REVIEW - The Naughty Billionaire's Baby Bargain (The Billionaire's of Jingle Bell Junction Book 2) by Erin McCarthy & Lili Valente

The Book
Release Date: 26 December 2022

Solid New Year's Advice? Don't start having steamy dreams about your best gal pal.

Oops...too late. But in my defense this is all Nancy's fault. If she hadn't asked me to be her sperm donor while wearing that sexy red dress, I wouldn't be in this mess.

But here I am, headed to an overnight New Year's Eve party with my best friend. We're supposed to be sledding and playing board games, but all I can think about is how much I want to taste every inch of Nancy--and give her that baby she's longing for while I'm at it.

When we get to our room and find there's only one bed, it feels like the universe is conspiring to turn us into friends with baby-making benefits.

But what happens when I realize the love I feel for this woman runs so much deeper than friendship?

Can a formerly naughty billionaire win the heart of the good girl next door, or will I end up facing midnight alone?

REVIEW - The Grumpy Billionaire Who Stole Christmas by Erin McCarthy & Lili Valente

The Book
Release Date: 28 November 2022
Goodreads Link

I’m a grump and proud of it. I hate forced cheer, pointless traditions, and the fact that everything in Jingle Bell Junction reminds me of my lonely teen years.

Which is why I decide to steal the town’s ridiculous Christmas tree topper and burn the peg leg—yes, a peg leg. I’ll be doing the town a favor by making Jingle Hell a slightly less embarrassing place to spend the holidays.

Then, sweet, generous, sunshine-y Holly Jo catches me in the act. Holly, whose smile has always melted my icy heart. Even when we were kids.

She ropes me into baking dog treats with her to make amends, when the power goes out and we’re snowed in together for the night.

Add in one roaring fire, an unexpectedly sexy reindeer costume, and some whipped cream, and suddenly my trip to Jingle Hell is turning into Jingle Hell Yeah…

But what happens when one night with this woman isn’t nearly enough?

Contents include a lonely businessman, a happy-go-lucky optimist in a reindeer costume, and all the holiday hijinks. This swoony romance is the first book in a series of interconnected standalones following the billionaire Ratcliffe brothers.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

In this book we are taken to Jingle Bell Junction, a small town with bad cell service that Luke has been forced to go back to after the death of his grandfather with his siblings.

It is here, that drink Luke makes a mistake and is caught by Holly-Jo, an old friend, and she makes him help her in order not to hand him over.

Realising that Luke has lost his Christmas spirit she does her best to get Luke to remember the past and to have a little fun after they are stuck at the community centre.

It does not take long for Luke to loosen up and be seduced by Holly and her charms, realising that he has always liked Holly-Jo and that he needs her in his life to bring back the joy that he has been missing.

I really enjoyed this book and really loved the collaboration of the authors.

REVIEW - Alpha Collects (Alpha Horde #4) by Milana Jacks

The Book
Release Date: 6 May 2019

It takes a special kind of Omega to bring an Alpha to his knees.
Kind.
Sweet.
Beautiful. With legs that go on forever, colored eyes, perky protruding nose, funny ears, and… Were was I? Ah yes, I collected one such Omega, and I’m bringing her before my king.

I am Tayseer, the Collector, the Legend.

And I will deliver my people the queen.

My Review  4 STARS
In this the last book of the series we finally see Tayseer find out about human women.

Tayseer was carried away by Loyo, Vemlox's hound and he is found by Jewel, who found herself in an alien planet 7 tears ago when she was only 13.  She has been given to a beta family who have used her as a slave and she had therefore learnt the language on her own.

Jewel takes her back to her family and looks after him as they mistake him for part of the horde.  Tayseer has no choice but be looked after by a female that he cannot see properly, but when he can finally see, he knows exactly what he has found and punishes those that have kept her hidden.

Tayseer starts by doing his job and collecting her and his possessions, but it is not long before his brother traps his and then the king comes to the village and Tayseer is under more stress and prepping Jewel for him.

By being by himself and not having other collectors there however, he finds himself falling for this strange female and even has himself in a panic at one point.

Jewel is kidnapped from under his nose when he ends up in a fight with the king and it is Loven who eventually has to go and get him, while Jewel finds herself in Ohala and going into heat, but when Tayseer arrives he does not immediately want to see her which hurts more.

Tayseer of course ends up going to see her, helping her heat and bonding her and getting his own red armour and challenging the king, all while knowing secrets that not many others know about the king.

I really enjoyed seeing Tayseer fall and learning new life lessons and taking over with his Jewel at his side.

