REVIEW - The Taming of the Bachelor (Taming of the Sheenans #4) by Jane Porter

The Book
Release Date: 4 June 2015
Goodreads Link

Dillon Sheenan refuses to be tamed…

After three years running the family ranch, sexy thirty-year-old Dillon Sheenan has a one way plane ticket out of Montana. He’s eager to put small town life, with its emphasis on brides, babies, and families, behind him as he’s certainly not interested in being a dad, or even ready to settle down.

Beautiful single mom, Paige Joffe, juggles a lot, between running Main Street Diner and coping with her money-pit of a Victorian on Bramble Lane. She doesn’t have time for anything but taking care of the loves of her life, Addison and Tyler, and working to pay down bills. But one date–and an incredibly hot kiss–with Dillon Sheenan wakes her up and makes her dream again.

Until she finds out Dillon’s already bought his ticket out of town…

Is Dillon about to break the heart of the only woman he’s ever loved?

My Review  2.5 STARS
**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule publishing for an honest review**

This is an older woman younger guy trope, but it just felt far too rushed.  Even the ending was so rushed it just didn't sit right with me and the book struggled to keep me gripped.

The way that Dillon was a man whore, but yet insisted on sitting with Paige to TALK about things grated on me insisting that he could never change when we read his internal thoughts about her being different and someone he could see could be the one. who made him change everything.

Paige fell in love after and and a half almost dates.  She is a grown mona of 38 with two kids and a dead husband who was hardly there anyway.  She did not act as much of the adult as i would have thought.

After the rest of the books for Marietta i am a little sad that this last one was like this and the ending was really rushed and just felt like the author realised that she needed to finish and it all happened in the last chapter/epilogue.

Will not be reading from this author again in a hurry.

REVIEW - Pursued by the Devil (International Bad Boys #8) by Carole Mortimer

The Book
Release Date: 27 August 2015
Goodreads Link

Mikhail Lysenko, a tall, dark, and deadly corporate shark, is buying up ailing companies during the financial crisis worldwide, cherry-picking the best parts, and disposing of the dead wood.

Lindsay Carlisle is a sexy, long-legged, ruthless lawyer whose client is determined to hold out against a Lysenko take-over.

And when Mikhail’s laser business focus hones in on Lindsay and becomes personal, very personal, she doesn't know whether his interest is genuine or a means of undermining her client's case. Regardless, there's no way she’s going to be added to the list of women who’ve jumped into the sexy millionaire’s bed. Trying to resist Mikhail and keep work her priority is more than enough to deal with, but then someone begins anonymously sending Lindsay roses… black roses. As a love token? Or something more sinister? She may have to run into Mikail’s arms and allow him to save her from her secret admirer...

My Review  2 STARS
**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule publishing for an honest review**

This was a very fast paced novella that read quick, however the story just seemed too fast for me.

Lindsay is a lawyer who has her interests compromised by Mikhail, especially as he decides once he has seen her that she just has to be his.  The bear inside of him just claims her, there is just something about Lindsay that is different enough to catch his interest.

Mikhail is a very successful business man, a man who has dragged himself up the hard way, but he is also related to the Russian Mafia, not that he has anything to do with them.

With something weird happening around Lindsay's apartment, Mikhail's protective instincts rise and he protects her how he can, especially when things go south for Lindsay suddenly.

Although the ending was nice and wrapped up the story, it just did not sit right with me within the time frame.

A decent enough read otherwise though.

REVIEW - Dr. Mitchell (Billionaires' Club Book 1) by Raylin Marks

The Book
Release Date: 27 July 2020
Goodreads Link

Billionaires like him have a type. And it’s not me…

I’m not the kind of girl who has one-night stands.

Except…I did.

What can I say? After a few drinks with a gorgeous man who made me feel alive for the first time since losing my mom, I was powerless to say no.

And I didn’t regret it. Not one minute of our hot, mind-melting night together.

But he wasn’t a forever kind of guy. So I walked away. I wasn’t supposed to ever see him again.

Then I did.

Turns out my sexy one-night stand is Dr. Jacob Mitchell—and he’s the cardiothoracic surgeon who just saved my dad’s life.

The shocking part?

He never forgot about me or a single minute of our night together.

And he wants more.

Actually, he wants it all.

But I’m no fool. And just because he handles hearts every day doesn’t mean I’m going to give him mine.

