Silent Warrior (Dragon Kings 0.5) by Lindsey Piper

The Book
Release Date: 22 April 2013

An exciting, emotionally charged prequel to "The Dragon Kings" trilogy, featuring warriors fighting for their lives in violent Cage matches to guarantee their clans' survival.

A silent woman ashamed of her criminal background becomes a Cage warrior to seek redemption. An unrepentant fortune hunter chooses combat over death to appease a mafia family. Although rivals in battle, they find common ground when seeking their clan's stolen idol, but for vastly different reasons. Neither one suspects that love will begin when he becomes the first man in five years to hear her speak.

My Opinion  5 STARS

Wow. This book took off like a rocket and didn't let up until the end, where I promptly crashed and stumbled around a bit until I could get my thumbs working to bring up the next book in the series.

Silence is a caged warrior of the Sath Clan who has been on the run from her people for 5 years. Her real name has not been spoken in well over five years and nor has she talked to anyone until now.

Hark meets her in the ring in Hong Kong and chats continuously, he see's some of her strengths and looks for a weakness and fights her well. Both realise that they are the same, Dragon kings. Both lethal and deadly, fast and strong.

When their fight is brought to a stop, they end up having to fight to stay alive and form a bong in which there carnal emotions take over and they have sex in a motel as their adrenaline runs and their injuries heal. Silence talks to him, the first person she has talked to in five years and tells him her real name.

Other assailants find them as Hark has debts that are owed and Silence helps him escape and kill the ones after him. She takes him to another Dragon King she has captured and they used his skills to kill the ones chasing them, but Silence is injured.

After defeating them, Hark comes back to her where they share memories via telepathy and bond together where he proposes to her. When they get back to another motel they clean up, where again Hark asks her to bond with him. It doesn't take him long to get what he wants and they preform the ceremony and he agrees to be a caged fighter and to help her in her quest.

I am REALLY looking forward to reading the first fully book in this series.
