Flirting with Disaster (Camelot 3) - Ruthie Knox

The Book
Release Date: 10 June 2013

In the latest eBook original novel in Ruthie Knox’s scorching-hot Camelot series, a no-strings fling looks an awful lot like falling in love—or flirting with disaster.

Fresh out of a fiasco of a marriage, Katie Clark has retreated to her hometown to start over. The new Katie is sophisticated, cavalier, and hell-bent on kicking butt at her job in her brother’s security firm. But on her first assignment—digging up the truth about the stalker threatening a world-famous singer-songwriter—Katie must endure the silent treatment from a stern but sexy partner who doesn’t want her help . . . or her company.

Sean Owens knows that if he opens his mouth around Katie, she’ll instantly remember him as the geeky kid who sat behind her in high school. Silence is golden, but he can’t keep quiet forever, not with Katie stampeding through their investigation. It’s time for Sean to step up and take control of the case, and his decade-old crush. If he can break through Katie’s newfound independence, they just might find they make a perfect team—on the road, on the job, and in bed.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from these Loveswept titles: How to Misbehave, Along Came Trouble, and About Last Night.

My Opinion  3 STARS

This book had a much more sedate pace that didn't really pick up, even if they did get their happy ending.

Katie is the little sister of Amber and Caleb and has been living in Calebs house since she returned home from Alaska.  She has been secretly married for the last ten years to her high-school boyfriend.  However he left her nd took her savings after she worked to pay and put him through college. She has been working in the admin side of Eric brothers security company.

Sean only came back from San Jose to Camelot when his estranged mother died.  He got a job with Calebs company after meeting him in a pub and has not been able to talk to Katie.  Both had a bit of a crush on the other at high-school.

Sean left Camelot at sixteen and had himself emancipated from his mother, her set up a successful business with his best friend that has bought him money, but the company is now losing profits years later.

They are both thrust together when they have to work a case for Judah, at famous singer.  Judah is convinced that only Katie can help him with his problem, but Judah is not exactly forthcoming at the beginning.

Sean helps with his hacking skills and Katie with her people skills, she is brilliant at reading people and getting them to talk.

Time along with some snow, sean's stuttering and other factors bring the pair into a good sexual relationship, but because of her ex she wants nothing more than that, yet Sean find himself falling in love very quickly.

Both have their problems that they have to overcome, nothing major, and its a bit of a let down how easy it all is.  After a short separation Sean realises that he cannot live without Katie and goes to the wedding of Caleb and Ellen in Jamaica where he and Katie make up.

As i said the book is slow going and only picks up the pace slightly near the end.  Felt like reading a very long book.