Not without a fight, anyway …

Dr. Mitchell is a spicy contemporary romance featuring an alpha billionaire/reformed player, and the feisty free spirit who steals his heart. Sexy times are definitely included, and a happily ever after is guaranteed. Download today!

**My thanks to the author and Hidden Gems for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the first time that i have read this author and it certainly shall not be the last.  The writing and the story are brilliant and the characters are well rounded and you cannot help but fall in love with them all.

Dr Jacob Mitchell is a heart surgeon and is at the top of his game and one of the youngest top surgeons.   It is a chance meeting that leads to him meeting Ashland having a connection.  The morning after, they find themselves at the same wedding and Jake wants more of her and they end up having a one night stand.

A year later and not having forgotten Ash, Jake finds her again when he needs to operate on her father.  Jake pursues the woman that her wants with a strong mind that this is the woman that he wants to change his ways, but life and other things get in the way to try and get in the way.

Both are really strong characters and try hard with their relationship.  I really loved the story and the supporting characters and cannot wait until book two comes out and Jakes brother James (Jim) gets his story and happy ever after which the stressed tired man really does deserve.

I will certainly be reading more from this author.

REVIEW - Forget Me Not (Loveless & Dunn #3) by Erika Mark

The book
Release Date: 19 May 2015

When aspiring-writer Mallory Reynolds packed up for New York City, she ditched more than her quiet hometown of Magnolia Bay—she left her high-school sweetheart, Josh Loveless, behind. But when the big city didn’t deliver big contracts on her novels, she turned to writing erotica under the pen name Farrah Ivory to spare her family any embarrassment. Soon, her scandalously-sexy series, The Lost Diaries of Scarlet, is a break-out hit. Just as Mallory begins to enjoy her sweet success, her publisher leaks her true identity and a media firestorm ensues. Exposed, she decides there’s nowhere to hide—except for home.

For Josh Loveless, getting over Mallory Reynolds hasn’t been easy, but he’s done his best to move on. For starters, he’s turned his love of the outdoors and rock-climbing into his own business. And just as things are starting to settle for him, he learns Mallory’s coming home to ride out her scandal, and suddenly his world is turned upside down again…

Can Mallory convince her friends and family that she’s still the same good-hearted girl they knew? And more importantly, can Josh trust the woman she’s become, and give her a second chance to rewrite their love story with a happy ending?

My Review  3.5 STARS
**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule publishing for an honest review**

This is a new to me author and the writing was good. The story is told from both Mallory and Josh's points of view and we see how they both got hurt when Mallory left five years ago and Josh did not fight for her. We also see how they very much still love each other as Mallory comes home for a short visit, only to bump into each other again and stir up old feelings.

With Mallory only going home to hide as her true name has come out as a writer from her pen name, as a erotic author, Mallory finds it hard especially with small town gossips. But she has more advocates than she expects.

Being a novella everything happens fairly quickly, but this would have been better i feel as a full length novel.

Still a decent read.

**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule publishing for an honest review**

Piper comes home on the day she gets an email from her parents about a traveller staying in their house for a wedding in Marietta, only to find him on their doorstep already.

There is instant attraction between the pair and even Pipers birth mark on her face is forgotten about.  It is only after being with Bastian does Piper realise that maybe she has been blind to anyone's attraction to her in the past.  But 2 weeks of fun between the sheets ends up taking a different turn when Bastian has to go home and both find themselves hurt.

A chance trip to LA to visit a find has Bastian running to the hotel to see her where both finally end up admitting that they both still want more from each other and that maybe forever after is not a bad thing.

We get a decent ending and epilogue a little down the line where the couple is happy and living in Marietta with their families.

**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule publishing for an honest review**

This book happens along the same time frame as the book in where his sister Kaitlyn and Beckett get together and have their own problems.  It is when he finally notices that his best friend Melanie is more than just a girl, she's a woman, a woman who he wants to protect.

Melanie has always had a crush on her best friend and after seduction at his sisters wedding does not go to plan, she decides that she needs to shake her life up if she is to finally get rid of her virginity.  She puts on a skimpy dress and has a few drinks at a pub in order to pick up a man and get it over with. Until that is Luke walks in, see her and acts like a caveman.

Luke does not think well of himself and does not see that he needs to change the way he thinks or it will always be him against the world and having the feeling that he has to fix things for everyone else.  Melanie finally cracks into his thick skull what he is doing and missing out on, which hurts both of them.

