REVIEW - The Bachelor Contract (The Bachelors of Arizona #3) by Rachel Van Dyken

The Book

Release Date: 28 Nov 2017

Goodreads Link

A second-chance romance from the #1 NYT bestseller of The Bet, Matchmaker and Elite series!

She's everywhere.

Ex-wife.

Love of his life.

The last person in the world he wanted to see...ever.

And now that he's working beside her every day, he can't escape her. Her scent, glimpses of her smile, even the tension in the air that makes his body hum with the kind of need he'd only experienced with one person-all of it is driving him over the edge.

Brant Wellington was certain of three things:

Alcohol wasn't going to solve this.

He really was losing his F-ing mind.

And his gorgeous ex-wife was going to be the death of him.

My Review     5 STARS

This is the last book of the series and focuses on the last brother, twin Brant and Nikki his ex wife.

Brant has been angry and sad ever since the brake up of his marriage to Nikki, she was his reason for living until things happened that neither of them talked about pushed them away.

Nikki has just been plodding on with her life with her job and her best friend Cole is the one who ended up helping her when she needed help.

Brant is told he needs to go and look at a hotel for as a job, but when he gets their he finds Nikki, but neither can stay away from the other, and old pain comes out.

I love how both still need the other and they both time the energy and the help from family and friends to pick up the pieces, finally talk to each other and find the solace they need in each other's arms.

REVIEW - The Playboy Bachelor (The Bachelors of Arizona #2) by Rachel Van Dyken

The Book
Release Date: 29 Aug 2017

She's no Sleeping Beauty. And he's definitely no prince . . . Margot McCleery could have lived her whole life without seeing Bentley Wellington again-her ex-best friend and the poster boy for Hot, Rich Man-Whores everywhere. But Margot's whiskey-augmented grandmother "buys" Bentley at a charity bachelor auction, and now suddenly he's at her door. Impossibly charming. Impossibly sexy. And still a complete and utter jackass. Bentley's just been coerced by his grandfather to spend the next thirty days charming and romancing the reclusive red-haired beauty who hates him. The woman he abandoned when she needed him the most. Bentley knows just as much about romance as he knows about love-nothing. But the more time he spends with Margot, the more he realizes that "just friends" will never be enough. Now all he has to do is convince her to trust him with her heart . . .

Margot has isolated herself ever since she was a teenager at the wheel and she got into an accident with her parents in the back of the car and they did not survive, while she lost her lower leg.

Bentley is a twin who has the weight of his family on his shoulders, he suffers with anxiety and also helps to keep his brother happy.

When Margots grandmother bids on his at an auction, he finds that it is his former best friend and person he ghosted after her accident that he has to spend the weekend with if he wants the VP job in marketing at the family business, but when he gets there, other plans have been put into place.

This book has two people facing up to their past and confronting the hurt that neither of them have come to terms with and also growing up and helping each other and stepping out of their comfortable place to help the other.

I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read Brants book.

REVIEW - Alpha Betrayed by Bella Jacobs

The Book
Release Date: 16 March 2023

FORD: Justice. Revenge. The pain, blood, and tears of the stepsister who sold me into slavery and stole the Alpha Throne that was rightfully mine.

For years, these were the only things that kept me sane.

And then I escape the Blood Pit Fight syndicate and track down the woman I’ve lived to destroy only to find she’s been a captive, too, and everything I was told was a lie…

JULIET: I’ve just been saved from the Circus of the Strange by the stepbrother who sold me into slavery in the first place.

Ford swears he didn’t betray me and that the only way to reclaim what we’ve lost is to seek refuge at a top-secret university for rejected shifters. There, he says, we’ll grow strong, plan our revenge, and prepare to destroy my father.

But is Ford the hero in this story or the villain?

And what’s my stepbrother going to do when he realizes I would rather die a virgin than be his good little wolf?

Alpha Betrayed is the first in a scorching hot dark romance series and is not for the faint of heart. It ends in a cliffhanger.

Juliet was sold into the circus by her father, but was always told it was because of her stepbrother, when her stepbrother turns up to find her, as he too was sold, both of their plans change and Ford wants revenge on her father and his step father.

Both have spent the last two years just trying to survive the hell that they have been subjected too and find it hard to trust the other.

Both are being hunted, but when they finally get near to the University that Ford id suggesting may give them sanctuary there is a big shock for Juliet.

I really liked this book and cannot wait ti see what happens next, especially as we ended up with a cliff hangar.

Maxim proved he would give his life to defend mine.

I proved I would kill to keep him by my side.

But is the bloody devotion of a united king and queen enough to win this war?

My fated mate and I are finally fighting on the same side, but our enemies have burrowed deeper into our pack than we ever imagined possible. Before we face my mad sister and her army, we’ll first have to free the minds of our own people.

Meanwhile, Maxim’s sister is still in enemy hands and black magic rises with the full moon.

Can we save the people we love and heal the shifter world before it’s too late?

Or will we lose everything we hold dear—our hope, our freedom, and maybe even…each other.

My Review     5 STARS

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the last instalment of the series and we finally find out what happens between the two pairs of mates and high pair come out on top.

Both side have people pushing them in a direction, but who is the pair that is the good fit for queen and ruler of the shifters and wolves?

Maxim finally proves that he wants what is best for his mate and will put her first if need be, Bane proves he is still a nasty piece of work, especially as he beats up his own mate.

Diana also is in trouble but finds an ally to help her, with un unexpected consequence.

I really liked the world building and the the connection of each of the characters.  The fight was over before it really started, but the book closed up most of the gaps, just leaving us with a taster of what may yet come from the author.
