REVIEW - My Big Fat Bloodsucker Second Chance (The Wonderfully Witches of Nightfall New Hampshire Book 3) by Bella Jacobs

The Book
Release Date: October 2022
Goodreads Link

The one who got away—and star of all my dirtiest dreams—just asked me to marry him. Edmond is gorgeous, witty, looks incredible in a suit, and adores my little girl. The problem?
This marriage is as fake as a Vegas showgirl's D cup.

Edmond only proposed to protect my daughter from her deadbeat dad. He wants forever as much as I do, but he's been cursed by his evil ex to walk into the sunlight on New Year's Day, and is determined to hold me at a distance.

I know he's trying to protect me from grief, but every fake kiss to fool our families shatters my heart. I have to find a way to break this curse and make our pretend family the real thing.

Cue a crash course in truth potion making and a hunt for his evil ex, Priscilla, an ancient vampire who hasn't been spotted in Nightfall in decades.

Until the day she breezes into town, right as vampire war is breaking out between the clans...

The timing for a spell breaking intervention couldn't be worse, but that won't stop me. They say it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

I say: Anyone who threatens the man I love is about to "F" around and find out what happens when you cross a Wonderfully witch.

My Review     5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the third book in the series and although it could be read as a stand alone book, you really would benefit from reading the other books in the series first, just to get the broader idea of what has gone on before with the sisters and how they have become what they are.

Casey is the third Wonderfully sister and is engaged to Edmund one of the Blackmore men, mainly in order to save her daughter from her nasty demon ex boyfriend and Amy, her daughters, nasty father.

This author certainly manages to weave a story that captivates and pulls you in for the ride, and you cannot stop turning page after page and devouring the story and the lifes' of its characters.

I really enjoyed Casey as she showed her mama bear strength and fought hard for what she wanted and her family.  Edmund also stepped up to the plate for the woman who he had not forgotten from their first encounter over 4 years ago before she had Amy.

I really love this series and at the end we are introduced to the next two main characters, Felicity and Ferris and cannot wait to see what this author whips up for their happy ending and the continuation of the main story line.

Certainly a book to be recommended.

REVIEW - The Bachelor Auction (The Bachelors of Arizona #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

The Book
Release Date: 4 October 2016

Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

Jane first meets Brock when she is practically forced to go to a party with her demanding and manipulative older sisters.  The sisters get drunk and rip her dress and Brock steps in as her saviour, only to them both to find a connection t hat they have never felt before.  But Brock has been told by his grandfather that he is being put up for auction and that he wants Brock to get married.

The visit between the pair is short and Jane leaves, having left a big impression on Brock and Jane cannot get him out of her head when she gets a phone call from an older gentleman asking her to clean up a house for the new occupants and she will get £30,000.  It is her nasty sisters that ultimately makes her mind up.

At the house, both find each other and Brock brothers turn up, getting Brock into an area where he has to face his fears and his feelings.  Within two weeks both Jane and Brock feel more for each other than for anyone else and Brock asks Jane to trust him.

Plans into action and all parties get what they want and Jane and Brock get a happiness they never though they would get.

I really liked this book and think that the twin brothers were almost the stars of the show and i cannot wait for them to get their happy ever afters.

REVIEW - Keep (Seaside Pictures #2) by Rachel Van Dyken

The Book
Release Date: 6 September 2016

Seaside Pictures Book 2 (All books in this series are interconnected stand alones)

My name's shouted on rooftops.
It's written on bras, bathroom stalls, hell my name is everywhere. To say my name is to experience an orgasm without ever leaving your house.
My name?
Zane "Saint" Andrews.
I'm sex.
I'm a rock god.
I'm also a virgin.
What they don't know won't kill them right? Give the people what they want. And what they want is the idea of me; the pleasure they gain at listening to my song and knowing without a doubt I'm talking about them and only them.
It worked for a while.
Until a nerdy girl with glasses falls at my feet, literally, and suddenly I don't want to be Saint anymore, what I want? What I really need?
Is to be kept.
By her.

My Review     5 STARS
Although this is the second book in a series it can certainly be read as a stand alone story without any problem as it really does focus on Fallon a nerdy girl and Zane "Saint" Andrews a music God who has many many fans.

Zane is hiding out in the seaside town that his friends live at in order to hide from the world, he also has his own personal demons that he is facing.

Fallon is walking with her friend when she is pushed over and loses her glasses.  It is Zane that helps her and it sparks a connection with each other that ends up having Zane ask Fallon for help.

Fallow has a best friend who does thinks to help, but hakes her look a little clumsy sometimes, but has her heart in the right place and does help her with a makeover when she needs it.

Zane has a good group of friends that are there for him and support him when he needs it most, but it is ultimately
Fallon that helps him with the biggest and most difficult hurdle he has to climb.

I really enjoyed the feels that this book has and look forward to reading more from this author.

REVIEW - Good Girls Say Please (Love, Daddy #5) by Dani Wyatt

The Book
Release Date: 26 November 2018

From the moment I saw her in the greenhouse checkout line fumbling for change, I changed. I smiled for Christ sake. It felt odd. I couldn’t remember the last time anything made me smile.

See, I’m not in the smiling sort of business. My life hasn’t given me much to smile about for a long time.

This five-foot-nothing package of contradictions has me turning my life upside down. With her crooked glasses and her blonde bangs that are always in her eyes, she’s one half my little girl. In the next breath, she’s pure sex with a backside that looks best with my handprint on both cheeks.

The first time she called me Daddy, I knew I’d never be the same. I want to be a better man because of her. She’s mine, my everything and I’ll protect her to the ends of the earth.