Another good story based in Marietta, Montana.

RELEASE DATE - INKED (KILL DEVIL INK) by Sarah Darlington

The Book
Release Date: 13 July 2020
Goodreads Link

It all starts with a one-night stand...

NICK

It was only supposed to be a little ink. A parting gift to myself from myself. Because when your girlfriend dumps you for a famous rockstar, you leave. You move on. You get the hell out of town and forget all about her. But I never counted on Amanda. Or the night we shared. Or the mark she left when she put her ink on my skin.

I have to go back. For her.

AMANDA

There are three things I know about Nick: he’s cocky, he’s amazing in bed, and he’s the father of my unborn baby. When he walked into the shop, smelling like heaven, wanting his first tattoo, I should have refused his business. Because I knew the moment I set eyes on him, I didn’t stand a chance. Still, I fell down the rabbit-hole with him.

Now he’s back in town. With no clue I’m pregnant. When I’m forced to tell him, I tell him it isn’t his. Because he left once, he could easily leave again. And guys like Nick, they don’t stick around for girls like me.

My Review  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

O.M.G. I can't believe how i fell in love with Nick.  A man who you would think from the outsiders it all, a rich family, a good education and charisma, however the poor guy has a secret.  He has panic attacks and try so hard to fit in and be the perfect guy for everyone.

Most of the book seemed to be about Nick and his emotions, then the plot line of him and the connection to Amanda and how for the first time he feels more than anything and that she helps to ground him.

We get to see very little of Emma and Caleb Mills and we get to see a little of John who ends up marrying Dani Mills from Sunset Revival, we also get to meet Finn from the tattoo parlour and Nicks friend Lou.  Finn and Lou are going to get their book next.

Its certainly a book to read and if you have read one of the authors most recent books you will have met these characters before and therefore got a feel of them previously.

Certainly a book to read and like me this book will be read fast.

REVIEW - Bride by Mistake (Montana Born Brides #3) by Nicole Helm

The Book
Release Date: 18 May 2015
Goodreads Link

Wedding fever has hit the little town of Marietta…

And Kaitlin Shuller’s groom of her dreams is marrying someone else… her sister.

Worst day ever. Her heart is broken, and all her carefully laid plans destroyed. Enter Beckett Larson, her older brother’s best friend and a very good bad decision.

Beckett has spent his life trying to outrun his bad reputation, but everyone already thinks the worst of him, so when Kaitlin offers herself to him — virginity and all— he just can’t say no.

But one night together has permanent consequences, and this time Beckett knows he can’t outrun his bad boy reputation. He’s determined to make Kaitlin his bride… even if he has to seduce her down the aisle.

My Review  4 STARS
**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule publishing for an honest review**

I enjoyed this novella more than the other books from them i have read so far recently.  I mean Beckett is an awesome character.  He's a little bit bad boy, but behind closed doors, he really is a lovely person, especially when you see through his shield and the stigma that goes along with him.  He may make a few bad choices in life, but he certainly knows how to step up to the plate when it really matters.

Kaitlin does seem a little to rigid and i can see that having Beckett around will certainly help to loosen her up, stop planning all the time and just be herself.  Beckett makes her step up to her feelings and become better, just like she does to him.

Both characters seem to overcome a lot in this book and it was nice that it was Beckett he was more sure of things and helped Kaitlin see a better path for her life.

This is a good read that even had me shelling a tear or two.

Bid on a date with this wounded warrior for an unforgettable night of adventure. Aim high—and bid higher!—because no one comes close to local hero Gabriel Morales.

Molly Dekker hates being the town charity case, but when her son Josh is seriously injured she has no choice. But one look, one touch and one night unlocking Molly’s pent-up passion makes him realize how badly he needs to be rescued…and how badly he wants to rescue Molly right back.

Will Molly and Gabriel’s never-quit attitude have them rushing head-first into love? Or will Gabriel’s secret pain stall their relationship before it can get off the ground?

My Review  3 STARS
**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule publishing for an honest review**

I do feel that this book should have been published as the first in the series as it is Josh's accident that is the catalyst for everything that happened with the Bachelor auction, so it would have been nice to read about that first.

Gabriel has been hiding a secret from everyone and has hidden himself alone in a cabin in the woods a two hour walk away for the nearest place a car can get too.  Quite daft really when you realise how injured the guy is.

