REVIEW - Beached with the Bad Boy (Bad Boys on Holiday #3) by Sylvia Pierce

The Book
Release Date: 18 March 2016

“I want you on your hands and knees in the sand, right here, right now, and I don’t give a f*ck who’s watching.”

There’s nothing Layla Hart loves more than a hot, dirty-talking guy taking control… in the pages of her manuscript. But after a devastating breakup, the bestselling romance author has lost her muse. Deadline looming, she’s hoping a week at her favorite Cali beach rental will get her juices flowing again. No distractions, no drama—nothing but the pounding surf, the salty ocean breeze…

And Trick Harper, the infamous bad boy of punk rock, passed out in her bed. Naked. Hard. And—holy hell—HUGE.

Random chicks climbing into his bed in the middle of the night? For rock star Patrick “Trick” Harper, that’s just part of the gig—usually. But this spring break, he’s taking a sabbatical from sex, holing up in a beachfront cottage to clear his head and finish his latest song. Only one thing can screw up his plans…

A ball-busting, sexy-as-hell writer who leaves him aching to make her sing the high notes… preferably while he’s f*cking her senseless on the beach.

With neither willing to relinquish the double-booked rental, the battle of the sexes is on. A no-strings fling with a well-endowed rock star might be just what Layla needs to get her writing groove back… but will the cocky bad boy rise to the occasion, or is this breezy seaside romance doomed to sink?

This is a very sweet romance about two like minded people who find themselves struggling to finish their work and going somewhere they hope they can get their muse back.

In finding each other at a rental where they have been double booked things one up in ways they never saw coming.

I loved how sweet our rocker Trick Harper was and how Layla is a romance writer going through a few steamy scenes.

I really hope there are more novella's coming out in this series, I just can't get enough of them :)

REVIEW - Thunderstruck by Kendall Grace

The Book
Release Date: 29 May 2013

Desperate to distance herself from her previous life, and her high-powered ex, Jo Montgomery moves to a tiny slice of Georgia, an impetuous decision if there ever was one. Though not nearly as impetuous as throwing herself into an intimate relationship with her new neighbor. Hawk Stephens, a horse breeder and local celebrity, is sex personified, a man built for dark deeds in dark places. But he wants far more from Jo.

Every instinct tells Silent Hawk that Jo is The One, and despite her obvious uncertainty, his Apache beliefs give him faith. The signs are unmistakable. His skittish little filly requires a strong hand, patience…and blazing, mind-bending sex that leaves no doubt to his feelings and intentions.

But before their love affair has barely begun, the reemergence of Jo’s ex, coupled with a potentially tragic event, forces Jo to make decisions that not only damage Hawk’s beliefs, but could also shatter their tender romance beyond repair.

A Romantica® western erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

So we have a woman who has been hurt in the past by her ex-husbandand has moved halfway across America to get away from him and his family. and bought a "fixer-upper" that she found on the internet.

Silent Hawk is half Apache and has been waiting for the one for a while after a revolving door of women.  His dad is also really sweet and features well in the story, you can't help but loving him.

Friends are make and a new family is on the horizon for Jo, but only if she will embrace it  and let go of her past.

Things heat up fast between our two main characters and Hawk's father Ray just adds some fun into the mix a little.

It didn't take me long to get through this book and the ending was predicable, sweet and soft, and just what you would want for a Sunday read.

REVIEW - Hard Rider by Lydia Pax

The Book
Release Date: 17 March 2016

SHE WAS BORN OFF-LIMITS. BUT HE WAS BORN TO BREAK THE RULES.

RAM:

Nobody screws me. I take who I want, when I want, and I always leave them wanting more.
I want more too. Hurt this deep doesn't heal.
After meeting June, I know she’s the fix I need for the pain.
Her family’s full of cops? So what?
All I want is her. Those luscious curves, the lips that won't quit, hips that make my heart pound like a drum.
My outlaw brothers say me and her together will tear this whole town apart.
I don’t give a damn.

JUNE:

I never wanted to come home. There’s nothing here but old wounds too bitter to heal.
The day I returned, I met Ram. He’s an outlaw biker built like a god, but there’s nothing divine about his desires.
When he tells me he needs an old lady to stay in his club, we start a dangerous charade.
He gets a woman and time. I get my sheriff dad off my back. Breathing room.
But every breath around Ram is lightning hot and undeniable.
I can’t be with him for real. He’s every kind of wrong there’s ever been. Unless we’re careful, we’ll rip our lives apart.
But what’s happening between us feels too right to ignore, no matter the cost...

This is the first book that i have read by this author, and I was not disappointed at all.

We have two motorcycle groups at war with each other and law enforcement that is maybe not as squeaky clean as it should be.

Ram and June meet up by chance and there is an instant attraction between them.  Ram is also lucky that June is in a place where she can not only help him out, but they in turn, turn each other lives around.

June is a very strong woman with her own mind and is able not only to stand up for herself from others, she can do the right thing when it means hurting someone close to her

Ram has lost himself in a way after the death of his sister, only with war on the horizon and with June at his side does he become the man that he was meant to be.

It was a brilliant story that had me turning page after page, and the heat between the two just came off the pages in waves.

I will certainly be reading more of this author in the future.

REVIEW - Killing Me Softly by Leisl Leighton

Reclusive record producer, Alexia Deningham, guards her privacy fiercely. When she agrees to work with superstar Daemon Flagherty, and his band, it is only on the condition that they stay with her at her isolated country estate.

Fresh from a messy divorce, Daemon is determined to focus on his music. He wants to work with the best and that means Lexi. He certainly isn't looking for romance, but he finds himself intrigued by Lexi's secretive behavior.

