Arran MacLain is a vampire on a suicide mission, driven to kill his former partner who betrayed him and the Enclave they served. But two things stand in his way: Gabrielle, the human female who holds his heart, and the past that won’t let him go. If only death was enough to cleanse his soul.

Gabrielle Steven’s sister is missing. Her hunt for clues brings her face to face with the one vampire she can’t forget. Their missions combine and thrust them into the heart of evil. Will their passion be enough to overcome the pain from their past, or will their dark desires destroy them both?

My Opinion  4 STARS
We knew from book one in the series that Arran and Elle had the spark for one another and in this book, which happens two years after the first ends we see the explosive coming together of Arran and Elle.

We knew Arran had protective feelings for Elle, so when he finds her in a dangerous bar looking for her missing sister he feels that he has no choice but to help her in order to keep her safe.

Both have issues in their past that hold them back from giving each other all of themselves, but with the growing bond between them, they both relive pasts they would have preferred were buried.

The enclave face an old nemesis, rescue Elle's sister Alex and bring back Markus into their lives abate he gets put in a sliver cage.

We lose a member of the enclave, yet we also learn of a secret the Marguerite had held very close to her chest one that leads us very neatly into book three.

A better book than book one and I really got swept up with the story.
