—a fifth chance. And no self-righteous lumbersexual farmer will stand in her way.

They’re adversaries. They want entirely different things from life. Too bad their sexual chemistry is as hot as Audrey’s top secret enchilada sauce, and then some.

A gripping romance that combines courtroom intrigue with a dash of Barbados, The Love Deception is the latest book from Jennifer St George.

My Opinion  3 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Books Australia for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book is based in Australia, but also has a section in Barbados and makes you crave a nice hot sunny place to read it.

Its a good romance, with trust issues and a woman who has spent years getting to the place she wants in order to help her beloved father.

Damon is a man who knows what he needs but he also has a slight hero complex especially with how much he is helping Felicity out behind the scenes.

Its a light read with a few steamy scenes and has a feel good HEA.

My Opinion  2.5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book is full of 8 very short stories that seem to finish even before they have begun  thereby leaving you feeling lacking in the story.

This anthology only seems to give you a very little taste of the authors with stories based in the same town and around members of the fire crew.

I feel that this anthology would have been better with just four stories that could have been expanded to give you something worth reading.

I found this to be a bit of a let down.

REVIEW - Fugly (Fugly, #1) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

The Book
Release Date: 15 September 2015
Goodreads Link

A Contemporary Romance from New York Times Bestselling Author Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

My name is Lily Snow. I am twenty-five years old, and despite being born with an unattractive face, I have never doubted who I am: smart, driven, and beautiful on the inside.

Until I met Maxwell Cole.

He’s handsome, excessively wealthy, and the owner of Cole Cosmetics. It’s been my dream to work for this man for as long as I can remember. The good news is he wants to hire me. The bad news is he wants me for all the wrong reasons. Ugly reasons.

In exchange, he’s offered me my dreams on a silver platter. The job. The title. A beautiful future. But this man is as messed up and ugly as they come on the inside. I’m not sure anyone can help him, and he just might take my heart down with him.

My Opinion  4 STARS
The only reason that this book did not get 5 stars is because i could not visualise a woman with a stunning body, but a face so ugly that she would get such negative comments, with people being so extremely rude.

Lily is however a very strong witty character and i loved her sense of humour and the fact that she was stronger than she thought she was.

Max was also a strong character who always tried his best to let Lily know that the problem was his and always relied to help her se how strong she was and also to challenge her to be a better her.

I wasn't sure of the chemistry between the two to begin with, but soon felt it leaping off the page as Max seemed to get over his problem and let go, making us feel her beauty had changed.

A tricky subject perhaps to write about, but handled really well and i felt that each character came out well.

I really enjoyed this book.

REVIEW - Primal: London Mob Book Two (London Mob #2) by Michelle St. James

The Book
Release Date: 5 April 2016

***BOOK TWO IN THE THRILLING NEW SERIES THAT BEGAN WITH SAVAGE***

He wouldn’t rest until she was his - this time for good.

Farrell Black could hardly blame Jenna for leaving after the shootout that almost cost their daughter her life. Now he’ll stop at nothing to protect them, and he's spent the last three months fortifying his private estates, amassing enough armor to supply a small army, and preparing for the moment when she’ll come back to him.

And she WILL come back to him.

Listening to her heart was a luxury she couldn’t afford.

Jenna Carver is settled back in London with her daughter. She’s still haunted by the close call at Farrell’s private estate — and by the unanswered questions surrounding the research her father hid before his death. But for now she’s focused on Lily and on maintaining the carefully constructed wall she’s erected between her and Farrell — the one and only thing that keeps her from falling under his spell all over again. But then an attempt is made to kidnap Lily, and it quickly becomes clear they have enemies in very high places.

Enemies who will stop at nothing to eliminate them.

After secreting Lily and Jenna away in one of his many luxury hideaways, Farrell turns his attention to the people responsible for the development of a bioweapon that could start a world war. Now he and Jenna are in a race against time from Tuscany to Amsterdam to Berlin, desperate to unlock a puzzle that could mean the end of of everything — including their final chance at love.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book is just as good as the first and starts just a few months after the previous book finishes.

Both Jenna and Farrell have bags of chemistry of which neither can deny when they are in the same room.  They get each other like know-one else ever will and it is only Jenna and her wish to keep Lily safe and her concerns about Farrells way of life that is keeping them apart.

As they both race around europe in order to fins out more about the Marberg virus and who is hunting them Jenna find what she is made of and what she is willing to do.