Molly is a strong woman, but after a young marriage and subsequent divorce and her brothers death she is lovely and at 29 feels that she needs some male company and having had a crush on Gabriel when she was younger thinks that she is the man to help her have orgasms.  It is the night she propositions him that her world changes again with her sons accident.

Gabriel helps how he can, doing things in the background and being the hero that rescues Mollys son, but has not let his demons rest.

It is the determination of Molly to see things through with Gabriel that has them talking and eventually him showing her the extent of his injuries and them sorting themselves for a happiness that they both deserve.

My Review  5 STARS
**Copy Provided by Netgalley and St Martin's Press for an honest review**

When i requested this book i stupidly did not realise that this is book 17 in a series.  Although this CAN be read as a stand alone story, i do believe that i would have understood the plot as a whole better if i had read the previous books.  That being said things were well explained and i could certainly follow what has been happening.

This is the first time that i have read this author and i am currently kicking myself, therefore i shall have to make time to read the full series at some point after having bought the collection of books before this lol.  I don't want to have to wait for each book.

In this book we have Noreen a Dark Fae and Cain a Dragon King. Noreen is trying to escape the evil Moreann and has hatched plan into helping the Dragon Kings and helping them win the war, it is receiving the email that Cain is asked to discover more about Noreen, however what he finds is his mate and a woman he vows to protect.  But is is all as it seems?

There are a few good twists and turns that i did not see coming and i was really drawn into the story so much that i read the book in only one day.  I really loved the world building and all of the characters and have found them intriguing.  This will certainly be a series that i will want to complete.

I look forward to reading more from this author.

REVIEW - The Wedding (Cruise Control, #2) by Sian Ceinwen

The Book
Release Date: 6 June 2020
Goodreads Link

Marrying a rock star. It's harder than you think.

Heather York's life was a complete breeze. Sure, she was working herself to the bone on her recently launched fashion line, Serenity, in preparation for its debut at New York Fashion Week.

Yes, her boyfriend, Harrison Fletcher, did happen to be one of the world's most famous rock stars. Oh, and he had also just proposed which meant that she had a star-studded celebrity wedding to plan now.

Did she mention that her ex-best friend, Ariana Chamberlain, had just walked back into their lives after cutting them all off completely two years ago?

No, her life wasn't complicated at all.

The Wedding is the follow-up to Sian Ceinwen's debut novel, The Album. Dive back into the world of Cruise Control, as they navigate the tricky path of life in the spotlight as the world's most famous rock band.

My Review  4 STARS
After having read book one of this series, i very much found that i needed to read book two and have also managed to read this book within a day.

The book follows the couple that have been together for ten years and are very much still in love.  However true love never runs smooth and a doozy is presented to them which tests their love, loyalty to each other and their trust.  Yes there is a very rocky path, where Heather struggles to overcome the hurt that has shaken her completely after Harrison and the band have been targeted for exploitation.

We see how Heather reacts to Ariana being back in their lives and how badly she reacts and refuses to talk to her and Harrison trying to get her to be nice.

We see Heather finally making more friends and more of the silly platonic love that she and Sebastian share and of course the way that Heather and Ariana finally get to be best friends again.

I am really looking forward to reading Haydon and Ally's story along with Sebastian as it will certainly take something for the very caring man, that hides behind a visage to finally change his womanising ways.

My Review  4 STARS
**My thanks to the author and Hidden Gems for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a totally new to me author and this is her debut book.  It did take me a couple of chapters to get into her writing style, but once i did i was unable to put the book down.

The book is from Ariana's point of view and follows her on her journey as she first meets Gabriel at a charity event until they finally get their happy ever after.

Ariana is basically a little jaded with having a famous uncle, and therefore does not like the limelight.  The main thing that breaks them up is her insecurity within her self and not wanting to tell the world that she is with an awesome guy.

Gabriel is a wonderful character and puts up with a lot from Ariana and constantly helping her feel secure, but it does come at a price.

Being a musician, once we get the breakup, Gabriel channels his upset into an Album and Ariana acts like a cild and cuts everyone from her time with Gabe out of her life to start her life anew.

After a few years we get a chance meeting and the spark is still there.  Glad that Ariana has grown up enough and with the help of therapy to go through things this time with her head screwed on properly.

I really enjoyed this book, but i did get a little upset with Ariana and her actions sometimes, but without them the book would not have been as good.

I certainly recommend that you try this author out.