REVIEW - Alpha Knots (Alpha Horde #3) by Milana Jacks

The Book
Release Date: 22 February 2019

If I keep her, there’s no going back.

Officer Samantha Noell
In the blink of an eye, I’m head-first in a snowdrift, rescued by the biggest, greenest—man?—I’ve ever seen. Whatever he is, he turns my take-no-crap attitude into need. I should escape, but I’ve got a hunch that I’m close to solving a cold case involving several women who disappeared into thin air.

Vemlox
My plan is foolproof. Fetch the Omega and hand her over to Montar, thus sealing Loven’s alliance between Guardians and Horde. Thanks to a glitchy space gate, I’m stuck in a freezing cave with something that’s turned the simple delivery into a suicide mission. An Omega I must not want and can never have.

Unfortunately, she’s going into heat. And Serpent help me, I will betray the Horde and starve on a pole if only to keep her.

My Review  4 STARS
In this book we have Vemlox who has been in the last two books on a mission to find allies to join the horde in order to fight against the king.

Vemlox knows that there is going to be another human who he is going to use to get Loven's brother to have in order to help his case.

Samantha is a human cop who has only recently graduated and want to be a detective, the case of the missing two human women entries her, and when she goes back to investigate late at night she finds herself transported for a foreign planet in the snow.

Vemlox finds and takes Sam up the mountain on his back, but looks after her and with his knowledge of the other two human women, makes her more comfortable, but he finds himself liking this female.

His sister Sidone, a rare Alpha female  greets him when he reaches the top, but the news of Loven and his female has already reached them.  Sam only feels comfortable with Vemlox and loves the more BDSM wants of Vemlox and loves being commanded.

Vemlox has to deal with Tayseer as he turns up, but Sam helps and Tayseer is dispatched and taken away by the hound of Vemlox.  He then has to issue a challenge to Loven's other brother and wins.  He then can take the other Alpha males to the Horde, including his sister.

Enjoyed this part of the series and cannot wait to read Tayseers story.

REVIEW - Alpha Bonds (Alpha Horde #2) by Milana Jacks

The Book
Release Date: 7 January 2019

He should nip this desire in the bud, but it's grown beyond his control.

Cyan
One second, I'm battling an overgrown hedge with a pair of clippers. The next, I'm running for my life, positive I've stumbled onto a prank reality show set, complete with a towering, red-haired guy in costume who throws me over his shoulder like I weigh nothing — I'm a big girl, never been thin.

Half of me is horrified to find out I've somehow been transported to an alien planet. The other half would sure like to explore the masterpiece of muscle under that armor.

Kinre
Horde life is simple. Hunt the enemy, kill the enemy. But after Loven broke the law by bonding an Omega meant for the king, life got real complicated. Instead of exterminating Telean rebels, I'm playing nice to recruit them for Loven's stupid rebellion.

Then I make a big mistake. Huge. I rescue a helpless human, only to discover this curvy, tempting morsel is an Omega about to go into heat. Fleeing the Telean ship and returning her to the Horde stronghold means abandoning the Telean alliance — and destroying everything we've risked our lives for.

I should nip this desire in the bud, but it's grown beyond my control.

My Review  4 STARS
In this second book of the series we have Loven's brother Kinre going on a mission when human Cyan enters the portal on each by accident and finds herself in the swamp jungle that Kinre is going through and he needs to keep her quiet when she screams nearby.

Cyan is also from San Diego and works in her late fathers gardening company that her step father is running to the ground.  She is of medical descent and is fairly short and well rounded.

Kinre finds her and is stumped when he finds another human Omega woman and ties her up and gags her in order to keep her quiet and in order to do his mission.

Kinre tries his best to keep away from her but ultimately cannot resist her smell and ends up doing things to keep her calm.  When his brother Tayseer interferes though all best are off as he needs to keep this human safe and away from his brother who works for the king.

Cyan ends up being sent back to Ohala to Loven on Venlox's back while Kinre stays to finish his mission.

The space between them however has them really missing each other and when Kinre finds his way back to Ohala, he bonds his human woman and also gains his red armour like Loven.

Cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

REVIEW - Alpha Breeds (Alpha Horde #1) by Milana Jacks

The Book
Release Date: 26 Oct 2018

Omegas belong to the king. But this one belongs to me.

Kingsley
At the frat party, someone must have spiked my beer, because I see a bright light and find myself sitting on a bed with a huge, green monster looming over me. I screech and throw every sharp object within reach. But you know what’s really weird? I’m terrified and, at the same time, there’s something about those black eyes, that scent, that purrrr that makes my body come alive.

