This book has been on my kindle for a while so i finally managed to pick it up as i'm trying to get through all my oldest ARC's to be read.
This book links in with another of the authors series and we get to meet a few characters from that series.
Annie Foster is living on an island that only a small amount of people have visited within the last eighteen months that she has been living and hiding on. However, when Jessie Storm arrives, her world is turned into chaos.
Jessie has liked Annie from the moment that he first saw her. Annie had also liked Jessie, however, Jessie was hired to protect her and has mostly been behind the scenes.
Annie has a step brother that wants her dead in order for him to inherit a business that her father has built, but he wants it to hide his crimes. Tony Foster is a nasty piece of work and with her father suffering from dementia and in a home, things do not link good. It is Jessie Storm and a big relvlation that she was adopted, and finding out she has other brothers, that sets into motion something her father had somewhat already planned for.
the writing was ok, but the emotions of the characters was a little lack lustre and i struggled to connect with the characters and did not therefore feel for the story much.
