The line between enemy and ally, between frustration and desire, between hate and love, gets blurrier as these two strong-willed people meet their match for the first time.
He’s used to getting his way…
This new project will get the company back on its feet. Or it would, if archaeologist Freya Carmichael hadn’t put her nose where it didn’t belong. Now he can’t log or develop his own land, until she’s done digging up some old pottery shards.
Well, he’s not going to take it lying down. He’s going to convince her to go dig somewhere else. Unfortunately, he can’t be around her for more than two minutes without getting into an argument.
She’s the archaeologist in his way….
This dig is going to be Freya’s greatest accomplishment, so she’s not going to let anything stand in her way. Not petty pranks or mean comments or threatening phone calls.
Her biggest obstacle is Augustus. He’s the most infuriating man she’s ever met. He knows exactly what buttons to push to make her temper flare.
But as she gets to know him, she sees there’s so much more to the man than she thought. Beneath the rough exterior is an exceptional and fascinating man. And he knows how to push her buttons to make more than just her temper flare.
But can she really trust a man who has made it clear he wants nothing more than for her to stop digging and leave? When someone determined to put an end to her dig goes too far, endangering her, she doesn’t have much choice but to trust him.
Can these two enemies find common ground or—possibly—even the love story neither of them thought they'd find?

My Review  4 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Another instalment in the Magnolia Valley series that does not disappoint.  I have been looking forward to Augustus's story for a while.  He certainly is the strong silent type, especially is he is doing something nice that people just do not expect from him, and he does not defend himself from others.

Freya and Augustus have butted heads in previous books, now however after agreeing to a truce to see what each other do for their jobs, they find a mutual respect for each other along with feelings they did not expect.

Both find each other saying things they have told no other and they also stand up for each other to the surprise of friends.

Really enjoyed their story and how the previous characters got involved too and we saw more of their lives.  I look forward to seeing Margot and Simon in the next book.
