Wyatt Forrester is a soldier. One of the best. But when a mission went wrong, and he lost a close friend, he went home to clear his head.
His beautiful and meddlesome best friend Penny wants to help him remember who he was. She makes a list of every dumb thing they did that last summer after high school and they’re going to work their way through it.
But at the end of that long-ago summer, he asked her to be his, and she turned him down. This time, will they have a different ending?
Penny Edgecombe was a wild teenager, but that’s behind her. Her life is focused on raising her five-year-old son and running the Ferns and Friends gardening center.

Her mom would like her to find a boyfriend or—better yet—a husband, but Penny isn’t interested. Her parent’s marriage was terrible and she’s not going to repeat their mistakes. She keeps her relationships light and easy, never letting anyone get close.
The only man she’s ever let into her heart is Wyatt, and they’re only friends. But her list pushes their friendship into passionate territory and she has a hard time not dreaming of their relationship lasting longer.
Penny thought she was the one helping Wyatt, but maybe he will be the one to help her open her well-guarded heart.
They both have to confront the ghosts in their pasts. Then they have to decide if they’re brave enough for the greatest adventure of all—true love.
This is the fifth book in the MAGNOLIA VALLEY series. It can be read as a standalone or as part of a larger story line.

My Review  4 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is yet another brilliantly put together novel in the Magnolia Valley series, not that the books cannot be read as a stand alone read.

We have previously met Penny and Wyatt in previous books, however now we get to see their full character and what has made them the way that they are now.

Wyatt and Penny were best friends as children and got up to lots of mischief, however that all changes when Wyatt joined the military and Penny went out to focus on her music, they both stayed in touch and Wyatt visited when he could.

After coming out of the military this time though Wyatt has changed and Penny takes it upon herself to help Wyatt find himself again along with her son Bass.

We get to lots of previous characters and we get to meet some new ones too in Wyatt military friends Parker and Barry, who i hope we also see more of.

I really got into the story and was really invested with Penny and Wyatt and after a rocky patch i was so glad that they managed to sort themselves out and find the happiness with each other that they deserved.

I also loved that i could download a bonus epilogue from the author for their fifth wedding anniversary too see how they celebrated and how their family was coming along.
