Goodreads Link

Three sexy dragon shifters. Princes trapped by a terrible curse. One woman sent to free them. A steamy reverse harem fantasy romance that will have you reading past your bedtime!
Seela knows there’s little chance she’ll be picked in the yearly Selection. As a fatherless village girl and apprentice healer, her name won’t be the one on the emissary’s lips.
Still, she can’t help but feel nervous. The women who are selected are never returned. No one knows what happens to them.
But on Selection day, Seela’s name is called. Taken away under guard, she finds herself shoved into a carriage, torn from her home. Worse, she’s thrown into a dark cave and sealed in. Then she hears skittering. Something horrible is coming.
To her surprise, she is rescued by the last thing she’s expecting--a dragon who can shift into a man. A prince to be exact. There are three very handsome, very sexy princes who all need Seela’s magic.
There’s only one problem. She doesn’t have any.
Seela learns of dark magic. And the princes who suffer from it. They think she is someone who can break the curse keeping these shifters bound. As she finds herself drawing closer to these men, time is ticking. Can they unlock the curse before it’s too late?

This is a new to me author and i am glad that i gave this book a chance.

The book was finished very quickly, however a lot happened and the book ends with so much more to happen, letting us know that book two will be just as good as the first.

I loved the idea for this story and have been reading more of the reverse harem trope of late, Seela was a strong character and helped the men that had taken her in as soon as was required even when they were trying to protect her.

I look forward to seeing what comes next for the Dragon shifter and for Seela.

REVIEW - Shimmy Bang Sparkle by Nicola Rendell

The Book

To catch a thief…or fall for one?
All Nick Norton wants is to stay on the straight and narrow…and never get caught stealing again. Then he lays eyes on her: Stella Peretti—100 percent sexy and absolutely irresistible. Especially when he sees her smooth moves lifting a two-karat diamond. Nick realizes he’s found the sparkling woman of his dreams—one so perfect for him it’s almost criminal.
The Shimmy Shimmy Bangs are master jewel thieves who are planning the heist of the century. And Shimmy leader, Stella, isn’t about to let anyone—even if he is a hunky, tatted-up studmuffin—get in her way. But when two of her girls are put out of commission, Stella realizes that Nick isn’t just a red-hot distraction. He might be the answer to her pilfering prayers.
Now, Nick and Stella are putting everything on the line for one last job. But when two thieves have this much chemistry, it’s only a matter of time before somebody’s heart gets stolen.
My Review  5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This was a really great read.  First of all our characters are on the slightly more mature age as Nick is 40 and Stella is in her thirties, however the chemistry between the two was off the charts andNick was honest with Stella about his past as soon as he can, which for his past cannot have been easy.

Both characters find themselves drawn closer and closer together, however it is only after an accident with Stella's two best friends that things with Nick and Stella take on another role as co-conspiriters for the last heist that they plan for their lives.  A job that will set them up for life.

There is angst near the end, sacrifice and best friends who stick together and help out when needed.

Really loved that all the character got what they wanted in the end.

REVIEW - Unleashed by Bella Jacobs

The Book
Release Date: 17 August 2018

One woman on the run. Four dangerously sexy bodyguards. And a war brewing that will change the shifter world forever…

I’m living on borrowed time, fighting for survival against a deadly new virus that has no cure and a cult doing its best to brainwash me. But when a mysterious note shows up on my windowsill one night, its chilling message--Run, Wren--launches me out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Within hours, everything I thought I knew about my life, my family, and my origins is obliterated, and I'm racking up enemies at an alarming rate. Between the cult I've just escaped, a violent shifter faction out for my blood, and an ancient evil who eats "chosen ones" like me for breakfast, my last hope is to join forces with four dangerous-looking men who claim they were sent to guard my life.

Luke, a werewolf with a rap sheet. Creedence, a lynx shifter who never met a mark he couldn’t con. Kite, a bear kin with a mean right hook and heart of gold. And Dust, my childhood best friend and dude voted least likely to be a secret shape-shifting griffin.

But are these men really what they seem?

Or are my alpha guardians hiding a secret agenda of their own?

I’m not sure, but one thing is for certain—choosing the right allies will mean the difference between life and death. For me, and everyone I love.