The only problem is. I may have to.

Author’s Note: This is pure Daddy heaven. Rough talking Russian meets his one of a kind cherub, and his cold heart starts beating again. It starts dirty and ends dirtier, but in between is all the yumminess of a possessive Daddy trying to change his life for his babygirl. And just for the record, no one is related here and they are all over the age of 18.

My Review    5 STARS
This is the first book that I have read by this author and it will not be the last.

This novella is fast paced and is in dual point of view and certainly has all the emotions of both characters.

Stas is in the criminal world and helps people get new lives and disappear, whilst Ginger has run from her family and was found by Star when he felt an immediate connection with her.

But with Star having a woman it puts Ginger in danger, but the danger is from someone that neither party saw coming.

Star does everything he can when Ginger suddenly goes missing when he goes on a business trip.  He involves his best friend George, his assistant Sarah and as many of Georges acquaintances that owe favours.

Both Ginger and Stas have told lies to each other that are found out, but it does not deter from their love and only strengthens them as they strive to do better and be better.

I loved how both give each other their full trust and support and how they would do anything for each other and the person they love.

REVIEW - Irresistible Trouble (Copper Valley Fireballs #4) by Pippa Grant

The Book
Release Date: 29 September 2022

I, Cooper Rock, baseball god, worshipper of women, hometown hero, beloved son and brother, and owner of a well-deserved ego, have always reached for the stars. Usually in baseball.

In love? Nah. When you’ve played the field as much as I have and haven’t been bit by the bug, you’re immune.

Or so I thought until she walked back into my life.

Waverly Sweet. Pop music sensation. Universally beloved for good reason. She’s freaking awesome. Kind. Funny. Talented. Sexy as hell. Real. And still completely out of my league.

But I have been hit by the Waverly Sweet tour bus of love, tumbled head over heels, and come up in a field of Waverly-scented roses. This is it. She’s my one and only, and this time, I won’t screw it up.

I’m cleaning up my reputation. I’m ignoring the doubters. I’m channeling everything I have into proving to her that I can be the man she deserves.

No matter what else I have to sacrifice for love.

Including baseball.

Irresistible Trouble is a hilarious home run of a romcom about a baseball player whose ego is catching up to him, a pop star who’s a bit of a hot mess when the cameras aren’t looking (and sometimes when they are), and the kind of family and teammates that everyone deserves… in small doses. While this laugh-out-loud romance stands alone with a sweet-swoony HEA, you won’t go wrong if you dive into the entire Fireballs series, starting with Jock Blocked, first. And for more Cooper Rock cameos, check out Master Baker (a standalone featuring Cooper’s brother) and the Bro Code series.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Pippa is certainly becoming one of my favourite authors.  There is comedy, there are funny animals of some sort, there are melt your heart moments and the inability to to put the book down until you have finished.

I absolutely LOVED Cooper Rock and Waverly as they fought battles to find a happy ever after and be there for someone who makes their life happier.

Cooper is a permahappy man, he loves his job, he loves his family, but when he sees Waverly for the first time in years, he realises that she is the one that got away and realises that she is the woman that he wants.

Waverly has always remembered the man never contacted her again after a three day relationship and when she sees Cooper again finds out the reason he never contacted her again.

Both can't forget each other and start the daily communications that bring them together  in so many ways.  Both are there for each other and make time where they can to meet up and spend their personal time together.

Both suddenly find that there is now something else out there that they would drop everything for and give up on their dreams just so that they can have a happy personal life.

I loved how we still get to see other couples from previous books pop up and take a supporting stage and help the couple where needed.

I am really looking forward to the next book in the series, to be honest any book from this author.  I really enjoyed this book abnd now need to find all the other epilogues.

REVIEW - Tell Me (Love Me #1) by Abigail Strom

The Book
Release Date: 1 October 2017

Shy bookstore owner Jane Finch grew up hiding in the margins of her own life while her vibrant, adventure-loving sister, Samantha, dominated every plotline. She’s made peace with it, unlike Sam’s business partner, Caleb, who’s always nudging Jane to go after what she really wants. Why should she care what blunt, brash Caleb thinks? They’ve never had much in common, except for Sam.

After tragedy strikes, they don’t even have that.

Caleb can’t quite remember when Sam’s little sister stopped being like a surrogate sibling to him and became just… Jane. She’s the most intriguing woman he’s ever met, and so much sexier and stronger than she thinks. On the emotional journey to honor Sam’s memory, the spark they’ve tried to deny becomes an inferno. This journey was meant to be an ending, but will they discover an unexpected new beginning?

My Review    5 STARS
**My thanks to Netgalley and Montlake Romance for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Jane is a shy bookstore owner and her older sister Sam is best friends and co owner of an adventure company with Caleb.  Caleb has always treated Jane like a little sister, but things take a slightly different turn the next time that Caleb comes back from a trip with Sam.

Jane meets a man who she is interested in and he is just as into books as she is, but when Sam comes bounding in, the man becomes a little infatuated with Sam immediately.  Jane is crushed and it is Caleb that picks up the pieces and lets Jane know that it is his loss.

Sam leaves with Caleb a few days later for a Climbing competition, but unfortunately there is devistation and Caleb has to let Jane know some very bad news which devastates her completely.  Caleb is the one who eventually has to help Jane pick up the pieces and in the process, the pair forge a closer bond and a relationship that Sam would very much approve of.

I really loved how Caleb was a good supportive man and was exactly what Jane needed and went for what he wanted, even if he had a bit of a wobble in the process.

I will certainly read more from this author.