Loven
I fight for the honor of someday owning an Omega—a rare breeding female reserved for Alphas hand-selected by the king. For years, fighting alone has been enough. Until I scent this alien female, and my body emits a mating call.

Omegas are the king’s property. If I don’t deliver her to the Omega Compound, I’ll lose my life, the lives of my Horde Alphas, and risk starting a full-scale rebellion. And yet, I can’t part from her. This one belongs to me.

***Science fiction alien captive romance with Mf Omegaverse flavor. Inside the pages: No cliffhanger. No cheating. Barbaric unapologetic alpha male who loves HARD. Dystopian (dark totalitarian) world.

My Review   4 STARS
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised.

The first chapter took me a little to get into and it does not take long for our human woman to enter a portal and find herself on an alien planet.

Kinsley does not get out of the building she finds herself in much at all, in fact she seems to spend the majority of it in Loven's bedroom as is is not only safer there, Loven, the male that finds her there decides as she is an Omega female that he should breed her.

Loven is the leader of the horde and when he discovers Kinglsey cannot help but fall for the strange woman and make her feel safe and cared for.  When he finds he has bonded to her after a coupling, he discovers their planets kings secret and changes his way of thinking for his woman protection.

The novella moves very fast, but still has a good amount of world building and description of the place around them.

REVIEW - A Hundred Million Reasons (Lonesome Point Bachelors Book 10) by Lili Valente

The Book
Release Date: 18 October 2022

If Yasmin North knows one thing for sure, it’s that love sucks. That’s why she’s moving forward with her happily-ever-after solo plan, with the help of a sperm sample from a six-foot-two donor who apparently holds a doctorate in both computer science and social work. Meaning he’s brilliant and kind—talk about superior baby-making DNA.

But when the sperm bank informs her the sperm she has her heart set on was mistakenly sold to her from the storage-only database, Yasmin declines the refund and sparks up a please-let-me-have-your-baby-batter email negotiation with the unnamed donor instead (albeit, not very successfully). Add in her mother’s prize-winning rooster terrorizing her around her parents’ farm and so far, Yasmin’s move back to Lonesome Point is proving less than ideal…

The first time Noah O’Sullivan visited his cousin in Lonesome Point, Texas, he fell hard for the fun, quirky little town. So he’s not really surprised to find himself falling hard for a fun, quirky Lonesome Point girl. The moment Yasmin races past him, chased by a giant demon rooster, his gut utters two words—
yes and mine.

It’s clear he and Yasmin have an instant connection, but convincing the wounded woman to let him be her knight in faded blue jeans is proving harder than he expects. Especially when he discovers
she’s the woman who was accidentally given his sperm sample…

Previously published as Going Rate for Mr. Right (c) 2016 as a part of Erin Nicholas’s Sapphire Falls Kindle World series.

My Review  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I first found this author when I read the first book in this series and she very much became a most favourite author of mine.

This novella is back in Lonesome point and follows Yasmin on her quest to become a mother after finding she has bad test in men and swears that she is giving up men for a happy after she chooses.

Noah is in Lonesome point visiting his cousin, but knows that shortly he will be moving there for a quieter life.

With a chance meeting after her mothers Rooster chases her through Lonesome point they both feel a connection, but Yasmin is a little skittish.  When she finds out that Noah is the man that she is supposed to meet in regards to a sperm sample, she is a little freaked out.

Noah feels a connection with Yasmin and when he finds out that it is the woman who has he with a feeling like he has never felt before, he is up for changing his mind.

I really liked the connection between the pair and the fact that the rooster seems to push them together as they navigate his dislike for them both.

Really hope we get to see more of this series in the future.

The timing for a spell breaking intervention couldn't be worse, but that won't stop me. They say it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

I say: Anyone who threatens the man I love is about to "F" around and find out what happens when you cross a Wonderfully witch.

My Review     5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the third book in the series and although it could be read as a stand alone book, you really would benefit from reading the other books in the series first, just to get the broader idea of what has gone on before with the sisters and how they have become what they are.

Casey is the third Wonderfully sister and is engaged to Edmund one of the Blackmore men, mainly in order to save her daughter from her nasty demon ex boyfriend and Amy, her daughters, nasty father.

This author certainly manages to weave a story that captivates and pulls you in for the ride, and you cannot stop turning page after page and devouring the story and the lifes' of its characters.

I really enjoyed Casey as she showed her mama bear strength and fought hard for what she wanted and her family.  Edmund also stepped up to the plate for the woman who he had not forgotten from their first encounter over 4 years ago before she had Amy.

I really love this series and at the end we are introduced to the next two main characters, Felicity and Ferris and cannot wait to see what this author whips up for their happy ending and the continuation of the main story line.

