But on her wedding day, her fiancé leaves her high and dry. Never in his wildest dreams would Ben Taggart have imagined he’d be escorting Jessica on her honeymoon to Bermuda. Although they haven’t seen each other in years, he can’t leave her to fall apart. Agreeing to keep things platonic, they vow to make the most of their spontaneous vacation—until an unplanned kiss sparks a powerful passion.
They tell themselves that what happens in Bermuda will stay in Bermuda. But when old secrets are revealed and new feelings ignite, will Ben and Jessica be able to leave their romance behind?
My Review 3 STARS**My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
This was a cute read, it followed the vein of kinda ex best friends getting together after Jessica's wedding falls through and Ben persuades her to still go on her honeymoon. However she will only go if he goes with her.
Jessica reinvented herself after something happened in her childhood leaving Ben behind with it and not giving him any reason as to why she would no longer talk to him.
On the honeymoon both characters reconnect and Ben does his best to help Jessica find the true her again getting her to try things she otherwise would not do, however the chemistry between them from the beginning starts to burn up the sheets, but Ben is a true gentleman.
The only thing that annoyed me was both of them keeping their true feelings kinda hidden, so when they could have been happier earlier, both of them had to wait a couple of months to realise that they actually wanted each other enough to make a move.
The story is a little slow, but overall it was a very enjoyable read.