UNLEASHED is book one in the Dark Moon Shifter’s series. It is a true reverse harem featuring one woman and her four mates.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Well this book was just one of those books that i just could not put down.   Holy moly this was a good book.

The book packs quite a lot into the pages and gives you not only a paranormal world, but a dystopian world along with a reverse harem trope.

The main character is Wren, a woman who has had a virus for years and has been slowly dying, but then just before an important doctors appointment she is kidnapped and life as she knows it is changed forever.

We have a man called Kite  who is the man she is crushing on, Dust a man from her past, Creedence a big softie and scary guy Luke.  The four men must protect Wren, help her win a war and be her mates.

I so enjoyed this book and really CANNOT wait until the next book comes out.  I so want to see what happens next.....

My Review  3 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book is packed full of angst miscommunication and family drama.

There is one part near the end that brought me to tears but on the whole it's a book where two people got together with lots of baggage, married within three months and did not talk about their pasts or believe that they were worthy of each other.

There is a sensitive subject written within the story, but it is handled well and the baggage the two hold finally comes out and the chasm that has been between the two of them can be breached and the walls crumbled.

A sweet read of reconciliation and a coming to terms of two peoples pasts.

REVIEW - The Vampire's Mail Order Bride (Nocturne Falls #1) by Kristen Painter

The Book
Release Date: 1 June 2015
Goodreads Link

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town where Halloween is celebrated 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesn’t know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-year-old vampire.

Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the arranged set up to make his overbearing grandmother happy. In thirty days, whatever bridezilla shows up at his door will be escorted right back out. His past means love is no longer an option. Not if the woman’s going to have a future. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.

Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets...

My Review  4 STARS
This is a new to me author that was recommended to me by Amazon and i am glad that i took up the chance to check this author out.

The writing was brilliant, funny and really puled me into the story.  I read this book cover to cover in less than a day as i just needed to know what was going to happen next and i was really rooting for Delaney and Hugh to get together and i just knew that Delaney was good for Hugh.

I can really see myself getting the rest of the books in the series and seeing what else this author has written.

My Review  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Thanks to the previous book ending in a cliff hanger, this book does not disappoint and takes you on so many twists and turns that this mindfuck of a book turns things you think are going to happen into something else.

There is also an extra little tidbit of a tale at the back in regards to Wilma, and a possible spin off series that may come after.

LOVED this book and it certainly really gripped me as i finished this book in just.one.day.  It started at a run and went full pelt until the end and i was left there thinking, OMG, this books was awesome.

Certainly a series i would really recommend.

Yet here she is, watching her car literally go up in smoke—along with her last-ditch hope of staying with her cousin in Louisiana. She’s making friends and even discovering the sweetness of falling in love. But when the town is threatened, Jancy knows it will take more than its legendary tarts to save it. Can she fight for this little Texas town—knowing she might not stay forever?
My Review  4 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I really enjoyed this book and it follows characters in Pick, Texas when a woman who lived in the town for years breaks down on her way to her cousin.

Jancy has not had an easy life, but the moment that she returns to Pick, her life takes a one-eighty.  She gets a good job, a place to live, friends and a family that take her into their lives and hearts.

The story does focuses on four women all at different stages in their lives.  Nettie the matriarch and Vicky the mum who co-own the diner along with Emily the daughter who moves back home and Jancy.

With a little mystery and a few plot twits along the way it was a satisfying story that leaves you feeling happy at the end.

REVIEW - Boy Toy (Man Hands #3) by Sarina Bowen

The Book
Release Date: 14 August 2018

A brand new romantic comedy from your favorite snort-laughing duo!

Liam

The moment Sadie Matthews walks through the daycare center door, I feel my world tilt in her direction. Again. I fell for her when I was fourteen, and I'm still not over her. Problem: she still thinks of me as a teen she used to babysit. But I've learned a few things about pleasing a woman in the last fifteen years. I can't wait to show her how good it could be. I need to move quickly before I lose her again. This is more than a game to me, but I still plan to win.