Certainly a book to be recommended.

REVIEW - The Bachelor Auction (The Bachelors of Arizona #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

The Book
Release Date: 4 October 2016

Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

My Review     5 STARS
**My thanks to Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Jane first meets Brock when she is practically forced to go to a party with her demanding and manipulative older sisters.  The sisters get drunk and rip her dress and Brock steps in as her saviour, only to them both to find a connection t hat they have never felt before.  But Brock has been told by his grandfather that he is being put up for auction and that he wants Brock to get married.

The visit between the pair is short and Jane leaves, having left a big impression on Brock and Jane cannot get him out of her head when she gets a phone call from an older gentleman asking her to clean up a house for the new occupants and she will get £30,000.  It is her nasty sisters that ultimately makes her mind up.

At the house, both find each other and Brock brothers turn up, getting Brock into an area where he has to face his fears and his feelings.  Within two weeks both Jane and Brock feel more for each other than for anyone else and Brock asks Jane to trust him.

Plans into action and all parties get what they want and Jane and Brock get a happiness they never though they would get.

I really liked this book and think that the twin brothers were almost the stars of the show and i cannot wait for them to get their happy ever afters.

REVIEW - Keep (Seaside Pictures #2) by Rachel Van Dyken

The Book
Release Date: 6 September 2016

Seaside Pictures Book 2 (All books in this series are interconnected stand alones)

My name's shouted on rooftops.
It's written on bras, bathroom stalls, hell my name is everywhere. To say my name is to experience an orgasm without ever leaving your house.
My name?
Zane "Saint" Andrews.
I'm sex.
I'm a rock god.
I'm also a virgin.
What they don't know won't kill them right? Give the people what they want. And what they want is the idea of me; the pleasure they gain at listening to my song and knowing without a doubt I'm talking about them and only them.
It worked for a while.
Until a nerdy girl with glasses falls at my feet, literally, and suddenly I don't want to be Saint anymore, what I want? What I really need?
Is to be kept.
By her.

My Review     5 STARS
Although this is the second book in a series it can certainly be read as a stand alone story without any problem as it really does focus on Fallon a nerdy girl and Zane "Saint" Andrews a music God who has many many fans.

Zane is hiding out in the seaside town that his friends live at in order to hide from the world, he also has his own personal demons that he is facing.

Fallon is walking with her friend when she is pushed over and loses her glasses.  It is Zane that helps her and it sparks a connection with each other that ends up having Zane ask Fallon for help.

Fallow has a best friend who does thinks to help, but hakes her look a little clumsy sometimes, but has her heart in the right place and does help her with a makeover when she needs it.

Zane has a good group of friends that are there for him and support him when he needs it most, but it is ultimately
Fallon that helps him with the biggest and most difficult hurdle he has to climb.

I really enjoyed the feels that this book has and look forward to reading more from this author.

REVIEW - Good Girls Say Please (Love, Daddy #5) by Dani Wyatt

The Book
Release Date: 26 November 2018

From the moment I saw her in the greenhouse checkout line fumbling for change, I changed. I smiled for Christ sake. It felt odd. I couldn’t remember the last time anything made me smile.

See, I’m not in the smiling sort of business. My life hasn’t given me much to smile about for a long time.

This five-foot-nothing package of contradictions has me turning my life upside down. With her crooked glasses and her blonde bangs that are always in her eyes, she’s one half my little girl. In the next breath, she’s pure sex with a backside that looks best with my handprint on both cheeks.

The first time she called me Daddy, I knew I’d never be the same. I want to be a better man because of her. She’s mine, my everything and I’ll protect her to the ends of the earth.

The only problem is. I may have to.

Author’s Note: This is pure Daddy heaven. Rough talking Russian meets his one of a kind cherub, and his cold heart starts beating again. It starts dirty and ends dirtier, but in between is all the yumminess of a possessive Daddy trying to change his life for his babygirl. And just for the record, no one is related here and they are all over the age of 18.

My Review    5 STARS
This is the first book that I have read by this author and it will not be the last.

This novella is fast paced and is in dual point of view and certainly has all the emotions of both characters.

Stas is in the criminal world and helps people get new lives and disappear, whilst Ginger has run from her family and was found by Star when he felt an immediate connection with her.

But with Star having a woman it puts Ginger in danger, but the danger is from someone that neither party saw coming.

Star does everything he can when Ginger suddenly goes missing when he goes on a business trip.  He involves his best friend George, his assistant Sarah and as many of Georges acquaintances that owe favours.

Both Ginger and Stas have told lies to each other that are found out, but it does not deter from their love and only strengthens them as they strive to do better and be better.

