No.117 - The BIG Read

Shy, mild Mandy has been bullied at school for as long as she can remember. That's why she is delighted when cheeky, daring, full-of-fun Tanya picks her as a friend.

Mum isn't happy - she thinks Tanya's a BAD GIRL and a bad influence on her daughter. But Mandy loves spending time with her brilliant new friend, and is sure Tanya can only get her out of trouble, not into it . . . or could she?

My Opinion  3 STARS

This book tackles the issues of bullying and stealing along with one of the characters being involved with the foster care system.

Shy Mandy is bullied because her mum dresses her quite young, her mum is overweight and the fact that her mum picks her up from school.

She finds a friend in a new girl that appears over the road who is a little bit older, and seems at lot cooler. But Tanya likes to steal things for both of them and takes care of Mandy constantly telling Mandy how lucky she is to have her parents.

Mandy starts learning how to stick up for herself and makes new friends so that when she hoes back to school she can ignore the bullies.
