Tangling with the CEO: A Half Moon Bay Novel (Half Moon Bay #1) by Annie Seaton

The Book
Release Date: 9 December 2013

Mixing business with pleasure never felt so right.

Blake Buchanan and Anastasia Delaney were roommates in college and could never see eye to eye about anything. The only time their walls came down was during one night of passion before Ana left without a word, never expecting to cross paths with Blake again.

Years later, Blake has made his millions. He comes back to Ana’s small California town to manage a corporate takeover that will close down the home restoration business she’s poured her heart and soul into. The fiery Ana is determined to convince money-minded Blake of her business’s worth, but when a family emergency throws them together, their walls come tumbling down once again…

Problem is, Blake’s business-first position hasn’t changed. And Ana can’t fall for the man who could become her boss—it’s not only her job at stake, but her heart.

My Opinion  3.5 STARS

Can a rocky past with her ex college housemate and one-time lover help Ana keep her restoration job when his company has just taken over the store she works at?

Blake and Ana shared a house during college and constantly had fights on principle and tidiness before that last night where it all came to a head, leading to one incredible night together.  Then Ana gets the call from her mother saying she has less than a year to live and she panics and leaves without leaving a note.

Ten years elapse and our tangled lovers meet up where the sparks still find themselves igniting and that they have unfinished business.

I loved when his sister drops her kids of in a frantic mess just as Ana goes to his house for a meeting she is roped into helping him out with the five of them for the weekend.  Sparks continue to fly and he knows there is something she is keeping from him.

Trust is one of the issues between them, along with time.  Chaos is the main theme and they have several misunderstandings.  Both are there for multiple scary moments with his sisters kids and they bond even further.

It is a change of heart, or rather ideals that lands our main characters back together for good as Blake realises that his life has been empty and he decides that he wants Ana for good.

A sweet romance.