I loved how both give each other their full trust and support and how they would do anything for each other and the person they love.

REVIEW - Irresistible Trouble (Copper Valley Fireballs #4) by Pippa Grant

The Book
Release Date: 29 September 2022

I, Cooper Rock, baseball god, worshipper of women, hometown hero, beloved son and brother, and owner of a well-deserved ego, have always reached for the stars. Usually in baseball.

In love? Nah. When you’ve played the field as much as I have and haven’t been bit by the bug, you’re immune.

Or so I thought until she walked back into my life.

Waverly Sweet. Pop music sensation. Universally beloved for good reason. She’s freaking awesome. Kind. Funny. Talented. Sexy as hell. Real. And still completely out of my league.

But I have been hit by the Waverly Sweet tour bus of love, tumbled head over heels, and come up in a field of Waverly-scented roses. This is it. She’s my one and only, and this time, I won’t screw it up.

I’m cleaning up my reputation. I’m ignoring the doubters. I’m channeling everything I have into proving to her that I can be the man she deserves.

No matter what else I have to sacrifice for love.

Including baseball.

Irresistible Trouble is a hilarious home run of a romcom about a baseball player whose ego is catching up to him, a pop star who’s a bit of a hot mess when the cameras aren’t looking (and sometimes when they are), and the kind of family and teammates that everyone deserves… in small doses. While this laugh-out-loud romance stands alone with a sweet-swoony HEA, you won’t go wrong if you dive into the entire Fireballs series, starting with Jock Blocked, first. And for more Cooper Rock cameos, check out Master Baker (a standalone featuring Cooper’s brother) and the Bro Code series.

My Review   5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Pippa is certainly becoming one of my favourite authors.  There is comedy, there are funny animals of some sort, there are melt your heart moments and the inability to to put the book down until you have finished.

I absolutely LOVED Cooper Rock and Waverly as they fought battles to find a happy ever after and be there for someone who makes their life happier.

Cooper is a permahappy man, he loves his job, he loves his family, but when he sees Waverly for the first time in years, he realises that she is the one that got away and realises that she is the woman that he wants.

Waverly has always remembered the man never contacted her again after a three day relationship and when she sees Cooper again finds out the reason he never contacted her again.

Both can't forget each other and start the daily communications that bring them together  in so many ways.  Both are there for each other and make time where they can to meet up and spend their personal time together.

Both suddenly find that there is now something else out there that they would drop everything for and give up on their dreams just so that they can have a happy personal life.

I loved how we still get to see other couples from previous books pop up and take a supporting stage and help the couple where needed.

I am really looking forward to the next book in the series, to be honest any book from this author.  I really enjoyed this book abnd now need to find all the other epilogues.

REVIEW - Tell Me (Love Me #1) by Abigail Strom

The Book
Release Date: 1 October 2017

Shy bookstore owner Jane Finch grew up hiding in the margins of her own life while her vibrant, adventure-loving sister, Samantha, dominated every plotline. She’s made peace with it, unlike Sam’s business partner, Caleb, who’s always nudging Jane to go after what she really wants. Why should she care what blunt, brash Caleb thinks? They’ve never had much in common, except for Sam.

After tragedy strikes, they don’t even have that.

Caleb can’t quite remember when Sam’s little sister stopped being like a surrogate sibling to him and became just… Jane. She’s the most intriguing woman he’s ever met, and so much sexier and stronger than she thinks. On the emotional journey to honor Sam’s memory, the spark they’ve tried to deny becomes an inferno. This journey was meant to be an ending, but will they discover an unexpected new beginning?

My Review    5 STARS
**My thanks to Netgalley and Montlake Romance for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Jane is a shy bookstore owner and her older sister Sam is best friends and co owner of an adventure company with Caleb.  Caleb has always treated Jane like a little sister, but things take a slightly different turn the next time that Caleb comes back from a trip with Sam.

Jane meets a man who she is interested in and he is just as into books as she is, but when Sam comes bounding in, the man becomes a little infatuated with Sam immediately.  Jane is crushed and it is Caleb that picks up the pieces and lets Jane know that it is his loss.

Sam leaves with Caleb a few days later for a Climbing competition, but unfortunately there is devistation and Caleb has to let Jane know some very bad news which devastates her completely.  Caleb is the one who eventually has to help Jane pick up the pieces and in the process, the pair forge a closer bond and a relationship that Sam would very much approve of.

I really loved how Caleb was a good supportive man and was exactly what Jane needed and went for what he wanted, even if he had a bit of a wobble in the process.

I will certainly read more from this author.
