The Guardians (More 2) - T.M. Guardians

The Book
Release Date: 7 November 2013

It’s not every day a girl discovers she’s not entirely human and unlocks hidden powers strong enough to make even the First Race take notice. Then again, Ava Michaels is no ordinary girl.

Now, the Race’s Ruling Council wants her under their control, and that’s just the beginning of her problems. Her boyfriend, Caleb Foster, has disappeared—accused of betraying the Race—and Ava herself is implicated in a crime she didn’t commit.

Clearing their names will mean uncovering a web of deceit and intrigue with Ava woven right in the center. To unravel the strands, she joins forces with some unlikely allies; a Protector who once haunted her nightmares, a young girl with secrets as unexpected as Ava’s, and a group of rebel Guardians who have their own fight against the Council.

Together they stand in a battle to find the truth, bring Caleb home, and secure Ava’s freedom—not to mention save her life.

My Opinion  4 STARS

An action packed sequel that will leave you wanting more.

The second book in the series often is not as good as the first, however this is not the case with this book.

This book is filled with so much that things seem to twist and turn before your eyes. You certainly do not know who can be trusted and appearances of character can be deceiving.

Ava and Caleb are of course in the middle of the book, and we see more of Tiernan who has wiggled his way into my good books.

After Caleb acts strangely, he disappears, so Ava, with Tiernan in tow, goes to find him. Along the way she finds herself wanted for murder and on the run. She also has Tiernan constantly checking in with the council as someone there has found a good 'finder of people'.

They are told in which direction to head and find, instead of Caleb a teenage girl with strong powers that can manipulate the mind. They take her along with them to the colony in Canada that Caleb was going to take her to in book one.

Once there Tiernan tries to help her with unlocking her powers in every way her can, but they get no where.

Gideon is the head of the guardians and is Calebs father. After talks he says that there are rumours about the rogues. When Ava feels them coming they are all ready for the up coming fight.

When Caleb and Ava meet he tries to get both Ava and Emma to go with him but Ava binds him with her powers. Once the fight is over they drag him to an area inside where Emma clears his head as it was her that changed him.

Later that night after not being able to sleep Ava finds Emma and agrees to let her take the rest of the block from her mind where she gets a nose bleed.

The next day, with the others in tow she displays her new talents, only stopping when Caleb tackles her as her nose is bleeding. She hadn't noticed but now notices that she also has a headache.

Not being able to sleep again Ava gets up to see Emma walking into the woods, so she gets up and follows her. Emma uses her mind control against Ava and pushes her to use her powers feeding her extra energy. Ava ignores her bleeding nose.

Caleb turns up and tries to talk Ava out of what she is doing, but Emma continues to touch her and manipulate her. It is only when she has nearly killed Caleb that something causes her to stop. Realising what she has done, she rushes to Caleb who instantly shifts them back to safety.

Back at the colony, they all discuss and come up with a plan of action for what now has to be done.

I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next one.
