My Opinion 5 STARS
So this book is all about Strider and Kaia.
Strider is the keepers of Defeat and because of his demon must win every challenge his is given or he suffers immense pain. Strider has been trying to keep away from Kaia due to the feelings he has for her. He also does not like to bed women that his friends have slept with and he knows that she has slept with Paris. He also knows that she challenges his demon at every opportunity.
Kaia knows that Strider is her consort and only he will calm her Harpy nature. She throws challenges knowing that he cannot lose, giving his the endorphin rush from his demon at winning. However seeing Striders reluctance at every turn, she leaves him behind to compete at the Harpy games. A Place where she has not been welcome in a long long time and where she earned her nick-name Kaia the Disappointment.
However Strider turns up at the games after being talked to by Gwen, and they find the winner gets the pairing rod. The fourth item needed to find pandora's box.
Strider struggles with his feelings and both grow closer together until the inevitable happens. Strider looks out for Kaia and Kaia battles with her past earning her a new nick-name.
We also see more in this book of William and Kane and of Paris.
Another brilliant book in the series.
