I’m Camille— the only pauper in Mount Evor.
But that’s not why I’m on the no-fly list.
Six years ago, the principality’s royal palace went up in flames.
Several people died.
My sister Jeannette, who worked there, disappeared.
The inquiry blamed her for the arson.
Since then, I’ve been an outcast—compromised and harassed—but determined to clear my sister’s name.

Four weeks before Christmas, the hunky Louis de Valois, Duke of Arrago, raps on my window.
What if he has news about Jeannette’s case?
I invite him in.
He glances at his watch and declines my invitation.
And then he asks me to marry him.

Perfect for fans of Jill Shalvis, Lauren Landish, Nicole Snow and Louise Bay, this full-length novel stands on its own within an ongoing saga.

This book is a feel good book with a mystery unfolding within that certainly helps pull you along as the Heroine Camille follows the leads to find out what happened to her sister six years ago when a fire happened in the palace and her sister disappeared.

Louis is called back home by is grandfather the Duke and told that he is going to be the one to next inherit the Dukedom instead of his father.  The only problem is that his grandfather puts a stipulation in that he has to marry Camille and stay with her as husband and wife for one year.

During the beginning though Camille pulls Louis in with her request to find out what happened and Louis finds that Camille is very bright and has a knack for solving problems and riddles.  He ends up falling hard for the woman he is married to.

Camille on the other hand who has been used to being looked down on for most of her life, wonders why the gorgeous man who called himself her husband wants her.  Sometimes she finds herself in trouble and Louis helps her, but Camille is made of strong stuff and when trouble does finally comes for her, Louis proves his worth and proves to Camille that he is the man for her after all.
