BLOG TOUR + GIVEAWAY - Not Quite Enough (Not Quite 3) - Catherine Bybee

The Book
Release Date: 8 October 2013

Monica Mann has made it her life’s work to save lives. After an earthquake and tsunami hit the shores of Jamaica, she volunteers her trauma skills with Borderless Nurses. Calculating and methodical, Monica creates order out of whatever chaos she finds.

Until she finds the perpetually barefoot, impossibly masculine Trent Fairchild. No one can pin him down. No, really. He's a pilot and manages a small fleet of choppers on his adopted island home. Hopelessly drawn to one another, they manage to slip away from the wreckage to get a little closer. And they get a lot closer than expected when aftershocks from the earthquake trap them in a life-or-death scenario. Paradise has brought them together. Now will it tear them apart?

My Opinion  5 STARS
Just like all of the other books I have read by this author, I devoured this book and was quite sad to see the book end.

The author always seems to draw me into the story so much that I feel that I am watching what is happening with the characters she so brilliantly weaves into the story.

I have liked Monica from the first book in the series.  Although this book can be read as a stand alone book, I already knew, hang read the other two book in the series that Monica was a very selfless and giving person.  She was born to be a nurse and had a very generous and loving nature.

After disaster hits Jamaica, Monica flies out with the Borderless Nurses and Doctors and other volunteers. She has had to use her vacation time and had has to cover her shifts with other colleagues as her boss is less than helpful.

She takes a VERY long shift in the hospital only sleeping when she is about to fall from her feet.  She conditions are dire, the supplies run are not enough and she is sent to a clinic away from the hospital to help minimise the amount of people sent to the hospital.

The man who flew her to the hospital, Trent, is there to fly her to the clinic where in very poor conditions, he helps her for the first day.  Later when she is almost dead on her feet, he takes her to his house for a hot meal, a shower and a clean empty bed.

He is there the next day when she is dead on her feet and the doctor tells her to go sleep.

Trent is in Jamaica as he ran from his family after his parents were killed in a plane crash and believes himself responsible.   He has issues with lies and trust but falls for the pretty and very kind nurse Monica.  He sees the dedication she has in her work and loves how generous she is to the people around her.  He also likes how blunt she is.

The pair find the electricity between them sparking constantly and eventually after knowing she has some hours off work they go to aback with a cave for some private time together.  After making love for the first time and having a swim, they go back to the cave only for an earthquake aftershock to collapse the cave entrance where Monica gets stuck and they have to dig her broken leg out.

They spend time together in the dark cave getting to know each other and drinking the fresh water only for Monica to get an infection and she runs fever.  Trent does what he can, but by the time they are found, Monica is gravely ill, and even Trent finds himself ill.

A mix up at the hospital leaves Trent feeling angry and lied to, and he leaves without saying goodbye and he goes to live with one of his brothers.  Monica is upset to find Trent has gone, but later finds that not only has her boss fired her, that she is now subject to an investigation and may lose her licence to be a nurse.

Family help and money get her the best lawyers and help to fight her case and her brother-in-law contacts Trent for help.  Trent immediately flies down to help and when he sees her they both realise how much they miss each other.

Time along with help from others makes Trent realise he has to stop running  and Monica realise that she has to relinquish control sometimes and let the ice inside her heart melt for a man eventually.  Its always lovely to see how the family are always there for the other members, blood relatives or not

This type of book is always a feel good book and always leaves me wanting more.  I would recommend this book to all romance lovers.
