First love. Second chance?
As the daughter of a hoarder, Phoenix Fuller had a tough childhood. So when the handsome, popular Riley Stinson became her boyfriend in high school, she finally felt as though she had something to be proud of. Phoenix was desperate not to lose him especially once she found out she was pregnant. Yes, she might have acted a bit obsessive when he broke up with her. But she did not run down the girl he started dating next.
Unfortunately, there was no way to prove her innocence. Now, after serving her time in prison, Phoenix has been released. All she wants to do is return to Whiskey Creek and get to know her son. But Jacob's father isn't exactly welcoming.
Riley doesn't trust Phoenix, doesn't want her in Jacob's life. He is, however, ready to find someone to love. And he wants a good mother for his son. He has no idea that he's about to find both!

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Brenda has created another masterpiece with the latest in the Whiskey Creek series, and I could not be happier that I got the chance to read the latest update in the lives of some of my favourite characters.

Phoenix has been through such a big ordeal and she shows true resilience, strength and character through the entire story.  You can't help but fall in love with her and be so utterly glad that she gets the happy ever after that she deserves.

Most of the way through the book I did find myself wanting to give Phoenix a hug, wanting desperately to tell her that everything would be ok in the end.

Riley we have seen through the series and he has wonderful friends and is yet another strong character.  The way he copes with a startling revelation and how he treats Phoenix shows him in great stead, especially as he stands by her when not many others do.

I loved how we see him as both a father, in which he gives sound advice and knows that he needs to treat Jacob as a man instead of a child, and the man who has to question what he believes once Phoenix returns.

As always I look forward with great anticipation to the next book in the series and to how our friend Kyle will finally get the Happy Ever After that he so greatly deserves.