Sadie

I've just survived the worst year of my life. As a single mom of twin toddlers, I don't have time for a man. I barely have time to finish a thought. Who knew that Liam McAllister would grow up to be so devastating? He's everything my husband was not: tall, built, and willing to have a tea party with my girls.

I can't possibly get involved with him. He's too young for me. Too handsome. But he's so persuasive...

My Review  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the third book in a series and the authors have done it again.  They have delivered another book that you cannot help but get invested in.  i am a stay at home mum to twins so i can understand Sadie's struggle as a mum and how working and looking after them alone after a divorce can be hard.  It's bad enough even having my husband in the evenings and weekends, because i am still doing most of the work.

Liam has had a crush on Sadie since the summer she babysat for him and his siblings when he was 14 and Sadie was 20.

Liam is a lovely character and i loved that he worked with kids and wanted to know more about kids and whilst working in the day care helped the kids around him, especially Sadie's twin girls Kate and Amy.  I loved how he always thought about them and their needs before his own and helped Sadie get back to her former self that Decker had managed to squash.

All the previous characters are in this book.  Brynn and Tom are expecting a baby and Ash and Braht are still adorable together.

Loved how Liam acted mature beyond his age and stood up to his father and was what he wanted to be and the whole dynamic between Liam and Sadie.

The chemistry eats up the pages and before you know it you have finished the book with a great big smile on your face.

I really hope that this series continues, even though all three friends now have their Happy Ever After.

REVIEW - Delicious Temptation (Delicious Desires #1) by Sabrina Sol

The Book
Release Date: 16 May 2015

Amara Maria Robles is a good girl. So good that she gave up her dreams of becoming a renowned pastry chef to help her parents with their struggling Mexican bakery. Yet her parents reject any changes she suggests, and refuse to sell her mouth-watering confections. Clearly being a good girl isn't paying off. So when her brother's sexy ex-best friend walks into the bakery, Amara's tempted to be very bad indeed...

After a scandal twelve years ago, resident bad boy Eric Valencia has returned to make things right with his family and friends. One glance at Amara and her wicked curves, however, and Eric finds himself thinking about how she’d feel beneath him—something he promised Amara's brother he would never think about, let alone do.

But this bad boy is in deep trouble...because Amara's determined to have her cake, and Eric, too.

My Review  3 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing LLC, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the first time that i have read this author and she has a good writing style, the story was good, but nothing exciting.

Amara lives at home with her parents after being called back to help her parents failing bakery, not that they are letting her make changes to save it though.  Eric is a former bad boy with a reputation who is trying to change his life around.

Both hold things back from the other making the relationship stall a bit before they can have their HEA, and Amara's family certainly don't help.  Both characters could have been more proactive if they were not stuck in the past.

REVIEW - Siren by Jo-Anne Joseph

The Book
Release Date: 27 November 2017
Goodreads Link

Blurb:
Nothing in life is ever monochrome.
I discovered that a long time ago,
And with all such lessons,
I learned it the hard way.

Dark cannot exist without light.
Night can’t occur without day.
Despair can’t flourish without hope.
I couldn’t live without her,
She can’t survive without me.

She was meant to be my protector.
It was us against the world.
Allies. Partners.
Instead, she became my worst fear.

I allowed that despair to grow and fester.
I let it mar me, then, almost destroy me.
I realized something had to give.

This time, there is no turning back.
When the siren calls to you,
You unwillingly answer.

Question is… Would I survive the fall?

My Review  4 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book may have a lot of triggers for some people and i really was not sure on whether i would this book when i first started it.

However i am really glad that i stuck with this book even if some of the stuff is harrowing and could make some people uncomfortable.

Sage has had a bum deal in life and there are so many twists and turns it is only towards the end that i got a grip as to what had happened to Sage and even right up close we were still getting answers to the plot.

Jacob was a good added love interest, and it was nice for Sage to get a happy ending.  May will be thinking about this book long after i have read it.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing LLC, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This was a sweet story that started with Alex just going to check up on his former military buddy's wife Reagan a year or so after his death, only things with Reagan do not make sense and she is not a woman who is grieving for a man she loved.

Alex has survivors guilt and Reagan is keeping a secret from everyone that knew him and suffering with looks and talk from the people around her.