Despite Lexi's reservations, their attraction grows. But someone is watching Lexi. Someone who will stop at nothing to destroy the woman who has ruined his life. When his campaign of terror ratchets out of control, Lexi must fight for survival but who can she really trust?

My Opinion  3.5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Books Australia for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Having read so many books recently based and written in American English, it felt slightly strange to read a book based in England and in British English for a change.

This book has romance, mystery, murder, hope and retribution, along with a host of other bits to keep you interested.

Daemon looks like a hard nut from the outside, but really he is a very loyal softie, especially to those closest to him, although he still has a few issues that get in the way.

Alexia also has her issues, but those are more visible and you have to give her kudos for the way that she has coped with what she has been dealt in life.

As a first novel this is brilliant and is really captivating, I really could not put this book down.

Seduction is quickly becoming the hottest new restaurant in Portland, and Addison Wade is proud to claim 1/5 of the credit. She’s determined to make it a success and can’t think of a better way to bring in new customers than live music. But when former rock star Jake Keller swaggers through the doors to apply for the weekend gig, she knows she’s in trouble. Addie instantly recognizes him—his posters were plastered all over her bedroom walls in high school—he’s all bad boy...exactly her type and exactly what she doesn’t need. Jake Keller walked away from the limelight five years ago and yearns to return to what’s always driven him: the music. If he gets to work for a smart-mouthed, funny-as-hell bombshell, all the better. But talking Addie into giving him the job is far easier than persuading her that he wants more than a romp in her bed. Just when she begins to drop her walls, Jake’s past finally catches up with him. Will Addie be torn apart once again or will Jake be able to convince her to drown out her doubts and listen to her heart?

REVIEW - Take Me (Lessons in Seduction Book 2) by Sophie Holloway

The Book
Release Date: 7 March 2016

I want more of her. All of her.

I want to drive her wild every single night until she's learned all the sinfully wicked things I need to teach her.

But someone is trying to tear us apart. Someone’s gunning for my company too. What they don’t know is that I’m the kind of man who protects what's his.

My family, my business, and this woman.

I will do whatever it takes.

Just try me.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book has taken up the heat even further than in book one.

All Eva can think about now is sex, sex with Jack in particular and she learns the things that Jack has to teach her well.  In fact Jack thinks she doesn't really need lessons.

Both have more of an effect on the other than they realise, both feeling things that they have never felt before.

We meet mad exes, see more in the saga of what or who is trying to get to Eva and hear a little more on the problems within the Fiorini group.

Be warned though, it ends on a cliff hangar.

He'll complicate all her plans...

Amy Morrison is supposed to be at her wedding. But when her husband-to-be jilts her at the altar, a distraught Amy runs to the only place she feels safe—her office. Besides, everyone who works on her floor is at her wedding...except him. Dax Harris. Playboy, executive, and Amy's official office enemy.

While he and Amy don't see eye-to-eye on the best of days, Dax can't help but feel badly when he sees Amy mid-meltdown. Next thing he knows, he's gotten her good and drunk, and they're making out like two  teenagers. And since neither of them want anything serious, why shouldn't they be frenemies-with-benefits? Because there is no possible way they could ever fall for each other...

My Opinion  4 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing LLC, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I really liked this book.  Amy was fun and very slightly nuts and owned who she was.  She has a good friend in Cassie.

Although Dax and Amy are supposed to be enemies you really don't get to see much of it, just little hits that soon disappear as the chemistry and friendship take over in its place.

Dax is really sweet.  He helps his parents where he can, obviously loves his sister Kat and his parents as he often mows their lawn.  Dax has a heart of gold even though a past hurt has meant he made the decision not to get close to women.

I really liked Kat as a character and hope she gets a spin off book in the future.

Two happy couples finally reunite in this novella that spans one night with Clay and Harley and a little of Hannah and Jackson.

With the Harts on holiday with their new baby Will, the reunion between the sisters goes really well with a little surprise, both Clay and Jackson are hiding a secret, but unbeknownst to them so is Harley.

REVIEW - Darker the Release (Revenge Saga #2) by Claire Kent

The Book
Release Date: 6 October 2015
Goodreads Link

USA Today bestselling author Claire Kent continues her emotionally charged story of longing, betrayal, and insatiable desire as two lovers find themselves in a deadly standoff of seduction.

Kelly Watson got involved with mogul Caleb Marshall for all the wrong reasons: namely, to prove that he murdered her father twenty years ago. But Caleb is hotter than hell, the sex is mind-blowing, and Kelly’s afraid that she’s falling for him despite her chilling suspicions. Now, the more time she spends in his arms, the more she risks betraying her identity and losing her heart. The only way out is to discover the truth before Caleb figures out who she really is.

Caleb’s feelings for Kelly are taking him into uncharted territory, replacing his weakness for call girls and one-night stands with a hunger for something real. Still, the ruthless businessman in him can’t resist looking into Kelly’s background. When his investigation suggests that he’s not the only one with something to hide, Caleb is forced to decide if he can trust someone who’s been telling him lies. For the first time, Caleb understands how intimacy can be so tempting—and, in the wrong hands, so dangerous.

I will admit that i only read this book as i wanted to see how it ended, i still did not connect to either character as i just found them unbelievable.

Secrets are finally revealed but instead of just talking to each other they play further games , which just annoyed me.

There is some good writing in regards to the feelings that Kelly goes through that had me shed a tear of two, but on the whole i would say that this book and this saga just was not for me.

You need to have read book one in order to make any sense of this book.