I really cannot wait fir the last book, Eternal, to come out and to find out who is behind it all and to find out how things are going to end with Jenna and Farrell.

Release Date: 25 April 2016
Goodreads Link

F*ck Prince Charming. Sometimes, you need a Magnificent Bastard.

Face it, ladies: love sucks and then you cry…while your ex rides off into the sunset banging your best friend.

But why let a break-up end in tears when it can end with sweet revenge? Enter Magnificent Bastard Consulting and me, chief executive bastard. I’ve got it all—looks, brains, a heart of gold, and the killer instinct guaran-damn-teed to make your ex regret the day he said goodbye.

With the help of my virtual assistant, I’ve built an empire giving broken-hearted women the vengeance they deserve, while keeping myself far from the front lines of the heart. Life is a bowl of cherries, until my virtual assistant shows up on my real doorstep for the first time, begging for a Magnificent Bastard intervention of her own.

Damn... She’s a bona fide sex kitten.

I pride myself on being a true pro, but pretending to be her lover soon leads to giving it to her good, hard, fast, and up against the wall. And somewhere between getting balls deep in my sweet and sexy assistant and watching her ex beg for a second chance, I break every last one of my damn rules—professional and personal.

So what’s my next move? Fight for the girl who makes me want to get up on a white horse and ride to her rescue, or stay a Magnificent Bastard to the end?

Warning: MAGNIFICENT BASTARD is a stand-alone erotic romance told from the
hero’s point of view. No cliffhanger. Lots of dirty talk.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Lili Valente usually writes series so when i hear that she was writing a stand-alone novel i really jumped at the chance of writing it and she really hit the ball out of the park with this one.

The story is told from the guys POV and it makes a nice change.

Bash is a strong character that talks dirty, is a knight in shining armour for many woman who feel wronged and is a sensitive soul.  You really cannot help but fall in love with him and his assistant Penny shows herself to be a strong character as well.

I liked the addition of Aiden, Bash's friend and have a small hope that we get a story for him somewhere along the road as he seems like a very lovable character.

They are a match tailor-made for trouble.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I jumped at the chance to read this after having read the prequel to this series.

As with all other books by this author it had me laughing out loud and really falling for the characters.  The plot is well developed and the story really draws you in so that by the end of the book you can't help but want to have more.

You get an inkling of which characters are going to have stories next, but ultimately it doesn't matter as they are all somehow linked to the Happy Pants cafe.

Taylor and Bennett really jell and Bennett has a very soft side that not many actually get the chance to see as his he tends to scare people off with his brash manner.  I was therefore really glad when he got the HEA he deserved.

REVIEW - Happy Pants Cafe (Happy Pants 0.5) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

The Book
Release Date: 17 June 2014
Goodreads Link

SHHH….IT’S A SECRET!

For over forty-five years, singles have been secretly flocking to The Happy Pants Café. And what are they searching for? It’s not coffee. And it’s not pants. It’s true love, and everyone who goes, finds it!

So what, exactly, is the café’s big secret? Harper Branton, a columnist for the San Francisco Tribune, who’d sooner believe in unicorns than in true love, is about to find out. And it’s the perfect story to save her train wreck of a career.

Too bad she’s got competition. He’s sexy, he’s arrogant, and he thinks she’s crazy. ("What kind of person doesn’t believe in love?") And this coming from a man!

When these two rivals go head to head, it's more like a WWF smackdown. A shared history binds them in wonderful, terrible ways quickly turning their duel into more than just a fight for a story.

Will they tear each other apart for the win or end up as two more satisfied Happy Pants customers?

Note: Stand-alone story

My Opinion  5 STARS
This novella is have you laughing out loud and believing that cookies can help you find your true love.

We meet our two main characters and quiet soon are fed an idea about the Happy pants Cafe, however by the end, we get a different sense of the cafe and really feel glad that our main characters get the happy ending they deserve.

Harper is a facts girl and does not believe in that stuff called love.  Austin believe in love but has not found the true love of his life yet.

Austin is not afraid to speak out about what he wants, nor is he the kind that minds embarrassing himself in the name of love.

I really loved this novella and really hope that we get to see a little more of them in future novels, but any book by this author has had me smiling and laughing at the characters antics and vocabulary.

A recommended read!