After all the emotions and truths come out after both characters feeling sorry for themselves and hurting each other it would have been nice to have an epilogue after all the dust had settled.

REVIEW - Reckless Together (Reckless #3) by Gina Robinson

The Book
Release Date: 25 March 2014
Goodreads Link

Book Three of the Reckless Series A Contemporary New Adult College Romance
The stunning conclusion of Ellie and Logan's love story that began on a hot August night in Reckless Longing and continued through the depths of winter in Reckless Secrets...
Ellie
My mother is a liar, a seductress, a keeper of family secrets, and a master manipulator. She took Austin from me. Now she claims she wants forgiveness. But she's after Logan. I know she is. He thinks he can protect me from her. I love him for trying, for playing hero, but he doesn't know her like I do. She'll charm him until he lets his guard down and then she'll strike so quickly he'll never see the attack coming. I may already be too late to stop it.
Logan's love is essential to me, like sunshine and deep nurturing breaths. He's my all. I can't live without him. But there's so much standing in the way of our happiness. As dangerous as she is, Mom is the least of my worries. I'm fighting the darkness Logan is struggling with, the upcoming trial, his family, and sometimes I even think I'm fighting a phantom of myself. But I won't give up. Ever.
Logan
I wish I could make El understand how much I love her, but I'm losing control. She makes me lose control. Since the abuse, that scares me shitless and brings back the guilt and the memories I want to erase. Things that have nothing to do with El, and everything because they affect the man I want to be for her.
I can't face losing her. I don't want her to hear the ugly truth about me, but I have to testify. I have to, even though I'm risking everything and fighting my dad and myself to do it. After it's over, will El still love me? I have to help her reconcile with her mom. Then maybe she'll understand.
This is a contemporary romance with mature themes, language, and situations. Readers should be over 17!
My Review  4 STARS
This is the third book in the series and cannot be read as a stand alone book.

This book also follows directly on from the previous book and the final questions get answered and we get a happy ending alone with a sense of peace.

In this book we get more secrets along with Logans trial and we finally meet Ellie's mother Melissa and find out more about why she is like she is.  I actually grew to like her mother, especially the way she looked after Ellie and Logan and helped out where she needed too.

I liked that we had Logan's point of view in this book too, i just felt that it was written wrong.   Where Ellie's point of view is in the first person, Logan's point of view was in the third person, and it just did not work that way.

I would have loved the book to have anded with an epilogue to find out how the dynamic of everything would have panned out 6 months later when everything had settled down, but otherwise this book was better than the other books.

Book Two of the Reckless Series
A New Adult College Romance

The engaging continuation of Ellie and Logan's love story that began on a hot August night in Reckless Longing...

Ellie

My bitch of a mother kept a family secret from me for nineteen years. I outsmarted her and found out what it is. Now I should be deliriously happy. I am happy. Except…I have to keep it from Logan. At the same time, I know I should tell him. If he finds out by accident, he'll hate me and feel betrayed. But it's complicated and I have to wait until things fall into place or it will cause problems for my newly found dad.

And Logan is wrestling with his own demons. Because of me. Dex and I just meant to prank our hideous chem prof. We didn't mean to hurt anyone, least of all Logan. If I'd known it would expose his secret, I never would have done it. I love him so much. I can't lose him. I won't. I just hope he can forgive me.

This is the second book in the series and cannot be read as a stand a lone book.

This book continues to follow Ellie and Logan and starts where book one finished, however as the title suggests there are more secrets to come out and lots more angst to follow.

Ellie has her main secret, the fact that Jason Front is her father, along with the fact that her Study TA is hitting on her in a stalkerish way.  Again it is her friend Sex that helps her out with her TA in quite an amusing fashion, her really is a good friend.

Logan proves he has a bit of a temper in this book and Ellie finally gets to start to get to know her father and vice verser, however when the new comes out people are hurt and it causes a bit of a rift.  Ellie also get to meet Logans family and feels a bit out of place at his house, and they are often thwarted by his mum when they have a few moments alone.

By the end of the book we have some questions answered and some things resolved, however book three will continue their story and we are left with a little bit of a cliff hanger so we know the next problem is going to revolve around Ellie's mum.
