Mine to Hold (Mine 3) - Cynthia Eden

The Book
Release Date: 21 October 2013

She was one man’s obsession…

Nine years ago, Claire Kramer’s lover brutally killed her family, and he tried to kill her. She escaped, but she’s been haunted ever since that attack. Too afraid to trust another man and too worried that her past will catch up with her, Claire never gets too close to anyone. But then she meets Noah York.

He must have her.

Noah York is a man with secrets. The world sees him as a billionaire hotel tycoon, but Noah has a dark and dangerous side. For years, he worked covert military operations before he built his fortune. When it comes to death, Noah is a master. He knows that he should steer clear of Claire, but the white-hot attraction Noah feels for the delicate beauty is instant—and consuming.

He will never let her go.

Someone else is just as consumed by Claire—someone who will kill to possess her. And if Noah can’t stop the hunter in the darkness, he may just lose the one woman that he can’t live without.

My Opinion  5 STARS

**ARC Provided by Netgalley and Cynthia Eden for an honest review**

This book was just as good as the last.  Claire has already been through so much and she has lost another job.  She is desperate.  She goes to New York, to a man who she hopes can help her.  Noah York  A man she met when she turned up to find her sister murdered in Chicago.

Noah first met Claire when she was trying to escape the studio apartment that Skye had lent her for her safety.  When he tried to stop her from leaving she gave him a split lip and he had to restrain her before taking her the front of the building to confirm that he was not there to hurt her.

Claire has lived in fear since she was sixteen, she tried to kill herself once, and now has nothing.  she has no family, no money, no job and no where to live.  The past always finds her and she has to move on again.

Noah gives her the job he wants, but he also tells her that he wants her.  But he doesn't fuck his employees and tells her he wont touch her until she asks him to.

However it does not take long for the past to catch up with her, making her even more afraid of the people around her and she runs.  Noah however is not going to let her run away from him.  He wants to protect her and he will do anything to make sure that she is safe.

Trace  and Drake are pulled into the situation when they realise how serious Noah is about Claire and they worry about their friend and the limits of his control.  For when Noah loses his control people die.

The mystery is interwoven well into the story and you never quite know who the killer is.  All the people who have hurt her start dying in the way that her parents died and it frightens Claire.  Noah however is with her and he and his friends are out there searching for answers around every corner.

He helps with her fear and refuses to let her beg for anything.

Claire realises how far she would go to save Noah when the killer turns up when she herself shoots him before turning and running to Noah.  But the danger is not over like she thinks it is.  Noah whisks her back to his beach house where things take a turn for the worst and Claire is faced with her worst nightmare.  The man that killed her parents, her only ex-boyfriend.

There is of course a confrontation between the three of them and Claire does what she can to ensure Noah is safe, she offers to go with him as long as he leaves Noah alone.  But it doesn't work.  He is angry that she would try to sae him and she is shot.  That is when Noah makes his move and removes the threat permanently.

CLaire fights for her life as Noah rushes to get her to a hospital where Drake and Trace find him right on the edge of his control, knowing he will lose it completely and possibly forever if she should die.

We get out happy ending though as she pulls through and only a short while are married.

I do hope that we get a story for Drake.  The man is always there for his friends and you can see his darkness, waiting for the light to show him the way to happiness.