REVIEW - Vacation Hell (Princess of Hell #4) by Eve Langlais

The Book
Release Date: 4 February 2016
Goodreads Link

Juggling a happily ever after is harder than it looks especially when it involves a fallen angel who is my soul mate, a hunky cat shifter, who stole my heart and a darkly delicious vampire who is like that piece of forbidden chocolate you just can’t resist.

Add in a precocious little girl, who is totally spoiled rotten—not surprising given nana and poppa were Mother Earth and the Devil—and my life was a never ending series of dramas, foot stomping, yelling and tears. By me.

I never knew being a grown up could be so much damned work which is why I decided we needed a vacation. But of course, being Lucifer’s daughter, that didn’t turn out as expected. Now I’ve go to figure out if my bathtub is big enough for a hunky merman—and is there room in my heart for one more?

My Opinion  5 STARS
A book by Eva Langlais never fails to entertain me and this one did not fall short of the mark and leads the way for book 5.

We have a devil wearing a rain mack with devised rubber ducks, a merman to join the fold and a little girl with attitude.

Muriel already has three men, Alric, her soul mate, David and Teviel.  Now it looks like they will be welcoming Tristan into their fold.  Not that Muriel want to add another man to her brood, she barely has enough time for herself as it is.

But with a little hand helping to push her in the right direction and a little warning the brood are ready to expand as they need help in getting muriel ready to fight harder than ever to break the spell upon her father.

I really want the next book now and you will too :)

While his will is strong, there is something about the dark-haired beauty that he finds impossible to resist...

My Opinion  3 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and excuse Publishing for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is box set only covers 1-6 of the series, however there is a book 7 that is NOT a part of the set which is just daft.

Grant is Nikki's uncle, but not by blood.  He was adopted.  Things change on Nikki's nineteenth birthday when the uncle/niece relationship takes a major detour.

This is not a series to read is you do not like taboo subjects or sex on almost every single page.  Yes there is a plot line within the series, but they seriously have that much sex that eventually your like "what? again?"

Things are very fast paced and a lot happens testing the strength of our couple including the age gap of about 15 years.

It's a good series, but would have been better if the last book of the series had been added.

REVIEW - One Week With Her Husband (Eden Manor #3) by Noelle Adams

The Book
Release Date: 16 March 2016

An Eden Manor Book
Three years ago, Cassandra's marriage fell apart, and she separated from her husband, Silas. She moved away to start a new life, but now she's back home, determined to end the marriage for good. She might still love him, but they can't live together without hurting each other. Divorce is the only option left.
Silas is big, rough, and sexy, and he's never liked to talk. He's been living like a recluse since she left, shutting himself off from the world. He reluctantly agrees to an amicable divorce--if she's willing to spend time with him every day for a week.
She doesn't know he's planning to change her mind by the time the week is over.

My Opinion  5 STARS
This is my favourite book of the trilogy.  I wanted to read Sila's story since we were introduced to him in book one and it did not disappoint.

He is the very strong silent type and you can really see that the split of the marriage to the woman that he loves has affected him deeply.  Cass is also a strong woman who feels that she just needs to move on.

As both finally speak up to each other and spend an hour a day just being together, old feeling come out to play and they have to re-evaluate what is more important.  Their old dreams, or creating new ones.

REVIEW - One Week With Her (Ex) Stepbrother (Eden Manor #2) by Noelle Adams

The Book
Release Date: 2 March 2016
Goodreads Link

When her father got remarried fourteen years ago, Zach first entered Missy's life. The marriage only lasted a year, but her ex-stepbrother kept hanging around.

Now Zach works with her in her father's landscaping business, and he's sweeter, funnier, and sexier than ever. And Missy can't help but wonder if it's wrong to think about him in a different way. He was only her stepbrother for a year, after all, and now he's acting like he wants to be a lot more.

My Opinion  4 STARS
I always enjoy reading a book by Noelle Adams, purely for the fact that I can always depend on her for a simple romance that tugs on the heart strings but delivers my happy ever after ending.

In this novella we have two EX step siblings who have feelings for each other but have never said anything to each other before.

A small change in events has the pair finding out that each harbours more than just sibling feelings and a change in the dynamics between them has one freaking out a little.

It is simple advice from dad and a prod from an old woman that finally have the pair united as a fully fledged pair ready to move on with their HEA lives.

We also get to see a little more of Dan and Vanessa from book one.
